BREAKING NEWS!!!

Shauntay Hinton of DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA is MISS U S A 2002!

A Broadcast Communications major at Howard University, Shauntay plans a dual career as a news anchor and entrepreneur, with a network of health and beauty day spas. Volunteering at the Fannie Mae Walk to End Homelessness, Miriam’s Kitchen and Partnerships for Positive Alternatives, keeps this Washington, D.C., native busy when she is not working as a customer service representative for a local bank.

She's her state's 2nd ever Miss USA winner after Bobbi Johnson way back in 1964.

Yup, Shauntay won Miss USA 2002! She works for a news network and therefore, knows how to talk, talk and talk... this is her forte. This greatly helped her in answering the judges questions.

If you didn't notice, Shauntay's seems to be a clone of Academy Award nominee Halle Berry!
http://www.missusa.com:81/delegates/images/main/dc.jpg http://www.jazm.com/gallery/img/hberry_0301a.jpg
Unknown to many, Halle was Miss Ohio '86. She was 1st RU to Texas' Christy Fitchner in Miss USA 1986. Halle surprised the judges and audience during Miss World '86 with her figure and daring national costume-- which I believe was a bikini with the Stars & Stripes design! :)

It's definitely too early to tell if she'll make it or not in MU2002... basta all we know is she always aces her interviews... Parang Brooke Lee nung 1997... a lot were disappointed with victory in Miss USA... but when the MU97 finals came, it was an entirely different story...

Saka BLACK is definitely IN!!

Countries like Sweden, Honduras, Mexico, Colombia and the Dominican Republic-- that usually sends either white or brunette girls-- are sending BLACK girls this year. This is definitely a record. I won't be really surprised to see if most of the MU2002 semi-finalists are black. It's the trend today.

This has led me to believing that Charisse Arayi (the half-Nigerian stunner) did not make it to the Magic 25 of Bb. Pilipinas 2002 simply because there's a big possibility of her winning the top plum. And if this happens, she won't get noticed in MU2002-- given the large number of black delegates already. For short, Charisse would just be filling-- pie filling. She won't stand out.

Kaya nga Zorah told me, she wants Bing to win because as of now, she's the most physically-prepared contender na bagay talaga for Miss Universe. She's also intelligent and is an achiever in her own right. Bing also has the strong and exotic Asian features that Madame Stella de Araneta wants.

Here are Shauntay's runners-up:

1st RU: KANSAS Lindsay Douglas
2nd RU: INDIANA Kelly Lloyd
3rd RU: MINNESOTA Lanore van Buren
4th RU: CONNECTICUT Alita Dawson

yeah tama ka nga jensie, I understood why the Nigerian girl did not make the cut sa Bb. Pero ang dami talagang mga B O B O na nagpopost sa Mabuhay protesting why she did not make the cut. Di man sila nagiisip at nauuna ang mga emotions nila. Oh well... para kasing ngayon lang sila nakakita ng mga stunners.... hehehe

REgarding with Miss USA, how did you get the info about the gowns and swimsuit scores? Miss DC was really a surprise talaga.

O nga eh... ewan ko ba sa mga posters sa message board na yun! One BIG word to describe them-- PATHETIC.

My cousin who lives in NY was watching it. She e-mailed all the scores, updates, and dish on the DOT as the pageant was happening.

Aside from her e-mail, I also checked at the American Beauty Messageboard to verify and confirm them. Sigurista noh?! :)

Here are some of her dish on the Miss USA 2002 pageant:

1.Miss Texas changed her gown! She wore that elegant white tube gown that she was wearing when she was crowned Miss Texas USA in July last year.

2. Co-host Ali Landry interviewed some of the delegates who failed to make the Top 12 cut. One of them was Miss Mississippi. A lot of people assumed Heather was sour graping coz she was dishing out the *****iest delegates in this year's pageant. She refused to name names, though...

3. Miss New York made it to the Top 12 because of the 9-11 thingie. But the moment she got in, the judges were quick to get rid of her. She was ranked 12th on both swimsuit & gown competitions.
http://www.missusa.com:81/delegates/images/main/ny.jpg

4. Michael Bolton performed his new song Only A Woman Like You during the Opening Number.

5. Judge Jermain Jackson, pop superstar Michael's sibling and an Indiana resident, gave the black semi-finalists HIGH scores. This had a BIG impact on Shauntay's victory.
http://gs.cdnow.com/graphics/COVERART/local/L/68/86/00396886.jpg

6. cathybee's correct. 5 black delegates made it to Top 12 this year. Of this number, 4 made it to the Top 5. This is FIRST in Miss USA history.

7. A red-head won the Arpeggio Photgenic Award! She is Miss Florida Shannon Ford.
http://www.missusa.com/delegates/images/main/fl.jpg

8. Meredith McCannel of Montana was voted Miss Congeniality by her fellow delegates.
http://www.missusa.com:81/delegates/images/main/mt.jpg

9. The first runner-up, Miss Kansas Lindsay Douglas, could have been the PERFECT representative for MU2002.

Lara, sobrang maskulada si Shauntay noh? Kitang-kita yung cuts sa biceps niya. Naalala ko tuloy si Lynnette Cole... maskulada din yun, di ba?-- complete with her own set of abs.

