any ranma 1/2 fanatics out there? syempre yung english version ha? do you dig ranma 1/2? well, i am an avid fan of ranma 1/2. i like the idea of changing into a different form when splashed with cold water and turning back into his/her old self whenever splashed with hot water.

Akane is not really tomboy as stated by Mad... boyish lang sya coz she's the chosen one by her father to protect the dojo... and because of that mahilig sya sa mga martial arts na panlalaki kaya tuloy natatawag syang tomboy.. but she's not... girl na girl sya... and she loves ranma :love: Si Ukyo pa tuloy ang masasabi kong tomboy, kc diba when she's revenging, she said na she lost her feminity side... and she really looks like a man... hehehe!:p Cute din sana si Shampoo para kay ranma, kaya lang ang gusto talaga ni ranma ay si akane... :luvu:

Probably one of the funniest anime series ever.:lol: From the gender-bending of Ranma, to the bestial transformations of Genman, Ryoga, Shampoo, etc., to the fascination of Kuno with the "pig-tailed girl", and all the situations where the cast end up in.:grinroll: It's all hilarious! maganda rin yung "Nihao my Concubine". Muntik ng sabihin ni akane na "Ranma, I Love..." pero bitin eh.
and yung "An Akane To Remember", favorite ko rin yun eh. talagang kitang-kita dun na selos na selos si ranma. hehehe! pareho kasi silang pakipot eh.
i used to rent videos of those tapos nirerecord ko. hehehe! sama ko 'no? sarap kasing ulit-ulitin eh.

i like the storyline. And the episode which i love the most? Their christmas special. nakakakilig kasi na after the whole episode of the usual troubles, ranma ended up with his arm around akane and akane, with her head resting on ranma. :*) naaalala ko pa rin itong line na to after ranma fumbled for words sa "something" na binigay ni akane:

sa characters, i like ranma as a girl (pig tailed girl) and then si ukyou and her okonomiyaki! :chomp:

gusto kong OAV yung Like Water for Ranma. Nagugutom ako tuwing napapanood ko :grin: Naalala ko sinusubaybayan ko yun nung nasa RPN 9 pa siya, kasi English :laugh:. Gusto ko rin yung ending song ng first few sequences.

Balang araw makukumpleto ko rin ang buong Ranma anime. Already have the OAVS and movies. And I'm buying Martial Mayhem series this saturday. :)

Cutest pair sina Ranma and Akane. Kasumi and Dr. Tofu a close second.

ang pinaka favorite kong episode eh yung umalis si akane at napunta sya sa isang forest na may mga giant animals that arent even from japan. then ranma searched for her there at nakita nya dun si ryoga. tapos nakita rin nila si akane with this guy and they were really sweet sa isat isa!

fave episode ko rin yung nabagok yung ulo ni ranma and she decided na maging girl forever! nag freak out pa nga sya nang maging guy sya (as if she didnt know na that happens).

yung isa pa eh yung nagpunta sila sa hot spring at mayron dung doll na nabastos ni ranma so she possessed akane and she tried to kill ranma! ang sweet nung ending nun!

bat naman kasi they have to dub it in tagalog pa eh!

Comic Sale Central sa Virra Mall. They are not original tapes, but they are so affordable. The Martial Mayhem series, like most of the other Ranma series, has 24 episodes and comes in 12 volumes, making it two episodes per volume. Each VHS tape has 4 episodes, or 2 volumes. Therefore, the entire series that I bought came in only 6 tapes. At P250 per tape, that's a mere P1,500 for the entire series! Sulit 'di ba?

I'm setting my sights on Hard Battle, Outta Control, and Anything Goes Martial Arts in the next few months. Huhulihin ko na yung TV series kasi napanood ko na dati sa channel 9 yon. Kung makumpleto ng CSC yung Random Rhapsody, uunahin ko na yon. :)

im not sure, kasi sa tv ko napanood yun eh. at saka ang alam ko, isa pa lang ang napanood kong movie, yung sinama sila ni Kuno para magbakasyon. tapos napunta sila sa isang island, then one by one, nawawala ang mga girls na kasama nila kahit na yung mga palaban. yun pala, dahil kinidnap sila ang isang kaharian na walang girls. yun lang. di ko kasi alam yung title eh.

i'm a big ranma 1/2 fan. i actually don't collect (as of yet) the videos because i'm still collecting the manga. i buy the viz comics english subtitled ( i think i've actually said this over and over again over different threads here in pex ;)). i currently buy the singular issues. and completing by graphic novels the ones ahead that i failed to buy.

