My advice, if you're a girl, go for it. It does wonders when you're "slurping the salami" but if you're a guy don't bother...unless you've got a really long and flexible tongue. :D

I have my tongue pierced. I say go for it. I didn't bleed at all...i got mine 2 and a half years ago. You can't really eat solid food for the first 3 days..after that, it's fine. You have to use oral antiseptic for 2 weeks or so..after that, u have to gargle with listerine for a month . I didn't have any complications whatsoever as long as you're clean. I couldnt smoke nor drink alcohol for around 2 weeks or so..no oral sex or french kissing either for around 2 weeks. I actually cheated a bit because i smoked up the night after i got my tongue pierced. nothing serious happened :lol: :D

yeah, i've heard that the actual piercing itself doesn't really hurt.. but the aftercare is the demanding part.. like you really have to look after what you eat, drink, etc..

trinity: how long did the swelling last for and how did you deal with it? i've read from other posts that the swelling was really a pain in the ***.. (or should i say mouth.. hmm).

iieee-it swelled really bad for the first 3 days...after that..medyo medyo...you can actually see the bar go up and down after a week. It's not really a pain. I'd say my tattoo care was more of a pain more than my tongue piercing. As i said in my last post, you can't eat solid food for the 1st 3 days, you can't smoke, drink alcohol nor engage in oral sex for 2 weeks. You cannot donate blood until after a year you got your piercing(or tattoo). For the first 2 weeks, you have to gargle oral betadine 3 times a day and then after that, you have to gargle listerine for a month. as i said again from the last post, if you are very clean, it's not a big deal.

I had my belly button done last year and it wasn't really painful at all -- the only real shock is the sound of the needle going through your skin :weep:. Unlike most people my wound wouldn't heal so it continued to weep and bleed right up until I decided to just let it close (8 months after I first got it done). They look great though and, unlike extra ear piercings or other facial ones, you can hide it when you need to.

It didn't bleed continuously for the entire time it was in but every single time it would catch, however slight, it would bleed. It always wept though. Basically it remained an open wound for that time.

the pain is very minimal so it's the least of your worries. if you're a little queasy then i suggest you don't watch when they do it: they pinch the flesh above your bellybutton and stick a large curved needle that kinda looks like a big fishing hook into it. but don't worry, it's over very quickly!:teehee:

just one thing though, like what FAM01.02.01 said, it's very high maintenance because the wound takes about 6-12 months to heal. you can't sleep on your stomach at first, you have to wear loose clothing and jeans that ride low on your hips, and you have to clean it a couple times a day so it won't get infected. but it shouldn't be a problem as long as you take care of it. i love mine so, to me, it's really worth it.:)

Had mine done a couple of years ago. One huge advice though, don't go when you're drunk. My friend and I had a few drinks b4 going and she was gonna get a piercing and ended up getting a tattoo. I had to convince her not to get one of a frog! (or a turtle maybe, can't really remember). She ended up getting a daisy. Anyway, it doesn't hurt that much (the piercing), just make sure you wear loose clothing when you go, I was wearing a tight tank top - not very smart. And make sure you follow all the cleaning directions. I did and mine still took almost a year to heal. And mine didn't bleed (it's not supposed to, go back to the place if it does), but it did get infected (lovely) even though I was really careful with it. Also, you better make sure you've got tons of low-rise pants. That's about it, sorry can't be more helpful with where you can get it, haven't been in the Phil. for almost 8 years! Hope to be back soon though. ***!

personally, my tattoo hurt more than my tongue ring :p the first 3 to 5 days, you can't eat solid food but after the swelling subsides, you wouldn't even remember you actually have your tongue pierced. I eat my food the normal way and no, it doesn't taste like metal. it's surgical steel which is very light.

i had my navel pierced last year with out my parents' and my boyfriend knowing. i did it on a moment of craziness...they weren't very happy when they found out about what i did. it didn't hurt and it didn't bleed but i do remember not being able to bend forward for a few weeks...

one thing i'll never forget is how that needle went through my skin...

but unfortunately the stud fell one gimik at malate it closed very quick, after 5 hours i couldn't get the thing through the hole so there...sayang.

i had mine done in bangkok.

i think they have at filinvest. one hting is that you should make sure that they use a sterilized needle. and remember the cleaning instructions.

it swells a lot..the first week, u can barely see the bar..u can just imagine that the tongue's girth is as big as the bar(well, it also depends on the length of the steel bar). But after that first week, the swell goes down and you can start playing with the bar. AS for infections, as long as you're very clean...you have to gargle antiseptic wash for 2 weeks or so and after that, you use listerine or something. You can't smoke for a week..but i dispelled that because that night of my piercing, i did a little wacky tobacky with my friends :smokin: and it's pretty obvious that you can't really french kiss or engage in oral sex for a couple of weeks as well ;) i haven't heard of any of my friends who have their tongue pierced who went ahead to do funky stuff with their tongues and mouths during the first couple of weeks of the piercing since it would hurt like hell. hehehe.

used to have my tongue pierced for 2 yrs and ran up to 10 gauge with my barbel ehehhe... i outgrew it so now sa ears na lang.. left ear i have whut they call a reverse tragus orbital and sa right ear my tragus and anti tragus pierced.. hirap iexplain pero its names of each part of ur ear :p ... if u guys really take care of ur piercings nothing will go wrong..