Didn't you notice, that the reigning Miss USA, Miss Teen USA and Miss World are all BLACK? Shauntay and Marissa both have short and sabog hair and were both wearing WHITE when they won their respective pageants! What a coincidence!

It's definitely the trend in beauty pageants nowadays.

I wouldn't be really surprised if most of the semi-finalists in MU2002 are black!

Actually hindi pa... hindi naman kasi yun pageant lover just like us eh. But I'll tell her soon. Thanks. :)

Eto ang vibes ko for MU2002... feeling ko nakaka-suka talaga yung Top 10 combination. May 2 or 3 dark horses na pasok at talagang mapapaisip tayo where they came from. Tapos feeling ko yung country na mananalo this year ay nanalo na... at hindi baguhan!

Vibes lang naman... :)

Kelan start ng MU2002 vigil natin? :)

Hahaha! Ikaw talaga, Lara. :)

Anyways, at least ang mga nanalo before sa Miss Teen USA 1998 (Vanessa Minnillo) and Miss America 2001 (Angie Baraquio) ay parehong mga Pinay.

No other Asian nation can beat our winning streak... Aside from our victories in MU and MI, we also got to win in Miss Teen USA and Miss America. Cool, di ba? :)

Kahit sabihin pa nating Americans sila Vanessa and Angie by citizenship, Pinay pa rin sila by blood. :)

WHY THEY FAILED TO MAKE IT TO THE TOP 12:

Hawaii, Mississippi: Even though they had CHARM and FORM, they did not have HEIGHT.

Heather had perfection written all over herself... she might not have impressed the judges because of her height. Remember Malin Olsson? She's also 5'4" in height and was consequently swallowed alive during the MU2001 Presentation Show. Juliet on the other hand, despite her perfect figure, obviously stumbled on her evening gown...

I believe MUI is not prepared to have another short Miss USA this time around. Remember Kimmy Pressler in '99? She stands 5'2". Sure, she was charming and articulate during Miss USA. But the moment she stepped into MU99, it was an entirely different story. She was eaten and swallowed alive too.

Tennessee: This lady is an achiever in her own right. Having competed at Miss Teen USA '94 and Miss America '99 was enough to make her one of the most experienced girls in this year's Miss USA pageant. She could have stumbled on her swimsuit-- for as we all can see, Allison was not so toned and voluptuous.

Michigan: It's really unfortunate that when this state sends its strongest representative I've seen after Kenya Moore, Rebekah gets excluded from the semi-finals. She was perfect in her swimsuit. I believe it was her gown that did her.

Wisconsin: Another stunner that grabbed my attention at the very last minute, Cortney perfectly possesses the girl next door image. Her stunning looks and sexy frame could have brought her state's first Miss USA crown ever. I think she stumbled on her interview... I couldn't find any flaw or imperfection in her swimsuit & gown presentations!

Georgia: This girl was obviously at the right place on the wrong time. She wore a gown with earth colors... and sad to say, earth colors are definitely out this season. Had she joined last year, she could have made it because earth colors were still fashionable last year. Nowadays, WHITE is certainly in. I believe Heather did exceptionally well in her swimsuit and interview... she really failed because of her poor choice of evening gown.

Washington: Sure, Carly has the body and dress! But she surely does not know how to carry 'em. At first I was rooting for her because of her stunning looks. But in the end, her lack of schmaltz and spunk did her...

SOME MISS VENEZUELA TRIVIA:

- An average of US$ 60,000 are spent yearly in grooming EACH Venezuelan beauty queen for her respective pageant abroad. This fee covers surgery, make-up, weight training and dental services. Wardrobe selection is another story.

- Lufthansa German Airlines officially flies Osmel & Co. to the Miss Universe pageant venue. This began in 2000, when it flew them to Nicosia to support and watch Claudia.

- Top local TV and broadcasting station Venevision shoulders each of the 26 Miss Venezuela contestant's tuition fees in Osmel's La Quinta Miss Venezuela beauty school.

- Effective last year, all Miss World Venezuela winners will be crowned wearing swimsuits. This is to relive the classicism in the South American country's pageant industry.

- Every year, an average of 4,500 aspirants apply for the Miss Venezuela pageant. Osmel, considered the Pygmalion of Beauty Pageants, selects only 26 who will go on to be the official candidates.

- There is no such state state called Costa Oriental in Venezuela. You can even go check in any world or regional map and you won't find any. Osmel only made it up to add an extra candidate in his pageant-- the more candidates, the more profit he gets from sponsors.

- There are more plastic surgeons and dentists than pediatricians in Venezuela. This is so because of the rising demand for beauty and perfection in this pageant-crazy country. Recently, it topped a worldwide survey that wanted to find who the most vainest people on Earth were. Venezuelans topped the list. Nearly 60% of women and 47% of men in this country are always conscious of their looks and check their appearances in the toilet often.

- Osmel not only perfects his beauty queens' bodies, hair and skills... he also perfects their smile. He has hired the top dentists in the country to work on them if deemed necessary. This process is definitely bloody and cruel but the result-- flawless Farah Fawcett smiles.

- Angel Sanchez and Jose Maria Almeida are the 2 official designers of MVO. They are responsible for the stunning evening gowns of Claudia Moreno, Martina Thorogood, Minorka Mercado, Eva Ekvall, Vanessa Cardenas, Aura Zambrano, Alicia Machado, Marena Bencomo and Denyse Floreaño to name a few.