ranma 1/2 in manga by viz right now is in part (or volume) 10. i'm in part 10 no. 8 right where ranma's mother is introduced. (i think ranma in manga ends in part 35 :sweatdrop2: )

i'd love to buy the videos but alas, i'm still collecting comic books right now. after finishing off some story arcs, i might drop some titles and buy videos. are there any available on vcd's?

i still love akane! thus my fascination over boyish girls! :sunny:

i'm not sure about the title but i guess it's "an akane to remember" where akane meets this guy and lets him eat her cooking which turned out to be so delicious because the water used is from a magical spring.

the movie you are referring is the second one "Nihao My Concubine". that movie is cool! but i like the 1st movie "Big Trouble in Nekonron, China" more. *okay* the 1st movie's soundtrack is cool also!

Well, meron ding sumablay na isa o dalawa (mga 8 lang siguro ang rating ko), pero in general, napakalinaw ng mga videos. Just go to the site then ask them to reserve the titles you want. You will receive a reply within 24 hours. As for other stores that sell ranma videos, sorry, wala eh :(. I'm not even aware of any stores that lend anime videos. Dati meron sa University Mall pero wala na ngayon.

Well kahit nga sa Star Mandarin Channel before pinagtyagaan ko na yung Chinese translations (my sister found it really weird for me to be laughing in front of the TV without even understanding a word they're saying). We also had a subbed tape of Nihao My Concubine before it got lost. :(

Nakabili rin ako ng apat na tapes nung last weekend, TV series (5,6,7,8), (9,10,11,12), at saka yung Random Rhapsody (9,10,11), (12,13,14). Sa wakas, nakita ko ulit si Dr. Tofu! Okay siyang comedian (kapag nandiyan si Kasumi). And I finally got to see Pantyhose Taro, the strongest shifter in the manga (and anime, I guess). :)

Pantyhose Taro was washed in the cursed spring of Ox carrying Yeti holding crane and slippery eel which is why he is the most powerful of all the shifters. He was hard enough to beat in his guy form, but his monster form is worse. It's like Gokou vs. Broli.

It took the combined might of Ranma, Ryoga, Shampoo, and Mousse to stun him, and Ranma needed Akane's help in defeating him. :)

ayyyy grabe!!! super ok ang ranma 1/2!! *okay*actually this is one of my favorites, i started watching this anime nung nasa rpn 9 pa siya and english version. i really like the characters kasi naman super nakakatuwa yung mga characters like si ryouga na palaging naliligaw, si mousse na malabo ang mata!! si tatewaki kuno na palagi nalang "oh my pig-tailed girl!!" and etc. atsaka yung humor nung anime ay grabe super nakakatawa!!! minsan nga kapag i feel down nanunuod lang ako ng ranma ok na ako!! :laugh:

hi there crescent! :wave: what do you collect? english-translated or japanese? i'm assuming you collect the japanese one kasi the english-translated is only until vol. 18 right now (as of jan 02). anyway, do you mean that there are 38 ranma graphic novels all in all? iba kasi yung numbering ng viz graphic novels eh. malamang mas marami yung sa viz kasi ang alam ko hinati-hati yung what should consist of a single graphic novel in japanese.

anyway, i'm still stuck in the single issues. actually, yung issue ngayon (part 10 no.9), yun actually yung Desperately Seeking Shampoo na OAV.

japanese and chinese yung manga ko ng ranma 1/2. masyadong mabagal at mahal kasi yung english one eh. hmmm... i'm not sure kung 38 din yung graphic novel ng english. actually i know of 2 types of english translated ranma comics. yung isa manipis lang mala-xmen comics (probably the same as what you've got). siguro one manga in japanese is equivalent to 6 or more mala-xmen comics. another form of the english manga is the thick one i call graphic novel. i'm not sure kung parehong pareho lang yung japanese manga and english graphic novel in terms of content and thickness.

ganon ba? hehe. :D kelan ka ba last nakapanood sa star mandarin channel? kasi actually napanood ko lang siya dahil inaabangan ko dati every early mornings sa star tv yung takara transfomers, but while channel surfing, napanood ko yung ranma. but that was several years ago. :)

OAV 6, volume title is Faster Kasumi! Kill! Kill! I think the title is Ranma, look at me or something like that. I'll watch it again tonight and get the correct title for you.

i remember when i was a kid, i was watching a cartoon called Turbo Teen. i don't know if anyone of you remembers it pero similar siya sa ranma in a way that the guy also changes. he changes to a car whenever he feels hot (doused with hot water, perspiring, or even after eating chili) and he changes back to a guy when he feels cold (like doused with cold water, being in a cold room, become in contact with ice). i'm not sure kung nauna siya sa ranma 1/2. but i saw this cartoon first. that's why when i first saw ranma 1/2, nagulat ako coz similar yung concept.

