i understand everyone's sentiments, and IDEALLY that should be the case. unfortunately, reality bites. and everywhere one goes, there will always be hierarchy. people will always try to classify you to the minutest classification.
in an academic point of view, the 1st category would be your school. they look high at you if you come from either u.p., dlsu or admu. then if you're from u.p., they will classify you further, determining from which campus you are from, of which as mentioned, diliman is revered on the top. afterwards, the course you are taking (engineering, law, arts, etc.) of course, within your college, there still exist an hierarchy, wherein certain courses are still looked up and down respectively. then, within your fellow colleagues (same course), siyempre the respect goes sa pinakamatalino ng class.
this sort of classification attitude is sad, but it's a reality. it would be better if it be ignored, but frequent labeling does get in one's nerves, especially if it involves opportunities.