Yup I know. 5'4" was the official press released height of Kim, but she actually stands 5'2" barefoot. This was mentioned a lot of times in the old Tom's Page of Miss Universe Mania website and the old World Wide Beauty Pageant message board. Ang laki nga ng issue na ito noon eh.

Pageant & Modelling 101: An average of 1-3 inches are always added to the height (barefoot) of every pageant contestant or model to complete the press release of their profiles & stats.

Examples: Charlene stands 5'7" barefoot but her press released height was 5'9". Same thing goes with Zorah, whose official press released height in Bb. Pilipinas and MU2001 was 5'8", when she was actually only 5'6" barefoot.

Oh, unfortunately we never had the chance to discuss this topic. It's a sensitive topic.

OFF TOPIC:
I remember her saying before na her parents' plane ticket for the Manila - Los Angeles route (and vice versa) was shouldered by PAL. As we all know, Zorah won the PAL Sunniest Personality Award during the Bb. Pilipinas 2001 finals. With this award, she wins 2 roundtrip PAL First Class tickets of to any of it's destinations abroad. Ginamit ng parents niya yung prize niya na ito. Zorah's air fare was shouldered by Madame Stella.

From LA, they all had a stop-over at Miami to meet Arturo Marquez, Madame Stella's bro. Saka may property sila doon talaga sa Miami eh. Even Miriam and Lalaine made similar stopovers din doon before proceeding to Caracas to train. Tapos from Miami, direct flight na to San Juan. From San Juan, bus daw up to a certain sea port. Nasa isang island daw kasi yung Westin Rio Mar Hotel and Resort eh. This is the official residence of the MU2001 delegates.

Imagine, all 79 girls have to ride the ferry everyday to and from their hotel just to get to Bayamon on the main island. Medyo malawak daw kasi yung dagat na tatawirin.

about the gown..i think michigan wears a gown that's too...umm...hip! actually, i like her gown kase ang modern ng dating but i think i mentioned before (hmm...im getting memory loss na if i really mentioned it or not) na i saw a number of unconventional gowns that i really like becoz they are really hip pero im sure these gowns have no place in beauty contests yet! besides, michigan's gown really make her a tad shorter! parang ang liit liit nya talaga pero i must say shes really a looker naman...

Buti na lang talaga nahabol ko pa si kansas, she's really a looker in her gown...di ba sabi nga lagi, the gown can make or break you and that's what made her hehehe....

White pala uso ngayon ah..makiuso kaya hehehe....kelan naman kaya mauuso ang ibang kulay like umm...green or yellow or orange??!?!? (me thinking loud)

Very well said, cathybee! :)

Michigan's gown is NOT for pageants... it's either pang Academy Awards siya or pang-rampa. But it's very very elegant! Another example is Arianna David's gown in MU94... even Arthel Neville commented that it was not really for pageants but it was very daring and elegant.

It might take a while before MUI finally gets to "accept" these types of gowns.

Most of the white evening gowns we see in pageants were originally wedding dresses. Take the cases of Kim Pressler in Miss USA '99 and Andreina Goetz in MU90.

I also want to share that during MU95, the Namibia Host Committee initially announced that it will reward the MU95 winner with a baby female elephant. The committee further added that it would name the elephant after the winner for sentimental purposes. However, the elephant would not be flown together with the winner when she returns to her country. It will be housed in a special portion of the country's national wildlife reserve.

I wonder how "Chelsi" is doing at this very minute... :)

After taking a closer look on Miss Parana's ic, parang may mga fats ang kanyang legs. But malay mo, nawala na yang mga lumps, probably that pic was taken last year pa. She had a long time trimming down those fats.

off topic:
Tama ang sabi ni Jensie, sa swimsuit group photo I saw Miss District of Columbia, standing at the very top!!! You said the winner is always either standing at the top or at seated at the very bottom.

4 out of 5 finalists in the Miss USA last night were blacks because of Jermaine Jackson and the other black guy.
If you guys are smart enough to notice how these black judges are biased in judging their co-tribal contestants both in swimsuit and evening gown competition.
Jermaine alone gave 9.9 scores to all black finalists...how racist is that?
Even if the non-black judges are objective in giving the scores....the total scores of these African-American contestants will surely put them in the top spot.
***** naman ng mga puti kasi...don't they know reverse discrimation exists here in the US? dah!
Kasi ang ideology ng karamihang egoy, America owes them becasue of slavery...malalim na ito.

Basta pag may itim na judge, 100% bias yan sa itim na mga contestants....kahit pustahan pa tayo!

Hi ChicagoPinoy! :)

I agree in a way. Remember Miss Universe '99? This pageant holds the record for having the most number of black semi-finalists ever in MU history. There were Misses Jamaica, Botswana, Ghana and of course Venezuela.

That year, former undisputed heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield sat as a judge. Take note, he was the only black judge that year. He gave all these 4 black delegates whooping 9.9s! Pinakamababa na yung 9.80. Tapos generally mababa na yung binigay niya sa iba, compared to what he gave the black girls.

