in some schools CAT is not much more than glorified PE, on Friday afternoons.

others take it so... very seriously, with the whole battle gear.
and Saturdays wasted. (as if that old SOB Quezon was watching their every move)

in what catagory does your school fall under?

my CAT in high school was definitely cumbersome. we had to do the commando crawl outdoors at the time mount pinatubo erupted. (yup, i'm that old.) nwei, the ashes reached metro manila kasi and when we were through crawling, we all looked like human espasol.

we had to squat while holding armchairs over our heads and we had to finish eating our lunch under a long table at the count of ten.

there was a time pa na pinaghaluhalo nung officers yung lunch namin sa dahon ng saging...so parang kanin baboy yung dating. pero naka blind fold kami nung kinain namin. tasted awwful!

Our CAT was sometimes hard, sometimes easy but it sure was fun and meaningful.

We were so lucky to have a commandant who knew how to make this commonly despised subject into something everybody (from the Officers to the lowest ranking Cadet) would appreciate and love.

Our activites are too lengthy to discuss, but If you like to see more info about the unit I was in during High school, visit http://www.geocities.com/ccdbm2000 :)

Mahal ka namin kaka! :soldier:

ours is walang kwenta and sobrang dali! you can just imagine us spending some few afternoon fridays under the setting sun ...few lang kasi (i dunno) pero madalas nadedeclare na no classes ang friday namin. we didn't even had a CAT graduation.

add to that, our CAT officers' purpose in becoming an officer is to get even with the popular ones cuz they have often been teased, laughed at, etc.,

walang kwenta pa CAT namin kasi napakadaming naging issue sa mga CAT officers ...SCANDALOUS ONES! like na lang nung 2 CAT officers na non-stop ang pakikipagliplocking with one another kapag nasa headquarters sila. and like na lang nung love story ng 2 CAT officers with another fellow cadet member ...o de vah naman??? :sweatdrop2:

nakaka-disillusion. I wonder why I even tried out for COCC in the first effin' place!

maybe I was just trying to be like my older sister, who turned out to be chief medic of the whole squad.

batch namin talaga walang kwenta, *******! :yuck:

It was way, way more tiresome than the college ROTC at the Ateneo. The Saturdays we spent marching and practicing drills for our city fiesta were particularly memorable. Plus we had to march like hell and eat garbage (yes, a mixture of rice, egg, calamansi and God kows what else the officers decided to put into it). After the city fiesta, where we were made to march around the city proper, CAT life became a tad more manageable, if harder still the RO thing.

im a senior in highschool right now and i have to say im really proud our CAT. Im an MP so i have special priveleges. We've done a lot this year like the camping trip we had last December. Then we had the chance to assemble an M1 Garand rifle which was the coolest thing i've ever done in my life.
Kwento ko lang sa inyo yung camping namin. It was in San Miguel ,Bulacan which was the home of the real Scout Rangers. It was really scary at first cause we you see the place you get the idea that this was the real deal and you can't fool around cause you're in a real boot camp. Our quarters were "pamatay" as in we slept in steel bunk beds na walang kutson at puro kalawang talaga.
Pero there were also the happy momnets on camp. We got to rappel (the best!), target shooting (i cant believe na magaling pala ko sa tutukan! Pinuri pa ko ng commandant namin!), war games, ambush exercises (ito yung may bigla nalang magpapaputok then dadapa lahat whereever you are kasi sa putik), campfire (it was really fun!) and the obstacle course. I remember when we got there a lot of us girls were making arte kasi it was raining so it was really muddy and we didnt want to get our combat boots muddy. But at the end of the day, not only our combat boots were muddy but as well as our fatigue, our clothes, our bodies, everything! Tapos wala pang liguan so punas punas nalang ang ginawa namin. It might sound kadiri but it was really memorable for us, not only did we get to see even the most vain guy or girl in school get muddy, all of us even enjoyed it! Pero we were still glad to go home kasi di kami makakaresist na di maligo ng 2 days!