Bellybutton - don't wear tight jeans for about 2 weeks and clean it twice with antibacterial soap( non scented)

tongue - gargle with listerin after u brush ur teeth and the first 3 days u have it don't eat anything thats dairy ..milk ice cream yogurt etc.. it'll build up bacteria quickly and gets infected.. don't play with it for the first 3 days..it'll heal after 2 weeks

lip n labret piercing - gargle wit listerine..juz keep it clean..

nipple- wash with anti bacterial soap.. if u guys have bactine apply it with a q tip 3x a day too..same as the belly pierce

Marami na akong nakitang mga lalaki na may hikaw sa ear, eyebrow, nipple, tounge, etc.

especially teenager, some of them like to do piercing coz it makes them cool but for me its really not cool....and I'm a teenager. I ask almost of them why they do it? sagot ng karamihan ay kasi *USO* and sikat ka daw kung may hikaw ka sa body parts mo........

Some guys also told me that kapag nakita daw sila ng GIRL, girl thought that they are strong......like having a permanent tatto.............."whatever" i say..... it doesnt make any sense.... I guy cant be so strong or brave dahil nagpabutas lang sila sa part ng body niya.....

I have two on my left lobe. That girl who did my ear suggested it that way since I was buying a pair, and I wasn't about to bore holes on my right. I've always wanted them but never had the guts until in 1998 when I worked in San Francisco where almost every guy including the senior population have them.

God would care less since this age-old man-&-piercing concept dates way back since God knows how far back. He would probably react if I wear something offensive like an inverted crucifix or a swastika.

I only felt wierd when with our company execs years ago though some did have them so that went cool. It also felt strange last May 2001 when we were back in PiNAS, but then again that shouldn't be of any surprise. :)

but then again the reason why i took my piercing off is because it undeniable attracts only some and leaves the others repulsed. basically in this society piercings, tattoo, branding and insertions has lost its original charm.

Body piercing for me is okay. It's also a form of self-expression. You can't blame people who have them for being creative and daring in that way. Of course, less is more. The simpler the better (even in tattoes).

I've experimented with piercing (nipple, tongue and belly button) - all of them are gone now. I went through a piercing phase, but it came and went. At the time I think I did it because my mom and dad didn't think I'd have the guts to go through with it.

With guys, I don't like earrings. They just seem juvenile - especially when you see 40 year old men with earrings (an attempt to recapture one's youth perhaps? Who knows...). The eyebrow piercing is pretty cool...but once you get past your mid 20s any piercings seem a little off.

PoLo_GiRL it wasn't really painful. it's the swelling which will last for four days. mahirap kumain. i only ate mashed potatoes and ice cream and a lot of ice cold drinks. but since di ko na nakayanan kumain, i started eating after 2 days.

if you want to have your tongue pierced, dapat you're in the right mood/attitude or something like that. me, it took me two years to decide whether to have it or not. on the day i've felt that it's time, i went to the piercing shop immediately.

it's a choice. it's like choosing what clothes to wear. i have my eyebrow pierced for a simple reason, i like it.

a lot of people like it, some don't, some approached me and asked me how it's done and if it was painful.

originally i wanted to have the area below my lower lip pierced but since i have facial hair, the artist asked me that it's better to have it somewhere else.

so i said, let's just make it my left eyebrow. and i like the result.

i really don't mind if people don't like it. but sometimes i remove it for certain reasons, not because i'm forced to.

piercing is a self-expression. like tattoo. i don't care about it coz it's their body. i'm not affected with it.

sometimes, i admire a person who wears something which a lot of people think that it's not good on him/her. but still he/she still feels good about himself/herself.

i think it's kinda pathetic that we are wearing something and everyone finds it cool. but inside you, you don't feel you're not being yourself.

I have a navel pierce, got it nung summer in Galleria .. I forgot the name of the store basta its located dun sa isang lane [floor below skybowl] they do tatoos rin and stuff..

anyway, it was 700 pesos pero discounted cuz there were 5 of us. It didnt hurt at all... for me ah, ewan ko lang sa iba. mas masakit pa nga yung sa ears eh..

but after a month i took it off, na infect and basta, it became kadiri..so now, i have this peklat on my navel na mas pangit tingnan..my mom said she'll bring me nalang to a proffesional to have it pierced again para macover yung peklat..