Here are the scores he gave them during the:
WORLD TOUR INTERVIEW:
JAMAICA: 9.98
GHANA: 9.98
BOTSWANA: 9.96
VENEZUELA: 9.99

OSCAR DE LA RENTA SWIMSUIT:
JAMAICA: 9.90
GHANA: 9.90
BOTSWANA: 9.80
VENEZUELA: 9.90

EVENING GOWN:
JAMAICA: 9.98
GHANA: 9.96
BOTSWANA: 9.95
VENEZUELA: 9.99

This explains how Ghana and Jamaica might have made it to the Top 10 over heavy favorites Misses USA, Panama, France, Brazil and a whole lot more. The good thing is, he also showered Miriam with high scores kaya nahatak siya sa Top 5.

What I don't agree with is that slavery thing you're saying... It's too exaggerated to say that. I know these people are over it na... matagal na matagal na yang issue na yan. For a fact, I know white and black people generally live in harmony nowadays. Siyempre full support lang sila talaga sa fellow black people nila, and nothing more.

TENNESSEE WILL RETALIATE

After Allison Alderson's non-inclusion into the Top 12 last Friday during Miss USA 2002, I know that Tennessee will be back with a real vengeance!

Here are the 2 ladies who might just go to Miss USA 2003:

Candice Marie Sanders of Brownsville narrowly missed the state crown for two consecutive years. She was 1st runner-up to Lisa Gayle Tollet and Allison Leigh Alderson who won in 2001 and 2002 respectively.

http://www.misstennesseeusa.com/2002_TENN/sanders.jpg http://www.misstennesseeusa.com/Allison_meet02.jpg
ABOVE LEFT: Candice's official headshot in Miss Tennessee USA 2002. ABOVE RIGHT: Candice (leftmost) during the Miss Tennessee USA 2002 finale.

I strongly believe Candice is a fighter who just wouldn't give up easily. I believe she'll join again this year. The Miss Tennessee USA 2003 pageant is scheduled for October 2002.

Another lady whom everyone is strongly persuading to join is Stephanie Culberson of Knoxville. She represented Tennessee in Miss America 2002 in September last year. She finished 2nd runner-up to Oregon's Katie Harman. If she indeed joins the state preliminaries, she will definitely be a strong contender for the Miss Tennessee USA 2003 crown, together with Candice.
http://www.missamerica.org/images/2001/Tennesse.jpg

I believe Tennessee won't allow itself to be pushed around easily. Gaganti sila for sure. :)

Yup I agree! In fact, para ngang Miss Teen USA na ito eh. I believe this is the 1st time ever in Miss USA history that the semi-finalists were called wearing jeans together with the casual get-up. Usually business attire at cocktail dresses eh.

Here's a glimpse of what delegates wore during the Top 10 announcement at Miss USA...

1998
http://www.pageant.com/missusa98/images/aastage4.jpg

1999
http://www.facepics.com/profiles/images/pageant79/pageant79_image1.jpg

http://www.facepics.com/profiles/images/pageant79/pageant79_image2.jpg

2001
http://www.globalbeauties.com/gb/images/usa01_top10.jpg

The most colorful year was 2000. During the announcement of the Top 10, all the 51 delegates were wearing cutting edge designs by Jill Stuart. Even though they looked a lot like night gowns, they were very stylish and sexy. It made all delegates look more foxy and seductive.

IT'S CONFIRMED!
http://www.bellezavenezolana.com/images/Malou.jpg
http://www.tv3.se/frokensverige/grafik/final3_300.jpg

Malou Hansson will indeed represent Sweden in MU2002.

A day after she bagged the Froken Sverige 2002 crown, "topless" pictures of her appeared and gained scrutiny from top local pageant organizers. Unknown to many, Malou recently modelled for a top Norwegian magazine before signing up for the local pageant.

MUI Public Relations Manager Mary Hilliard McMillan, released an official statement today confirming Malou's participation in MU2002. She clarified that Malou has not been disqualified because her photos were done in good taste and it showcased art and creativity. Mrs. Hilliard furthermore stressed that MUI is open to the idea of delegates posing "topless" as long as it was done for art and creativity's sake.

It can be recalled that Joyce Giraud and Helen Lindes also figured in similar cases during their years. MUI did not disqualify them.

Yup dapat nga last year pa pero hindi natuloy. Hopefully this year matuloy na.

Imagine, even Indonesia's also sending a delegate for MU2002. The last time it joined was in MU96. After nun, wala na. Miss Indonesia '96 Alya Rohali nearly pulled out of the pageant after the Indonesian government cried foul when her pic wearing a swimsuit was published on all Indonesian dailies.

2002 Bb. Pilipinas official candidates on parade

SHERYN RAM

One of the most refreshing faces I saw during the Bb. Pilipinas screening was Sheryn Ram. If you think her surname does not sound Filipino, you're right. Her dad is Indian while her mom is a Filipina from La Union. This 20-year old is a senior at St. Louis University where she is taking up Political Science.

Buti pa singapore, they were able to adjust with the times. sigh, I'm not gonna comment on Bb. hehehe

Oo nga eh. Speechless ako nung nakita ko mga pics nila. Ibang klase talaga. From virtually lousy girls, here comes Singapore back with a vengeance with these babes.

I just really hope Bing Alto wins on March 16.

Hi ChicagoPinoy!

