I'm sure you've seen Fushigi Yuugi in GMA, and if you have AXN, surely, you must know about Curious Play, which is actually Fushigi Yuugi translated in English. So, what do you think of it? I think it's one of the best animes ever.

i love that show! im not thrilled with the main character (miaka) though. it's either she's too naive or just plain dumb. but there are times when i admire her kasi she's unselfish.

of the 7 star warriors, my favorites are chichiri and tasuki.

NOTE: my friend told me that the right translation of fushigi yuugi is mysterious play and not curious play. im not sure if this is true.

I like it! Haven't been able to watch for the past 2 weeks though (on GMA). I don't get to watch it on cable because we don't have cable at home, but my friend already told me the story. Galing! :)

I really like it, but I don't like the way AXN dubbed it. They should've gotten Viz to do it because the english versions of Ranma and Maison Ikkoku are some of the best dubbings I heard.

Also, the translation of the name "Fushigi Yuugi" to "Curious Play" is way too literal. Fushigi, in this case, should be translated as Mysterious and Yuugi into Game. A better translation would be "A Mysterious Game".

Also, Miaka reminds me of Sailor Moon/Bunny, but a smarter, less naive version.

I watch it too, there are episodes na boring but most of the time it's ok. It's bad Nuriko died :(

The best Suzaku Star Warrior for me would be Chichiri. He knows alot of tricks.

I was pretty interested in it, having watched the first two episodes in a subtitled format. Then GMA 7 came along and dubbed it in Filipino, which I find really irritating and a major turn off. Plus the fact that it is shown only once a week. Escaflowne on the other hand, I watch regularly because it is in English despite being a once-a-week show.

I wish I had cable so I could have watched it everyday.

i have to say that this is the best anime show i've ever seen in my life...well, so far. ang ganda kasi ng graphics, and the plot is pretty intense. it's not just all mushy mushy, and it's not all just action like ghostfighter. there's actually some japanese history and background to it. i think that's the major draw there. the creator also made it in such a way that each character has his own story, and when you put them all together, it's just amazing to watch.

i started watching it from the 15th episode on axn tv. i chanced upon it one day and was hooked ever since. di ko alam na may ganon. it was launched back in 1996 pa. i'm pretty obsessed right now with the show, especially the soundtrack. the ending theme talaga sobrang ganda, pati na rin the opening, but grabe you guys should hear the other songs by Akemi Satou. i've been downloading all the mp3s these past few days, and medyo nawawalan na ako ng disk space!

well i guess i better stop now, medyo ang dami ko nang nasabi. this is my very first post/reply. i even planned to post the fushigi yuugi topic pero meron na pala :P. basta dont watch the gma/filipino version on gma. sobrang sagwa. axn tv!

Sayang ang plot ng FY kasi ok na sana sya,but the style of Miaka as a cry baby sex symbol wanabee destroyed the legend of the 4 gods.I watch it because I want to see Soi :inluv: and it has characters that resemble a real bishounen like Hotohori.The only best thing that accounts to that anime is the series soundtrack, Satou Akemi's voice and Sakamoto Chika's voice are great!

i just love this series! great story! the writer was able to combine comedy action and drama... grabe, i cried my eyes out nung namatay yung family ni tamahome... hehehe super carried away na ba ako? :D

i also love the songs. gandang sabayan pero hangang humming lang ako eh.. ;)

of the suzaku warriors, my favorites are tasuki, tamahome, hotohori and nuriko..

Ngek,Don't you know that alot of anime fans are gettin pissed the way gma-7 has presented this anime ?like the legacy of Yuu Wataze turned into horror because of the worst dubbings and to the fact that its got a mushy story of the never ending exchange of i love you's by Tamahome and Miaka ? I suggest that you watch the japanese dubbed english subtitled version of this anime.
You don't know what you're missin'.Actually GMA-7 have already finished the series last year,and AXN has ressurected the series again aired at 6:30 pm.
But as I stated, I like the soundtrack better than the series itself,Satou Akemi's voice is so sweet.

i love it to pieces!!! i live here in the states, and the only way you can watch it is if you rented the fy tapes, since walang network ang nagsho-show nito. there was a time when i had a fushigi yuugi marathon, as in mga six hours straight na puro fy lang ang pinapanood ko.

my fave character is nuriko!!! i would love to have a friend as funny and as loyal as he is *okay*

ok,ganito yan, ok naman sana yung earlier part nya pero mula ng araw arawin yung palitan nila ni Tamahome at Miaka ng i love you, kamanyakan ni Tasuki at libido ni Miaka at nung isa isa ng namatay ang mga suzaku star warriors medyo nasira na ng dahan dahan yung story ng Fushigi kasi parang naging cheap na yung plot nya.

Honestly, ako rin gusto ko FY before, but after I finished the series, I thought about it and I found out that it totally sucked!!!
It contains cheesy dialogues, cliche' themes (everybody whether they be hero or villain has a thing for the lead gorl), PATHETIC fight scenes and Nakago was just to damn powerful, which takes away the exitement of who will win. Mag dadaimos n lang ako, kahit nakakasawa na yung "Richard-Erika" tawagan nla, at least ganda nung story at fight scenes. Actually, isa lang ang redeeming quality ng FY: one word, SOI!!!

kung mahilig kayo sa love stories, I recommend Kare Kano by Gainax, Ayashi no Ceres(Yuu Watase creation din pro di sya skwater) and Fruit Basket. Believe me, you'll like these.

Sa OAV, nagkagusto si Tasuki kay MIAKA!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the hell is that?????? A woman-hater would fall in love with a woman like this? Oh come on! Yes, it would be a good story if Tasuki does fall in love with a woman, but not Miaka. That's bull.

Siya pa naman paborito ko kasi he breaks the romantic mold of the story. He's a war-freak and hates women (at first)....:o

For the 7 Miaka guardians, my faves are Tasuki (before he fell for mIaka because when he did, he became as wussy as the others who fell before him) and Chichiri, another dude who didnt die and fall for Miaka at the same time.

i so agree with you! i was in the phils when they started airing it, but then i had to move here in cali so i didn't finish the story! but now, i bought the dvd so yeah, i've watched the whole thing and it's the bomb!!! and i love nuriko too!!!

Pakingan nyo yung vocal album ng Fushigi Yuugi mas magugustuhan nyo sya kaysa series kasi napaka mushy ng plot na ginawa ni Yuu Wataze.Pero infairness magaling sya magdrawing and she can do some CLAMP inspired Fushigi Yuugi
artwork.Mas gusto ko kasi yung vocal album nya at yung artwork instead sa TV series. (IMO)

for me hotohori is the greatest suzaku warrior even though he got no power left when the power of suzaku was sealed he was able so injure nakago unfortunately he didn't kill nakago.

ang saddest episode for me is when my crush hotohori died
