Why is it that any kind of display of opinion is translated by parents as agressiveness and is always taken against their children? :argue: Its a common trait that I find among the parents I know. For them , their word is the law. If its unfair, they say "the law is harsh, but it is the law." There are no room for arguments and for allowances (at least, most of the time). Now why is it like that? Why is it okay for the parent to chastise their children but not for the children to chastise their parents, especially when they are in need of it? :bash: I just don't get it. :mconfused:

The answer would be pride. Sometimes, parents are too proud to accept that they're wrong and that their children are right. We shouldn't generalize though, because there are some parents who are reasonable.

the answer is quite simple. ours is a paternalistic culture. rather than asking why, we should be thinking of a subtle way where we can tell them they're wrong and we're right without them realizing what we're doing.