Hello Jensie_G

Exaggerated? tanong ko naman..have you been in the US and lived in a big urban area? Kabayan, sa totoo lang ang mga itim e hindi pa nakakalimutan yan..slavery that is...Have you been watching the O'Reilly factor? maraming magagandang topics ang napaguusapan nila dyan and u can tell how blacks are so defensive and still bitter about their history...tanungin mo ang mga kaibigan mong nagtatrabaho sa malalaking syudad sa tate..they themselves can attest to that.
Blacks and whites living in harmony? (chuckle)....ha? Jensie, punta ka dito sa Chicago, o sa NYC..... u will see what I mean.
eniwey....i voted for Miss Texas or Kansas to win the crown. Washington DC should win the Miss Fitness USA...not Miss USA...Jermaine Jackson and the other black judge thought they were judging the Miss Black America.

Hi baby_boi! :)

Yup, thanks for reminding me... :)

Ayan I just remembered to add... there are also 2 Dutch representatives in MU2002. Miss Spain Lorena van Heerde (born of a Dutch father and was born and has lived in Amsterdam) and of course, whoever will win Miss Nederland Universe 2002. Hindi pa naho-hold yung national pageant nila eh. :)

La pang laman *** People's Republic of China's MU website kase they are still calling candidates pa lang.

Love the Jill Stuart's dresses! :inluv: So sexy noh! Sana kasya ako sa ganyan hehehe....

Oo nga, Ms. USA 2002 looks like Halle Berry kaya nga nung gumawa ako ng top contenders for the crown nilagay ko sya under beauty queen, actresses, etc look alike eh...pero in fairness, sya lang *** mukhang okay sa mga nainterview based on the press release of interview na nakikita natin sa web site nila before the pageant night. Si Chelsi Smith rin naman macho girl eh...pero nanalo pa rin sya ng Ms. Universe crown...because I think napull up nya grades nya with her interview then! I think Ms. DC did the same. So, to sum it all up and based na rin sa observation made by our avid posters here, crucial talaga ang interview scores..this could split the tie to make it to the top ten or twelve or fifteen ....

Si Ms. Florida naman hawig ni Mandy Moore hehehehe....

very true chicago, my sister who lives in l.a. can attest to that . . . we dont live in a dreamworld where everyone co-exists in harmony, so scrap the *#=@it about it...

anyways, jensie, just want to ask regarding charlene's height you mentioned. i don't think she stand 5'7". have you seen her up close? coz zack and i have definitely seen her at school, most especially zack coz they were of the same college and i can say she's not only 5'7".

also, we should stop comparing other candidates to our "very onw" zora, for example. saying they have shades of this or that (i am liable to that also hehe). hate it to admit it, but zora didnt make it even in the semi-finals...only consolation we had was that she was a crowd favorite, and i heard she's really mabait.

and since the BB. PILIPINAS is very near, why dont WE focus on them, coz whoever wins there, will represent us in the MISS UNIVERSE.

details about bb pilipinas should be given more emphasis now, rather than miss china or miss pluto or whatever, IMHO

peace!

Miss España 2002 season officially kicks off! :)

The 52 official candidates for the title of Miss España 2002 officially started this year's pageant season with a visit to Tunisia last week. The exposure trip's aim was to give them a background and glimpse on the country's rich and exotic African culture.

The coronation night is scheduled on March 17, 2002, Sunday. It will be held in the city of Algeciras, located near the Spanish-Maltese border.

The winner will represent Spain in Miss Universe 2003. The 1st RU will go to Miss World 2002 and the 2nd RU will go to Miss Europe 2002.

Excerpted from Jimmy's Pageant page:

POINTS OF INTEREST in the recently concluded Ms. USA:

2002 is the first time Connecticut has placed in the semi-finals since 1969...

Michigan ends their four-year semi-final streak... Tennessee misses the semi-finals for only the second time since 1996...

Extra semi-finalists due to a tie? Not the first time ... 1987, Nevada and Illinois had tie scores down to three decimal points, making the magic number of semi-finalists eleven...

COMPLETE LIST OF VETERANS in this year's Ms. USA at dito makikita kung sino talaga ang mga fierce competitor sa beauty pageants....i wasnt able to watch *** Exposed show sa studio 23...i know may ep sila before on the ongoings of beauty pageants kaya ngayon ko lang narealize na talagang buhay ng mga taong eto ang pagjojoin ng beauty contests

ALABAMA - Tara Tucker (AL-Teen USA 97)
ALASKA - Christine Olejniczak (AK-Teen USA 00)
COLOARDO - Keely Coe Gaston (CO-America 98)
CONNECTICUT - Alita Hawaah Dawson (CT-Teen USA 97)
INDIANA - Kelleah (Kelly) Ann Lloyd (IN-Teen USA 93, IN-America 99) a perfect example of the point that i raised
KENTUCKY - Elizabeth Arnold (KY-Teen USA 98)
MISSISSIPPI - Heather Soriano (MS-America 99)
MISSOURI - Melana Scantlin (MO-Teen USA 95)
PENNSYLVANIA - Nicole Dawn Bigham (PA-Teen USA 94)
TENNESSEE - Allison Alderson (TN-Teen USA 94, TN-America 99)

pero one thing's for sure, being a beauty contest veteran doesnt necessarily makes you a sure winner in the future pageants that you choose but it might help you in projecting well in the camera! halos lahat ng mga pinili ko e veteran pala e *** mga napili kong top contenders e feel ko may mga "the look" *** tipong maganda *** mga angle nila magpose hehehe....