I was watching Outta Control yesterday. Aliw na aliw ako dun sa episode nung ghost cat. At the end of the episode, Akane called Ranma, who had been in cat-fu trance, to sit at her lap, and Ranma obliged. Katuwa lang talaga. Reminds me of the first time Ranma went into a cat-fu trance. Christmas seems to be the best season for Ranma and Akane to be really sweet with each other.

Random Rhapsody, A Christmas without Ranma - After a furious altercation among Shampoo, Ukyou, and Kodachi, Akane steps in and shouts "Cut it out! Ranma is going to spend Christmas with ME!. Moments later, Ranma approaches Akane and gives her some gifts. This makes Akane cry (in joy). The episode ends with Ranma and Akane looking so sweetly at each other. :inluv:

Ranma OAV 1 (forgot the title, but it's the second episode, follows Curse of the Contrary Jewel) - Again, everyone fights for Ranma's attention. In the end, Akane and Ranma have a sweet moment to themselves. Akane gives Ranma a poorly-done scarf. Ranma at first cannot figure out what it is, but when he saw his initials in it, he just didn't care anymore. He wore it. Ranma gives Akane a picture frame with a picture of the main and supporting cast. Akane holds it tightly and cries. :inluv:

I watched it again two nights ago, and I studied the picture that Ranma gave to Akane. Upon closer examination, I realized that it was a photo of the cast of Nihao, My Concubine. Nakita ko si Toma (yung prince), si doggy (yung partner ni Nabiki, at nanggulpi kay Kuno), at si monkey (yung partner ni Ukyou na ginulpi ni Ryoga). Hehehe, titignan ko ulit kung makita ko si birdie (yung partner ni Shampoo na ginulpi naman ni Mousse).

yup yup. majority of the OAVs are in the mangas too. Yung movie 1 and 2 ang wala.

Akane's terrible cooking was first revealed in episode 10 of the Anything Goes Martial Arts series. Ranma and Genma went to the mountains for training, and Akane was forced by her father to go with them so that she could look after Ranma and cook for them. After a hard day of training, Genma and Ranma were happily seated in front of Akane's curry. They immediately took one spoon of her curry, and nearly collapsed. It turns out Akane had placed vinegar instead of white wine :lol:

Megumi Hayashibara pala si Ran-chan. I should get myself an English subtitled version of Ranma 1/2. Does anyone know of any seller (besides Anima Anime) who can possibly get me subtitled versions of Ranma? Everyone else seems to be selling the English dubbed version. I still don't have Outta Control vols. 7-10 because my Ranma source's master copies have been damaged. Except for these volumes as well as vols. 7 and 8 of Random Rhapsody, I already have all the TV episodes, OVAs and movies. It was quite a task collecting them all, but it was worth it. :)

I watched the episodes of Ranma and Akane vs. Azusa and Mikado yesterday, and I was very touched by the scene where Mikado and Azusa applied that powerful maneuver where Azusa was clinging on to Ranma's legs while Ranma was holding Akane's arms. While in this position, Mikado was swinging all three in a huge and powerful loop. I forgot the name of the move, but it was a move supposedly intended to break couples.

Ahh, the love of Ranma and Akane :inluv:. Akane was struggling to get herself free from Ranma's grip so that she could save Ranma. However, that would mean that she would be blown away and land head first wherever she would land. Ranma was unwilling to let go, and even tightened his grip on her. Eventually, Azusa got dizzy and let go of them. Ranma and Akane were about to hit the wall. Ranma quickly placed himself between Akane and the wall, and upon impact, Ranma hit the wall squarely while Akane hit Ranma's body, which served as a cushion for her. Akane landed safely, but Ranma was temporarily knocked out. Akane could only cry at Ranma's chest.

Watched the episode again, and I can't really discern whether it's Goodbye World. Somehow, I hear it as Goodbye Whirl. Oh well, sounds the same :glee:.

It amazes me to know that, even though Ranma is a student of the Anything goes Martial Arts, his most powerful moves are not of his school. Both Kancho Tenshu Amaguriken and Hiryu Shoten Ha were taught to him by Cologne, and these two attacks were from 3000 years of Chinese Amazon history. What's even more amazing is that part of the Anything Goes School, which is the Saotome School of Anything Goes Martial Arts, has two "forbidden" techniques, one of which Ranma used, but only once. The origin of the techniques may not have been good, but the arts themselves are amazing. I can't help but imagine Ranma fighting in the end using the stealth,cunning, and speed of the Umisen Ken and the sheer strength and power of the Yamesen Ken.