Right now, I do have a nose ring & tongue pierce. Ang sakit ng 2 parts na ito sobra! Well, sa tongue medyo ok pa, di naman siya dumugo pero,nag-swell siya grabe! Good thing nag-heal agad in 2weeks lang! Yung nose ring naman super sakit! As in sobra! Grabe yung bleeding nya, I dont know why, lumabas kasi agad ako sa shop after I had it done, then I remember wiping it with a lot of tissue while waiting for a train sa subway kasi grabe yung dugo!!! Hehehe..... I had my piercings in Tokyo and almost 3 years na both nose & tongue...

ilovenikolai, if I were you wag kana pa pierce nose kung aalisin mo lang kasi ang pangit talaga pag inalis mo... It heals,but it takes some time... And may tendency na magka-scar siya... In my case naman, inalis ko yung ring then pinalitan ko ng regular na hikaw para maliit lang yung butas.. Hehehe :naughty: it works though... Mas ok naman... :)

depende siguro sa papasukan mo. But if one will look proper for an interview, act and talk smart, and syempre a good resume and a good transcript of school grades; a body piercing wherever it may be, would not be a hindrance para ma accept ka dun sa work mo.

pero kung aanga anga ka sa interview, la na talaga. lalo lang makakasama sa image yung piercing. impression na "ano ginagawa ng taong ito sa buhay nya" thing.

i had my navel pierced 2 years ago.. got it in galleria for P700 ata.ok naman sya, di sya masakit, you really have to clean it with betadine para mas mabilis mag-heal. Yung sa upper ear ko yung matagal magheal, inabot ng one year.. pero ok na sya. current worry ko though, pag matagal na yung ring sa belly button parang lumalaki din ang butas, ang chaka :-( so minsan tinatanggal ko for a week or so, but binabalik ko din coz' ayoko syang magclose.

I think hindi nag heheal ang tongue piercing ever. Hindi mo lang maibalik *** hikaw nya ng hours magsasara na ulit yan. Ganyan kasi *** nanyari sa friend ko, he had his tongue pierced and years na nakakabit *** hikaw sa tongue nya. One time sinubukan nya tangalin *** hikaw nya at nakalimutan nya ikabit, then the next day nung binabalik nya na *** hikaw nagsara na *** butas.

I have nipple and navel piercing. Take note, ako lang nag butas pareho nyan lakasan lang ng loob (using sterile syringe). Nipple piercing takes about 3-6 months bago mag fully heal. Pinakamatagal talaga mag heal ang navel piercing (more than a year) and once fully healed hindi po sya nag sasara maski hindi mo lagyan ng hikaw. From my experience, saline solution ang pinaka effective pang linis ng raw piercing.

It takes 8-12 weeks for cartilage piercing to heal, I've read that it's better to wait a full 6 months before you change earrings (arrgh).
Aftercare for cartilage piercing consists of: cleaning the area 2-3 times a day everyday with saline (I use Blairex), sea salt soaks, lavender oil or emu oil (no alcohol, iodine, or petroleum based antimicrobials) and antimicrobial cleanser (I'm using Satin).

Question: Does anyone know where I could get diamond stud barbells? All I see online are barbells with cubic zirconia studs (which is the one i'm stuck with now :depressed:)

Inquire sana ako. Last 5 days nagpa Helix peircing ako, wala namn bleeding or soreness until day b4 yesterday. I believed namaga siya after kumain ako ng Sinigang na Lapu2. After ko kasi kumain nun bigla nalang nangati tainga ko at kinamut ko, siguro just couple of mins bigla siya namaga. Bale stud earring ang nilagay kaya last night ngdecide ako na tanggalin dahil naiipit na nga sa sobrang maga.

Ang itsura ng ear ko *****, bale pulang pula at namamaga, sa likod **** parang may kaunting Lump. Mainit din pakiramdam ng tainga ko. I would prefer na magpaconsult sa doctor pro last option ko na siguro yun..

Help nmn kung ano magandang gwin..

I have self-pierced my left ear lobe back in 1997 and its still there.....no more on the face....just that one piece earring will do......

However on the neck down, its a different story. I had both my nipples pierced last 2 Feb and they still aren't completely healed but they don't hurt like they used to....I just don't have the courage to replace them yet until after the 6th month I guess....

Two weeks ago I had my PA plus the cobra hump. I've always seen westerners with PA and I thought it hurts like hell...but to my surprise it was quick and It didnt hurt....no blood stain no nothing...only a slight pinch....

Its already healed I think but I don't intend to replace the piercing until after the 6th month......now the cobra hump is the exact opposite.....The healing process is a ***** and until now I am still hurting.

The only reason I decided to have them on me was because I thought they looked sexy on me and I personally liked them and wanted them. The cobra hump was just out of curiousity.....they told me all the jailguards in Manila City Jail have it....hehehe....pero no regrets.

My advice to anyone who likes to go through piercings or implants or tattoos is.....do it for the right reasons.... and don't forget to clean them with antibacterial soap and baby oil daily. As for the PA, your wee-wee is already the perfect antiseptic....that's why it healed very quick.

The price of the nipple piercing is Php500 per nipple. The PA is Php1500. I had them done sa Recto para mura....so If you're thinking of having them done at Cartimar....the minimum price they charge for piercings is Php1000....I did my homework.

As for my next project, I think I'll be getting my first ever tattoo....hopefully Ricky Sta. Ana of Skinworkz would be available.