This came up, after two years, AUSTRIA will be returning to Miss Universe!!!!!!!! This country has a very special place in my heart because I was just there only last year and knowing that Austria is coming back, God has answered my prayers!!!!! hehehe Well, even if she doesn't make it to the top 10, I will be rooting for her!!!!

Sternköniginschönheit von Österreich 2002 - Miss Austria returns to Miss Universe
http://www.onlymodels.co.uk/austria/sanja/sanja_examp020a.jpg

At spectacular event held at the Baden Casino in Vienna, this 22 year-old beauty took the crown out of a group of 11 lovely girls title of "Sternköniginschönheit von Österreich" (austrian Beauty for Miss Universe). She is 6'1", and will go to the Miss Universe Pageant in Puerto Rico. She won prizes of jewllery, dresses and a new car for winning this. She represents Austria in Miss Universe after 2 years. First runner-up is Patricia Kaiser, Miss Austria 2000, who will now go to Miss tourism world pageant, and second runner-up was Michella Setlur, and it is unknown where she will go.

As they say in German, "Viel Glück Frau Österreich" Good luck Miss Austria!!!!!

Hi gang!

As usual, delayed reaction na naman ako. Sa office lang kasi ako nakakainternet e. Sa bahay, as much as I would want to be informed on weekends, naputulan kami ng fone. So, this week, sana makainternet na ako sa haus. Inggit tuloy ako ka Lara, may DSL pa!

I agree with you Jensie, sana Miss Nicaragua World was sent to Universe and vice versa. Lalo na ngayon na sa Miss World e naghahanap sila ng exotica, the one who one Miss Universe could have been a better fit.

I agree with you, Lara. Miss USAs don't strutt the ramp. As what Miss Congeniality showed, they're being taught to "glide". Unlike Miss Venezuela and other Latina beauties who are made to look as regal and "unreachable" as possible.

Now, about Miss DC....wow! I have to say I thought Miss Kansas would win, but no! Well, about my list, I scored a measly 5-1-1 (7) out of 12 delegates. I only guesses Connecticut, Indiana, Texas, DC, and Kansas. Lousiana was in my alternates and Minnesota was in my wild cards. Miss NY was obviously a sentimental choice, and yes, I've learned my lesson re: judging from the pics alone. I really thought Miss Alabama gave a witty interview. But her photo was weird. Hehehehe. But I found Miss Colorado's funnier.

guiseppe: Wag kang mag-alala. Wala lang talagang maraming info. re: Bb. Pilipinas. Kinda cautious lang siguro ang mga tao dito in making this thread from being another Mabuhay pageants thread where tempers flare at masyadong nagiging emotional. Pasasan ba't magkakaroon rin tayo ng katuwaan predictions come pageant presentation night, di ba peeps? :D

Jensie: Sayang di ko mabasa (actually, ng computer) ang Miss U chinese website. Actually, all Chinese understand the characters. Meaning, di sila nag-iiba, mapa-fookien man or cantonese or mandarin. Sa speaking lang nag-iiba. Meaning, a fookien speaker (Phil, South China), Cantonese (HK), and a Mandarin speaker (Singapore, Taiwan, PROC, etc.) have the same characters, but they speak it differently.

RE biased Jermaine Jackson. Masyado namang retro ang reason ng slavery. Of course, nandyan pa rin ang discrimination, pero masyado nang historical ang slavery reason. But african Americans do consider their race a big deal, thus the celebration when they get recognized (e.g. the current oscar nominations where 3 African American actors are nominated: Denzel, Will and Halle [the miss usa look alike blended with angela bassett]. )

RE Miss USA Top 12 outfits. Ang patriotic and ang hip ha! Although di ko siya type, ang fun tignan ng denim frills ni Miss NY.

RE Miss Singapore. Maganda yang mga pinost mo, Jensie ha! What about si Contestant no. 3 ang manalo kasi............sabog ang buhok niya!!!!!!!!!!! Hehehehehehehe.

Hi RollinRolly! :)

Thanks for posting this good news. We appreciate it! However, you forgot to include the winner's name in your post. Please check.

This is definitely good news! AUSTRIA was last represented in Miss Universe in 1999, with Katja Giebner as its representative.

The last time this European nation made it to MU was in 1977, when Eva Maria Duringer narrowly missed the crown by winning 1st runner-up to Janelle Commissiong of Trinidad & Tobago.

Let's all see if this year's representative can break the 25-year dry spell of Austria. :)

According to this website, her name is Sanja and she stands 167 cm. I converted 167 cm. into feet and found out that it's exactly 5'6", and NOT 6'1" as you earlier posted.

Hi Pattie!