Nope, Random Rhapsody is not the final season of Ranma. There is still season 7, Ranma Forever, which is the absolute ending of the anime. It won't show the manga ending though because it won't reach the Saffron saga and the eventual ending [spoiler] which is Ranma and Akane's botched wedding[/b]. As far as I know, ang climax ng last season ay yung reunion ni Ranma (boy-type this time) and his mother, Nodoka. And Nodoka, even though she knows that Ranma and Ranko (Ranma's girl-type name, as made known to Nokoka) are one and the same, she still acknowledges Ranma to be a man so she does not force Ranma and Genma to commit sepukku. I'd have to dig up on this though to get more information. I've heard though that season 7 will commence dubbing this June.

Volume 8 of Random Rhapsody has already been released. I wonder why Comic Sale still hasn't acquired Vols. 7 and 8? My hands are simply itching to get a copy of both.

That pic was from the manga. It's from volume 36 in fact and I have that manga. Also in the manga, Ranma and Genma move out of the Tendo's and back to their own house. In volume 37 and 38 are the last 2 books of the manga, also known as the Saffron saga.

That is correct. I was referring to the anime though when I mistakenly posted that Ranma and Nodoka will finally reunite. I read about their reunion in the manga, which was why I posted that pic. One of the most touching scenes in the manga (apart from the usual Ranma/Akane stare-in-each-other's-face-with-quivering-eyes-and-lips). :)

Currently watching Kimagure Orange Road this week, and I can't help but notice the similarities in the art. Ayukawa Madoka is like a sexier and longer-haired Tendo Akane while Kasuga Kyosuke is like a wimpy version of Saotome Ranma.

Actually, he still has 6 to go. Ranma 1/2 has 38 books, making it the longest of Takahashi's works. Interestingly though, Urusei is the longer anime, having 196 TV episodes, as compared to Ranma's 161.

i'm familiar with maison ikkoku. halatang gawa sya ni rumiko takahashi kasi medyo similar yung itsura ng characters. one anime na hindi halatang kay rumiko is mermaid scar. haven't watched it nga lang.

If you're talking about the manga and anime, they have long been finished. Viz has already dubbed up to season 6, Random Rhapsody. This June, they will start dubbing the final season, Ranma Forever.

If you're talking about the anime being shown here, AFAIK, tapos na dati pa sa GMA 7.

Volume 8 of Random Rhapsody (Final volume)has been released, and has reached PI shores. DOC already has it. Just waiting for CSC to acquire it.

Ranma Forever has already begun, with the first volume (3 episodes also) being released last month. Volume 2 should be out by August. 28 episodes left, and I'm done with Ranma. :)

I like the english dub, but subtitled is still the best! I just love the japanese voices! Well, except for male Ranma's voice (for now). Female Ranma, Akane, Nabiki, and Kuno, have great voice actors. Especially Kuno... and female Ranma was a lot *****ier :bounce:

Well there were some cuts. In ep. 1, the bathroom scene was not shown. And in ep. 2, the underwater scene was not shown. But I already expected that. No way would AXN show Ranma's breasts nor Kuno grabbing Ranma's breasts. :)

Nope, AXN has not skipped any episodes. The series really has a break in the continuity. When Ranma was first aired in Japan, the ratings plummeted after a few episodes. That's why they decided to bring Shampoo at once. Originally, Shampoo wasn't supposed to appear until after the Golden pair, but in order to spike up the ratings, they brought in the shows where Shampoo first appeared. Kinda weird, isn't it? It's okay though. We will still see the Azusa Shiratori/Mikado Sanzenin pair in the next few episodes.

Couldn't agree with you more, man. It made my hairs stand up on end. I just kept repeating this scene when I feel frustrated (I recorded the AXN Ranma's). Ranma never let go of her...just an awesome moment and was a sign of things to come for both of them.

That skating pair series of episodes was one of my favorites. There was just many todo-kilig scenes here that made me question my manhood. :D

Memorable scenes:

-When Mikado tried to kiss Akane for the first time, Ranma flipped a fish cake on his face...astig!
-"Akane is my fiancee. If you pull something like that again I'll kill you!" (notice Akane's flabbergasted reaction)
-Akane teasing Ranma about being kissed easily, and Ranma did something that caught her by surprise...
-...And the dare was issued. Akane dared Ranma to kiss her...and may have eventually done so if the Tendo family and Genma weren't there.
-That Ranma sacrifice you mentioned.
-Akane begging Ranma to rest (before the moment was destroyed by stupid Ryoga!).

