"Breakfast" (the morning show)

I know that a lot of people are very fond of Alas Singko y Medya, and that other show...there have been a lot of morning shows cropping out on pinoy tv...but what is your favorite??
Have you heard of ABS-CBN News Channel's "Breakfast"? You know why I watch this show? Well, it is informative and fun and you should check out the guys' (the hosts) camaraderie..it's almost like "Friends"...
Please let me know what you guys think...

I really, really like Breakfast. I think it caters more to my taste as compared to ASYM and Unang Hirit. It's delivered in English and the topics they discuss are much more interesting than the other two morning shows.

Plus, I think Mitzi (Mitchie?) looks a lot prettier than Cristine Bersola and Miriam Quiambao. Who dares to disagree when I say this: JC Gonzales is much more pleasing than Arnold Clavio and Julius Babao?

I don't get to watch it because I hate Sky Cable but Pinoyexchange.com has been featured on the Breakfast show already. It was around Christmas last year and Chiqui and myself guested on the show to talk about PEx.

All of 5 of them are very nice and have much more chemistry than the other shows.

Frankly speaking i've only watched the show once but i loved every minute of it. Problem is, i can't watch it every morning coz i use HOME CABLE. However, i'm not ready to switch to SKY CABLE yet coz i love STAR MOVIES to the MAX!! I wish SKY CABLE had STAR MOVIES too.

Now this is my morning show! I love seeing Angel Jacob in the mornings. Very beautiful. They seem a bit stiff sometimes, but they sure beat the other morning shows when it comes to coolness and freshness, IMHO.

great start every morning. i never woke that early before, but now, i'm forced so that i could watch the four guys. they're not the best hosts (jc kinda talks fast and he states things na parang bitin, angel is cute but not that smart methinks, ria talks faster than jc and bam, well, he's fine na din).

when they're doing an interview, they don't seem to know how to do a follow-up question. nakakatawa.

but what's good about this show is that they're all pleasant-looking, it's light, fun and very positive. way better than the depressing news we get to see everyday.

what i like best are the singers/musicians they guest in the show. quite entertaining.

pia handles the headlines, traffic, and weather news. so she's always standing. only the four hosts are in the sofa section of the set.

if only for jc, i love watching breakfast! pero sige na nga, as a whole, the show's format is perfect. absolutely fun to watch in the mornings. :D yun nga lang, ang aga kasi ng show eh. hirap gumising.

I think the hosts are lightweight interviewers. They are more times than not in awe of the person they are interviewing and since they're young, they look like they need more experience in getting more credibility. It's hard to take them seriously.

All of them look very unapproachable. Only JC actually seems friendly. I don't know if they are, but they look "high class" at hindi "ma reach".

I also think the show is a little slow paced. It's mainly all interviews and guests. There's really no creative segments and the like.

Mas "sosyal". It's a good alternative from ASYM and UH though.

ok, i haven't really watched the whole show so i can't comment on their hosting styles and interviews since it's the time i'm also preparing for work. but i did get to see a part when they were interviewing former that's people (i cant remember their names) and i just looked at JC the whole time. oops. :glee:

I remember Pia from debate and she was really nice. She was one of those varsity debaters who taught us how to debate efficiently. Part of the reason why I hardly attend debate trainings anymore is that there's no more friendly face there like Pia. It's a good thing that she now has a show. You go, girl!

definitely mga pang-sosyal!!!! is it a conscious effort on the hosts' part to talk in english? wala lang... once in a while, talking straight in Filipino (and without the slang) is nice... keeps you grounded...

with JC, well, he's really sweet to his sister (never thought that that girl was his sister -- she appeared in several commercials like pantene and coke). but he's so intense sometimes that even if the other hosts are still trying to lighten up some interviews he suddenly says, "anyway" or something like that. he should lighten up! bam has improved a lot! not as stiff as before. and ria, well she grew up in the states so mabilis syang magsalita! as in mabilis talaga! angel is getting more acting jobs so either she's late or absent (this morning she's being teased with the guest co-host that i though is married na already).