Actually, I also got the chance to meet Charlene and she's not only beautiful outside, she's even more beautiful inside dahil sa sobrang accomodating niya and all kaya mamatay ka sa inggit. joke. :D

Regarding those BB Pilipinas na from UP, come to think of it, sayang nga talaga sila. tanong ko na lang eh "BAKIT?" Siguro kahit alam ng madla na mababait, magaganda at matatalino ang mga pinapapadala sa MU / MW, siguro nakakabit na lang kina Charlene, Ruffa, Miriam at Cara ang Good Luck Charm. Wala rin naman kasi kung saang SCHOOLS galing ang isang delegate eh. Other people kasi when a certain delegate came from a ranking school, they tag her na intelligent. Being intelligent is not only being taught or acquired in schools for life is a learning experience by itself. Oh well, just like guissepe has said, IMHO {baka di maintindihan ng iba; In My Honest Opinion}

Well first things first, I don't want this thread to turn out to be a bashing thread but I have to say my piece na. Geesh, pati ba Miss Universe pa man lang pagaawayan pa? Miss Universe is very special to me and I guess to a lot of people here as well. Kaya ayaw ko na pati ito would be a source of bickering between people. But I'm sort of fed up na, regarding one person diyan all I can say is THAT PERSON IS NOT THE BOSS OF US, AND WE CAN POST HERE WHATEVER WE LIKE, SAKA MAGDIKTA NALANG SIYA KAPAG SIYA ANG NAGBABAYAD NG ISP NAMIN!!!!!!!! Saka, THAT'S THE REASON NGA WHY MAY BB. PILIPINAS 2002 THREAD PARA DOON PAGUSAPAN ANG BB. PILIPINAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Simple logic lang yun. sus!!!!
IMHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, in the brighter side of things, this is the new Miss São Paulo 2002- looks like a hotty also.

Even if you can't understand Portuguese, you can easily understand what this means, (baka yung isa diyan mag object nanaman)

So it means, she's really tall talaga.

And having read those posts, parang mga b@d!ng ang nagdictate sa inyo niyan while you were posting. Pagtulungan nga ba? But hey, it's obvious. Doubting? Not!

I dont know guissepe or anyone in this thread whatsoever. But in fairness to him, that's hís own opinion and each one of us dont have any business with what others are thinking of. Oh well, if I may quote from baby_boi's previous post "How narrow-minded other people can get! ".

People like Zack at Jensie should be appreciated and cited for their hold of temper (kung meron man) at least they know how to react maturely and they respect the opinions of individuals that contributes to this thread.

Hi Lara! :) I tried in vain to translate the Portuguese text... I hope it's correct... :)

"The Miss Sao Paulo title went to Issa Oliveira of the city of Cajobi. Issa is 18 years old, 6 feet in height, weighing 140.8 lbs. The Miss Sao Paulo contest had 32 participants."

Waitaminute... quilos is "kilos" in English di ba? 64 kilos is roughly 140.8 lbs. Ang bigat ata nito for a woman who's slim and just happened to be tall... Is this possible or what? Sorry ha, I'm not sure eh... :)

Anyways, Issa IS hot... Habang tumatagal, nagsisipaglabasan ang mga babes ng Brazil ah...

Saka take note, there's a black contestant in this year's Miss Brasil pageant... Miss Bahia Simoes Filho... we should watch out for her... delikado na... alam niyo naman ang trend nowadays... :)

But then, I hope Keli Kaniak wins!

I think it's not a matter of maturity or something, well you have your limits naman but this time my limits have reached the edge na. It's just normal lang naman to let off steam. And it's better to say it direct to the point, instead of talking behind each other's back. Another flaw of the Filipino, we are so cautious na we tend to be plastic pretending nothing is happening (thus we stab the person at the back- and that's even worse), than saying what we feel and get done with it. WE can't express what we feel sometimes.
And it seems Jensie and zack haven't read the posts yet. Frankly speaking, this thread is rather ok naman, everybody is here is quite harmonious with each other except well yes, i'll say it na... Guissepe. This person IMHO has a bossy attitude. We don't dictate to him what he should or should not do, and so he should do the same to us. And I think it is HE who doesn't respect the opinions of others, try reviewing this thread please. So I think it's not a matter of maturity or whatever we tend to blow our tempers, if you have too many surpressed feelings inside that's even worse so better to let it all out. Now back to pageantry..... and please wag ka nang mangdamay pa ng tao saying "parang mga bading and dictate... blah blah" and all that bull.... that's rather a stereotypical statement, isn't it?

Thanx for these pix. :)

Agbani is a goddess! Samantalahin na dapat ng fellow countrymen niya yung pagiging Miss World niya... minsan lang sila makakatagpo ng ganyan kaganda at karapatdapat na representative for MU and MW... :)

It was her lack of schmaltz and spunk during the Blue Point swimsuit competition on the finals night that did her. Kitang-kita na hindi siya marunong maglakad at saka hindi niya alam kung anong hita ang itataas pag apak sa plate.

Sayang... to think sobrang gumanda siya nung finals night. Mataas yung evening gown score niya. Kung mataas-taas pa sana yung swimsuit score niya ay pasok na siya sana sa Top 5...

Oh well, blessing in disguise naman eh... Naging Miss World naman siya... To think she beated 90+ candidates... :)

My thoughts exactly!!

Pattie: You have a few points there. I've been holding my temper on this guy (?) eversince he started posting some *****y and unsolicited replies. I have to be honest that a know a few posters from this thread who doesn't like the way that guy posts here. It's obvious that you're a newbie here as you don't know how insensitive he was to others. We wouldn't have reacted that way had he not been that insensitive.

