The long wait is over. Like a father anxiously waiting for a new-born baby, I couldn't wait to see myself clad in an elegant toga beaming with confidence as I receive my diploma for my Bachelor of Laws degree.
Four years ago I think of my graduation in undergraduate level with sheer nonchalance . I just breezed through it. Time flies so fast that one day I just find myself already a diploma holder of a political science degree with latin honors at that.
It was in law school where time drags so slow more often conspiring with the harsh realities. A thirty-minute recitation is like standing for twenty-four hours perspiring thick rolls of sweat under a freezing cold room mumbling litany of cases and provisions interspersed by the mind-boggling questions of the professor. A two-hour quiz is like answering all the calculus exams with no calculator. The results of which makes you wonder why there is such a thing as life.
And as the day of my graduation inches closer , I couldn't help but feel triumphant. Kudos to my fellow graduates who exhibited sheer bravado and brilliance, a tour-de-force performance worthy of all Oscar accolades.
And now I couldnt agree more when somebody proclaimed that hurdling law is like battling life. If one emerges a victor, then he shall come out in life unscathed. To all of us graduates, we are all victors.
