Hi RLboy try mo sa Mongkok...yun yung parang divisoria namin dito. You better try to go there at night time kasi hanggang midnight open sila doon eh. Or meron din sa Jordan or Tsimshatsui, but I suggest Mongkok na lang...Mura pa ..see ya

If u are from HongKong side, you can take MTR ..di ka mawawala niyan, pwede rin bus o kaya ay ferry. If u're comin from Kowloon side, bus ok na o kaya lakad ka na lang ..exercise mo pa..lapit lang naman eh..da best MTR..mahal nga lang ..:D

to go to the ladies market in mongkok, take the MTR to Mongkok station, then exit E (bank center). Just cross the street after the exit and head straight. it's 1-2 blocks down the road. To get to the temple street night market in Jordan/Yau Ma Tei, take the MTR to Jordan or Yau Ma Tei station, and check the map in the station (sorry :) ).
ladies st. in mongkok is turning pretty much into a tourist market, and you can buy almost all the souvenirs here. lighters, some clothes, chinese stuff and the like. the area around it have some good stores for shoes/sneakers and electronics.
temple street has always been a tourist market, and it's pretty similar to ladies market, without the clothes. mostly small items like keychains, flashlights, useless trinklets, porn. still good for a look-see.
sham shui po on the other hand has mostly wholesale clothes shops and a major computer/electronic hub (golden center, ala virra mall). there's a sham shui po mtr station so it's also easy to go to.
have fun in hong kong! and be sure to never, ever, buy electronics in tsim sha tsui. don't even bother going inside the stores, you'll just be tempted and they'll rip you off faster than you can say diu lei lo mo :)
candypie: how long have u been here?

Definitely mongkok! I was there just last week and i bought 2 leather boots for only $100. So Cheap! But when it comes to ladies shirts or blouses, you have too look because it's much cheaper here. U2, Giordano @ Bossini stores there sell cheap jackets and shirts.

Hehe, wait.. kwento lang ako about this.
We (me, my 2 brothers, my sister and her husband) went to Hong Kong 1996 or 1997, just when Playstation came out to the market. Then we went to Toys R Us to find out its price, then ang mahal!! So when we were walking down Tsimshatsui, we saw these stores selling PS and we went in to inquire about the price. Aba, syempre ang mura dba? Siguro 1/4 off the price at Toys R Us.
So my sister and her hubby said, okay we'll take one, pero we want to see it first. Eh sister ko, mataray and skeptical, sabi nya what the hell? money down? we havent even seen the merchandise!
Yung owner, taking the opportunity na galit ate ko, sabi nya I will not do business with that woman in my store!
Then yung husband nya, sinabi, for example 16K daw yung PS, so binigay na yung pera as money down, yun pala yung mismong console lang, hindi pa kasama controller, cords, lahat ng dapat kasama na! Pati plug +200 dollars, etc... LOL naging sobrang mahal!
Eh ayaw isoli yung 16K na money down, kasi daw ganun daw talaga business dun.. aba? Guess what ginawa ng ate ko..
Lumabas sya dun, tinawag nya yung police sa kanto. Syempre gulat yung owner binigay agad yung pera.
Tamang-tama yun yung time na ibabalik yung HK sa China kaya sobrang daming police.
Tawa kami ng tawa after that. Taray talaga ng ate ko.

Hello!
Naku, ganyan talaga sa TST no! Never ever think of buying any electronics stuff there.
Anyway, going back to the topic, you can try Stanley Market, may mga bus sa Causeway Bay area going to that place. Pero nde lahat mura don, halo-halo din. Tourist prices yung iba e. Wherever you shop, it really pays to know the average prices para may reference for comparison ka. :)
