Nagtatanong lang po. neutral_ako, are you planning to major in psychology?!?! Do you plan to pursue this field by furthering your education in graduate school? If yes is your answer to my question. Then good for you! :)
However, if you're still unsure (and you're only taking this course because it "sounds good") perhaps a you should reconsider your decision. Please don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to talk you out of taking such a major. "Payong kapatid" lang to.
The reason being, i've many friends who've graduated BS Psych, that have been unsuccessful in finding "decent" careers with such a major. Although, this major "sounds interesting," is actually very difficult to attain a "decent job," when you've finally graduated (that is if you do not plan on going to grad school).
The main concern here is, "what actual skills from this major can you apply into the workforce?!?!....other than analytical perception." think twice.

Hi! BS-Psych major ako...from DLSU-M.
Regarding you question, I'd have to say that ADMU and DLSU are probably the better schools when it comes to Psychology. :) Honors program ang Psychology in ADMU. In your 4th year in ADMU, you will then have internships. And ADMU's grad school offers PhD in Psychology. Sa DLSU hindi nakalagay na quota ang Psychology, but trust me, it is. We only have two froshie sections of BS-Psych major this year. DLSU-M doesn't offer Psychology in their grad school, as of what I know. :) But it is very very interesting and competitive.
Medyo mahirap mag hanap ng job when you graduate, but you'll never know, you might actually land a spot in the HRD of maybe some rich company.....taas ang wage sa HRD. :)
I actually plan to go to med school when I graduate............kaya BS-Psych. :)
You could try AB-Psych.....it's actually a good pre-law...... :)

DLSU does offer Psychology in its grad school. My professors in Psych are taking their grad studies from the DLSU GRAD school, I had another teacher who is taking her doctorate at dlsu as well.
Anyway, re: the question, I think dlsu has a fairly good Psychology program, but I think ADMU's psychology course is better. However, DLSU is getting there..definitely! :)
Actually, Psych majors should have an easier time in getting jobs after college. they can go into almost anything. they can go into marketing, administration, counselling, med school, hr, advertising..etc etc.. Well, I guess pag AB psych ha, kasi mas ma-science ang BS psych e..so I guess d sila ganon ka exposed sa mga industrial psychology. :)

first of all, let's dismiss the AB/BS Psychology myth... there is really no distinction ASIDE from the number of science courses (i.e. chem/bio/physics). the same psychology curriculum is given --- same psych classes, kumbaga. difference lang talaga sa other nonpsych parts of the curriculum.
about psych being prelaw... technically, there is no real PRELAW course. you could be an engineering student and still successfully finish law school. yun nga lang mas may training ka kung Political Science graduate ka. at may early start ka na in terms of discipline...
about psych being premed... the same applies to psych as a premed. only thing is siguraduhin mong makukuha mo yung science classes na mas makakatulong sa iyo (i.e. yung requirements ng iba't ibang med schools). my brother's in his third year med proper sa UERM. he's a graduate of BS Bio in UP. sabi niya lagging behind daw talaga sobra sa first year yung mga kaklase niyang psychology graduates (vs. chem/biochem/molecular bio/biology/physics grads). why? well, psychology is a totally different discipline... literally. iba ang disiplina sa pag-iisip sa biology, at iba sa psychology. biology is more rigid and definite, while psychology is more of a soft science. sa simula pa lang, talo na ng mga bio majors yung psych majors. definitely, if you want an edge in med, go to bio.
anyways, ateneo psychology is good. though it could be a lot better. =) (shempre ibang point yung mga sinagot ko :D)

hi...i'm an atenean...majoring in psychology...
biased if i tell you na ateneo is the best when it comes to psych...
well, i think i'll stick to that...many professors from different schools said that ateneo is the best when it comes to psych...(take note...when it comes to psych...not in any other things like basketball...)
that's why i enrolled there...
but then. i was also considering UP when i was in high school...actually, chose bs psych as my first choice in UP...
the psych dept of ateneo is really good...you have to see and experience it yourself...
ingatz mga peeps!!!:D

Yeah, right (without offense to the PolSci majors, because the statement applies to every major)

well no not really. i'm not merely talking about discipline in terms of i need to study this or do that (i.e. plain work ethic). the fram of mind of a psychology graduate is different from that of an english literature major. psychology undergrads are trained (ideally) to think in terms of psychological theory, and thus they're take on things are ultimately almost always psychological. english literature majors are trained to look at structure of reading material, content and stuff like that. iba yung mga bagay na tinitingnan nila, at dahil dito, iba rin yung paraan ng pag-iisip nila.
another example: a psychology experiment and a chemistry experiment have similarities. they're both experiments. they both need data to make a conclusion. they both need to be performed as precise and accurate (truthful) as possible. but they also have inherent differences. experiments in psychology deal with people; experiments in chemistry often don't deal with people. in chemistry, one needs to be exact in measurements; in psychology one needs to think about the method being employed to be sure that one gets the most accurate results possible.
labo ba?
may disciplina sa bawat larangan, pero iba-iba ang disiplina. iba-iba ang paraan ng pag-iisip. iba-iba ang paraan ng pagsasagawa. yun...

The UP Psych is the best in the country. I think even the Ateneo Psych agrees to this. Pero, the MSU-IIT Psych is ok na rin.
My ranking:
1 - UP Diliman
2 - Ateneo
3 - UST
4 - DLSU
5 - MSU IIT
