im transferring next sem to another school it seems that i was mistaken in choosing CSB. its really just a gimmick haven for college kids who have a lot of money to burn, and to think i enrolled because of its innovative courses but it turns out that there is a lot of things missing... like competent professors and dedicated students.

I've been to CSB before I transferred to DLSU-main in my freshman year as a college student (I'm a graduate of DLSU-Manila). Like in any other school, yes, there are students who does not know the value of education. CUt class dito, cut doon, pagdating ng end of term, iiyak-iyak sa harap ng prof, magmamakaawa. Pathetic. Pero there are also students who try there best and work their butts off. Syempre, sari-sari rin ang tao sa CSB tulad sa ibang school diba? May tamad, may masipag, may sobrang yaman, may middle class etc etc. So therefore they are not bobo and tamad in general. I dont believe ALL Benildeans are like that.

Nevertheless, I commed the institution and the administration's efforts on trying to uplift the image of CSB.

correct ka dyan!! ako naman kakagraduate ko lang ng csb last term.. grabe nung graduation nammin. alma matter song lang d pa alam ng iba. sa totoo lang konti lang talga natutunan ko sa csb. pano pati mga prof tamad din pumasok! sayang lang yung tuition na binayad ng parents ko.. pwede lumaban ang csb sa ibang school sa up, ateneo, etc... pero sa pagandahan ng facilities lang ha!! wala naman gnagawa ang benilde kung nde pagandahin yung facilities nila eh panay corrupt kse! nag dagdag pa sila ng subj. sa mga course mga walang kwentang subj. para lang humaba yung term ng students and every term tumataas ang tuition! bakit pa tnawag ng tri-sem kung tagal ka din gagraduate dahil sa mga unecessary subj.! most of the benildeans i know pa are heavy drug users!! dami nga nahuli mga taga csb ng mga nbi. bnayaran lang nila para makalusot sila!

I don't know about the other courses at CSB, but the School of Hotel and Restaurant Institution Management(SHRIM) has already uplifted its image among 5-star hotel managers around manila, in short they are impressed of CSB's performance based on the HRIM practicumers who work for their respective hotel, CSB has already contacts and linkages with different culinary institutions here and abroad, one of them is F.C.I.(French Culinary Institute - NY). Later on, there will be a SHRIM dress protocol effective after midterms.

About the students... pls don't generalize every benildean, not all benildeans are within your prejudiced thoughts. Its because you people see the ones who are not excelling, the ones who aren't active, and the ones who don't care about their college education. Why don't you people see benildeans who are molded towards tha brighter side, the ones who are leaders of orgs, ones who are awarded, the ones who seek challenge and improvement, the ones who are "matino". The courses offered may not have any relevance to medicine, professional law, engineering and etc... but in the Philippines' economical and hospitality activities, CSB trains students to be multi-skilled depending on what course you are in, and the teaching methodologies of the "good teachers" here are what reality has to give us in the future, besides... whatever we learn here and whatever course we graduate here... we are capable of earning money too, we are capable of being popular, we are capable of being good working filipinos.

But............ everything will have to depend on the individual from the start to make his/her way up to riches and popularity.

I agree! My brother is currently taking consular studies there and if only for that I'd say csb is more in to less popular courses which would not run in conflict with lasalle main quality courses; but honestly the fees are high enough to make you tour asean countries for a week!:D

Facilities here in Benilde are improving and info-technology are advanced, the quality resources are here at CSB, but if only most of the Benildeans would realize it... and make use of the facilities as well as to appreciate, i'm very certain that Benildeans would be so proud of their school. For the HRIM course, the best facility that CSB has offered is the building CSB-International Conference Center that houses HRIM facilities and being a hotel-school itself, which HRIM practicumers has to undergo practicum at the ICC and a hotel outside to complete the requirements.

The tuition here is so pricey, but this is not a disadvantage as how people see it, take my course(BS-HRIM) for an example, for my BARMLEC/LAB(Bar Management), our lab fee would is so expensive, because CSB orders wines, liquors and liqueres that are of high class(some local, some imported) and pricey which pulls up the lab fee and makes it expensive. But look at it at the bright side, we get to taste those expensive liquors/liqueres and wines and do some cocktail drinks out of it that other HRIM schools couldn't offer their students.

CSB's Multi-Media Arts(MMA) computers are ones that belong to the top of the line, that is why MMA students championed the recent MMA inter-school competition. The computers are expensive... the lab fee is high... but what's inside of every MMA computer here introduces MMA students programs and softwares that would enable them to be one step ahead compared to the other schools, which would also give ideas to what MMA students should buy regarding about advanced programs and softwares when they have their own MMA work computer in the future as well as when they put up their own business.

Programs here are so simple... arts-related, which needs the use of the 9 intelligences of a human being. Other schools, including some of DLSU-Manila degrade us because they judge Benildeans about how systematically and mathematically intelligent they are in the courses that their school offers, they would never judge us by the purpose of our chosen education here at CSB, which students from other schools think that Benildeans aren't capable of having brains equivalent to theirs... that's where prejudism against CSB started. But what students from other schools don't realize is that here in CSB, Benildeans use their brains too, but the contest here is not how smart you are, it how CREATIVE you are with the trends of reality, depending on what course you are into which makes striving Benildeans competitive and smart. Being creative means you have to use your intelligence to do something(wthere it be a product or something else) that would surpass someone who's on top for a better profit. People don't realize that its very hard to come up with trendy products that would be profitable.

Even as simple as Dancing... infact, CSB offers dancing courses, dancing would never get out of trend in this world because it is entertainment. Popularity and wealth can be earned by simply dancing. Besides, you have to work your way up tp different dancing skills and etc.

Fashion design, there are only a few schools who offers such course since it is not a traditional course that DLSU-Manila and other colleges and universities offer, the world today is FASHION, take fashion TV for instance, if they can do fashion, why can't filipinos do it? Its a good thing that CSB offers such course to Filipinos who wishes to indulge into the fashion world, then again they can get wealthy and popular by simply designing clothes using the artistic side of their brains... that's if.... they work hard.