The locker room episode was hilarious. Akane may be a lot smarter than Ranma, but she's dumb as a brick when it comes to Ryoga :glee:

The broom boy's name is Shinnosuke, or Shin-boy as what his "Megaton Puncher" grandpa calls him. :D Yup. That was my fave OAV, with the "Ranma, Look At Me" a close second (the one where Akane turned to a doll).

Memorable Scenes:

-Akane refusing to leave with Ranma for the first time (Ranma: "Is that so, huh? Huh? You like him better than me, is that it? AKANE YOU DUMMY!!!")
-Akane refuses for the second time. Ranma pulled his punch meant for Shin-boy because Akane interrupted (Akane: "Ranma, try to understand!"--->Ranma: "I understand all right..."):(
-Ranma finally deciding to help Akane whatever it takes (with the help of Ryoga's revelation)
-Akane: "He's my...he's my fiancee..."
-That last scene you mentioned. Touching...:D

The dumbest guy still in the whole Ranmaverse is "Yesterday's-Shooting-Star-today's-Blue-Thunder" Tatewaki Kuno. He has seen the male Ranma change to female Ranma right in his face many times, but he still can't get a hint...

Kuno: "Ranma! I never knew you were a practitioner of the black arts!!!"

Speaking of Mousse, he's my second fave next to Ranma. His love for Shampoo, although pathetic, is just monumental! His shining moment is in the 2nd movie...you gotta see it to believe...

tunnel of lost love is also hilarious. pati na din yung "first date" ni ryouga and akane na sinet-up ni ranma at shampoo para makuha nila yung soap that would supposedly cure them of the curse.

After watching two seasons and entering into the third season, I can say that AXN is not using Viz's script. True, there are a lot of similarities, but the differences are too glaring to ignore.

161 TV episodes (divided into 7 seasons), 11 OVAs, and 3 movies. The first OVA, One Flew over the Kuno's Nest, is actually the first movie, but was marketed as an OVA by Viz. And rightly so, imo, since that episode was based on the manga. The two other movies were not; they were purely anime. Did anyone notice that in the second movie, all the girls seemed to have had a bust-lift?

what exactly are you looking for vcd or vhs? some of my volumes are on vhs and i'm still in the process of converting all my videos into to vcd. i have some episodes of Ranma Forever but i haven't completed it yet ( i just have the final 2 volumes and some volumes in between). i'm still expecting a shipment by the end of september.

Yup, it's Akari. She likes Ryoga because he was able to beat her pet sumo pig, and she loves hime because he turns into a pig. She's actually a better match for Ryoga than Akane. I shudder to think of what Akane will do if she learns that Ryoga is actually P-chan. Imagine, she's been cuddling and hugging and taking a bath with that pig! :glee:

Yung thing about kay ranma, mouse, and ryouga vs. mint I think I know it. Iyon ba yung di sila maka-change back sa normal form and they had to search for a little kettle. nope... i don't remember seeing it in my ranma marathon.

Unfortunately, we won't get to see Akari, Herb, Mint, and Lime, in the anime. The anime that was created focuses on Ranma and Akane's relationship so Akari won't be in it as it will focus more on Ryoga. Same with Herb, Mint, and Lime; Akane will practically have no role in that storyline, although the ending involves her (another "kilig" portion in the manga :lovesigh: ).

Herb, Mint, and Lime are involved in the story where Ranma, Mousse, and Ryoga, were splashed with a special kind of water that prevents them from returning to their normal forms even when splashed with hot water. This saga is actually a great story to animate; the match-ups are very even and all six are involved in great matches. Mousse and Lime engage in a battle of speed while Ryouga and Mint engage in a battle of strength. Ranma and Herb engage in one of the fiercest battles in the entire manga, and this is where Ranma used Hiryu Korin Dan (Dragon's Descending Crashing Wave), which is actually a variation of the Hiryu Shoten Ha (Dragon's Heaven Blast).

Trivia: Did you know that Sasuke, the Kunos' faithful servant, is an anime-only character? He is not in the manga. And he actually substituted in for Hikaru Gosunkugi in some parts of the anime. Gosunkugi was introduced early in the manga, but we won't get to see him until Random Rhapsody (season 6).

Hahaha! I liked the scene where Ranma fell in love with Cologne because of the pill. Then, when the pill lost it's effect, and Ranma saw himself hugging Cologne, he practically disintegrated :rotflmao:. Must be like the time when he was kissed by Sanzenin. Anyway, kilig moment again when Akane was desperately telling Ranma to tell her "without the pill". And did you see her sigh of relief when the effects of the pill wore off? :lovesigh:
