Just a few weeks are left in the 1999-2000 NFL Season and it's been a wild one. With Jacksonville, Tennessee, Indianapolis, and St. Louis clinching playoff spots, there are eight more playoff berths waiting to be filled. So, with the NFL showing a great deal of parity, who is this year's regular season MVP? Names like Mark Brunell, Eddie George, Marshall Faulk, Kurt Warner, Peyton Manning, and Marvin Harrison will probably be tossed round but who ABOVE ALL did the most to make him invaluable to his team? Very confusing, huh?

Brunell could win although James Stewart probably is a bigger reason why the Jags are 13-1.

The MVP is not so clear cut this year as it had been in previous years. My pick is Marshall Faulk - so far almost 2,000 yards combined rushing and receiving and he has an outside chance to surpass Barry Sanders record for total yards gained from scrimmage if he closes out well. On top of that, much of the success of QB Kurt Warner this year for the Rams is due to the leadership and advice provided by Faulk. It's said that he sometimes changes the play on the field with usually good results.

I'm a 49er faithful, so my personal NFL MVP would have to be Charlie Garner. Coming to a crumbling dynasty with a horrendous season, Garner showed a lot of heart running the ball for the 49ers. He started as a backup RB but eventually won the starting job because of his relentless play. My other MVP would be Bryant Young. He came back less than a year after almost breaking his leg in two! With titanium rods inserted in his leg, BY made one of the most amazing comebacks in NFL history.. playing better than ever. Now that's a warrior worthy of an MVP.

Nope, can't call a guy a real MVP in a real bad team. Winning after all is the most important criterion and Garner sorry to say does not hack it. He's not even one of the top 5 RBs in the game today. I respect though your continued loyalty to the Niners in what has been a horrible season. I've been rooting for the Jets the past few years and this season has not been kind to my team at all.

Kurt Warner or Randy Moss.

b.u.: Yup, although it hurts, like Steve Young once said, the red and gold has been burned unto my heart. I just hope that next year the NFL Gods will have mercy on my team and give us a Payton Manning-like rookie QB from the draft.. Barry Sanders in niners uniform wouldn't be so bad either.
Alright fine, my MVP pick for all of the NFL would have to be Kurt Warner (eventhough i despise the Rams with all my 49er heart). How in the world can you go from Arena Football to the NFL and turn the once lowly Rams into contenders?

Good coaching jepoy, that's how. Add to the mix a talent like Marshall Faulk, and a team that has finally matured under the watchful eye of the man who should be coach of the year: **** Vermeil.

I thin sa ngayon the way he's playing??
for me lang ha si James Stewart!
Bakit kaya ang Jags 13-1??
galing niya eh!

Sorry road warrior and Y2k-G-21, James Stewart doesn't deserve the MVP. He's been injured for most of the year, therefore freeing Fred Taylor to play as running back. James Stewart isn't among the league leaders in rushing and wasn't even selected in the Pro-Bowl for Hawaii this year. You've got to take him out of your MVP list guys.
Jacksonville has their stunning record due to their offense led by Brunell and Jimmy smith, and that awesome defense led by Carnell Lake and Kevin Hardy, all of which are Pro-Bowl selections.

Jacksonville is good because of their defense though I still think they'll have to go through the Colsts to get to the SUperbowl and at this point, the Colts are the best eam in the NFL.
I've also been thinking about this MVP question more and I'm now sure that Faulk stands head and shoulders over everyone else because as good as his numbers are, his true value to the Rams cannot be measured in yards. He is the team's heart and soul and is the presence that steadies Kurt Warner.

It's final, Kurt Warner, quarterback of the St. Louis Rams, is NFL Most Valuable Player, The Associated Press gave Warner 33 votes, followed by 8 each for teammate Marshall Faulk and Indianapolis' Peyton Manning. Rookie Colts running back Edgerrin James got 1 vote. Warner achieved the impossible this year, since he was just supposed to be the back-up for free agent signee Trent Green. Green went down with an injury during the pre-season and Warner came in to more than fill his shoes. A veteran of the Arena Football League and NFL Europe, Warner has truly arrived after giving St. Louis it's first playoff berth and NFC West title in over a decade.