WELL I KNOW THEY'RE REALLY FORCED TO SPEAK IN ENGLISH. BUT I HOPE WHEN THEY DO, THEY DO IT STRAIGHT. SOME OF THEM TEND TO SPEAK IN TAGLISH THEREFORE GVING AN AIR OF "PA-SOSYAL."

kelan pa naging cool ang mag-taglish? FYI, i belong to an international organization. and you know what they find pathetic about filipinos? THOSE WHO SPEAK IN TAGLISH! They laugh their heads off when they hear people speak in "cono" way. You know why? Because it just means, that the person talking is soooo stupid he/she can't even finish a sentence in either straight Filipino or English...]

- ang cute nya kasi eh. But I find all of the hosts good & very refreshing, aliw yung show particularly the episode when the La Salle Green Archers guested after they won the UAAP. Halatang pilit na pilit na makisama yung mga hosts kasi puro sila Ateneans...:D :D :D

'pag medyo 'di interesting ang portions sa UH o ASYM, it's BREAKFAST i always turn to...their more casual format is a welcome change from that of the two shows mentioned...

well, i guess you can't blame 'em kung nagtata-taglish sila coz of their target audience, and their being on studio 23...

so I got to see it from the backstage point of view... it's really rushed! while I was at my place, and Dr. Villarica was talking, the director was signaling the hosts to rush.. well it was the same with many of the segments. I guess the show's intent is really to give a summary of the stuff and not in-depth treatment which is not possible with the so many topics.

nope, i'm not connected with the show. maybe, watching it regularly (as in everyday -- if they will also have it on weekends, i'll watch it still!) somehow made me "acquainted" to the hosts. parang fan baga! :)

it's the only chance i got to see the news in a more positive light (if that's possible at all). brief without the bad details. i still want to be informed, that's why.

anyway, i saw Bam yesterday in greenbelt. we're buying some movie tickets and he was there! i was starstruck for a while and i think he noticed i recognized him. he's way cuter and leaner in person!

When I was still in college, I tried to watch Breakfast a couple of times. Kaso mahirap nga coz early morning show. When I first saw Bam Aquino on TV I thought "sino tong mukhang boring guy na to? And why did they put him on Breakfast?" Later on I realized that the guy is witty naman and very articulate nga so he just balances everything in Breakfast. Basta I really thought na mukha syang seryoso masyado.

And then I got a chance to meet Bam Aquino when we were doing our thesis...after nun nagkacrush ako sa kanya!

We're from la salle and right before the interview nagbibiruan kami ng mga thesismates ko na baka magkakantsawan pa with Bam Aquino coz there was an admu-dlsu game coming up a couple of days after that interview...so anyways when we met him he was very nice and accommodating to us. I was assigned to ask the questions during the interview, tapos my other thesismates handled the video and tape recording, etc. During the interview I found myself nlang getting mesmerized by Bam Aquino's charm and intelligence!!! :*)

Syempre after nun nahiya akong magpahalata na natuwa ako sa kanya...As soon as we said our goodbyes and my thesismates and I were in the elevator na I told them na I suddenly developed a crush on Bam Aquino. They told me sila rin daw...Tuwang tuwa kaming 4 and for a couple of days sya lang ata ang pinag-uusapan namin!

haay, sori for the long story...I just want to share it coz the guy is really great! :D

had the privilege of being interviewed in breakfast some few years back when it was still in ANC. si JC pa nun. he's really smart, and approachable to boot. first time ko lumabas on tv, national tv at that, but he made me feel "at home" enough for me to answer his queries without stutters.

the new hosts are just as brilliant. they represent the dynamism of today's youth. ok yung rotation ng co-hosts, para hindi monotonous yung show. crush ko rin si marieton... too bad she's already married. hehehe.

i loved the episode a few days ago. they guested bands (6cycle mind, kitchie nadal, mojofly, etc.) ang saya eh! sarap manood at makinig! *okay*
