Just wanted to share..... from DLSU homepage
De La Salle University - Canlubang
DLSU is planning to put up a new campus in Canlubang, Laguna with the primary purpose of decongesting the Manila campus and developing DLSU Manila as a research university with an emphasis on graduate education.
The plan is to turn the 51-piece hectare of land in Canlubang into a "total university" or the "University of the Future". DLSU Canlubang will offer many types of programs; one of which is that students can earn their degree without spending much time at the school.
A grade school and a high school department may be put up as well, but the long-term goal is to have as many colleges as possible in the proposed campus.
Imagine, 51 hectares! DLSU-manila nga 5.4 lang eh. :)
I'm really looking forward to this.....

Hmmm...... This plan, upon implentation, will be so great especially when people who pass by Taft-Vito Cruz starts to realize that traffic becomes to be a little untangled and eased up in that particular area in Manila.
but, does it mean that some undergrad college courses will be moved to Canlubang, Laguna? will that not be hassle to those LaSallians who may be affected by changes that may take place?

My thoughts exactly. After having read it, the first thing that came into my mind was the word "hassle". I certainly hope that when this project pushes through, they won't move all undergrad courses to laguna. DLSU-manila will become a grad school instead?

That Canlubang Campus is a project of Ayala Land. They tried contacting the big 4 universities to branch out in that land area they offered (51 hec) so that it will be easy to develop a community, syempre, anything goes when a school is entablished, much more kung may reputation. Look at Sampaloc and Intramuros, 'di ba?
Mind you, UST was the first to be offered of that project. UST refused however since a pilot campus is already proposed in Baguio with a land area of 98 hectares--will match taht of UP! (UST is only 22 hectares).
Ateneo however, is also branching out in Filinvest Alabang. UP naman, of course, we all know they're everywhere.
Good Luck to LA SALLE Canlubang. Let us begin spreading quality education throughout the country.