And please? My sexual preference has got nothing to do with this commotion. If I may quote Lara's statement in her previous post, [b]"that's rather stereotypical..."

So let's stop this na... And proceed to the Beauty Pageant discussion.

Thanks! *peace*

Regarding Miss NIgeria 2002 we should not conclude our basis on one picture alone. From the site I got this, madaming nagandahan sa kanya. She's 5'11 kaya medyo magiging stunner din to. I don't want to underestimate Nigeria kasi after getting Miss World, they're kinda serious na in getting Miss UNiverse.

Too early to say anyway, and about Miss Nigeria 2002's make up well, gaganda pa yan, wait til the Miss U makeup artists get a hold of her. She would be as fresh looking as her predecessor. Agbani was more beautiful during Miss U, sa Miss World she looked malnourished- too thin.

I agree with Jensie. Mukhang matatagalan siguro bago makakita ang Nigeria ng ipampapalit sa kagandahan ni Agbani. At based sa picture na pinost ni Lara, mukhang matatagalan nga, IMH(umble)O.

Yup, chez-o! PEACE tayo lahat!

Yup, Christina Sawaya has sharp features that are more inherent in Latina beauties than the typical Middle Eastern ones. I think she's bi-racial or somethin'.

Yup mukhang matatagalan... but then we really never now. Just like what Ali Landry used to say...Anything could happen!

Hi mulan_rushdiary! :)

baby_boi's correct! The Yehey Team has not been able to finish the website since the 24 official delegates are in the process of having their official headshots and swimsuit shots taken. Their profile and stats, together with their respective number tag assignments, are also being finalized as of the moment.

Hopefully by the end of this week or early next week, we will all be able to enjoy the newly-updated official Bb. Pilipinas 2002 website.

Online and SMS voting for the Miss Internet 2002 award will immediately follow.

Yup I agree. The official MU make-up artists and stylists WILL transform Chinenye from a babe into a goddess... just like what they've done to Agbani last year.

I agree again! Agbani looked HEALTHIER during MU2001. Sobrang payat siya nung MW2001. Saka had she worn her red killer gown in MW2001 again, I believe she could have also won the Best Dress Award. That red gown is a rich blend of Western elegance and African ethnicity.

But I must say though: Bing, Jazel, Des and Sherilene have yet to prove themselves on March 16. I ain't really impressed with their pictures. They weren't given any justice at all. :(

Alam ko malaki talaga ang Filipino community sa Northern Marianas (Saipan Island to be specific) and Guam.

Joke.

It's just that I hope Northern Marianas, for once and for all, takes MU seriously na... Tignan niyo, talo pa sila ng Guam, eh kapitbahay lang naman nila yun!

May Miss World title na ang Guam (kahit by default lang when the original winner, Miss Germany 1980 Gabriella Brum, had to give up the crown all in the name of love). Saka in MU, the highest it ever achieved was 1st runner-up, when Patty Chong Kerkos placed 2nd to Karen Baldwin in MU82.

The official Bb. Pilipinas 2002 website is temporarily down as of the moment. I think the Yehey Team is finalizing everything na talaga. Kulang pa yung mga scrapbooks nila Rhea and Maricarl eh. Saka kulang din yung sa Sponsors section. I'll continue with my feature on Karen later. :)

BTW, the Century Park Sheraton Hotel, located along Pablo Ocampo Street, (formerly Vito Cruz) beside Harrison Plaza, is the official residence of the 24 candidates for this year. That Karen Mariano is really stunning. Ganda ng aura. May pizazz and VAVAVOOM, IMH(umble)O.

Aura Alejo looks like Denise Quiñones. And yes, may hawig si Blanca B. kay Alicia M.

Lara, may flabs yang 3rd girl na pinost mo? Ang sayang naman. I'll have to see that for myself. Sana up na ang Bb. Pilipinas website.

Miss Nigeria is 5'11"? Now that is TALL!!!!!!! I'll be expecting a transformation come Miss U, courtesy of the expert Miss U make-up artists, of course.

Although I have to say na nag-improve na talaga ang quality ng fotos ng Bb., albeit medyo "hawig" sa Femina and Miss U. But I guess that's a step in the right direction. Sana tuloy-tuloy na.

RE Miss N. Marianas, well, kahit na thank you giels (Kuya Germs pronunciation) sila, aren't they always in the running for Miss Congeniality? :D I've always remembered since naging palapanuod ako ng beauty pageants that delegates from the South Pacific are always in the running for Miss Friendship. I guess they're a friendly lot, eh? :D

Gaya nga ng sabi ni JENSIE, malaki ang Filipino community sa area na yun. And besides, parte ng Pilipinas ang Guam, Saipan, etc. nung Spanish period. Pati ang Sabah sa Malaysia. Kaya lang, nung natalo ang Spain ng America, the former had to cede the Philippines, Cuba (?), Puerto Rico (?) Guam, Saipan, and the other territories of Spain. Kaya wag ka magtaka kung halos magkakahawig ang mga mukha at surnames. Kasi naging parte ng Philippines ang area na yun during the Spanish times here. Ayun, hope that helps!

Ang saya! Kapitbahay ko ang candidates ngayon!! lolz! :bounce2:

Hey guys! This is my take on judging the candidates! This is purely my personal assessment (aka IMHO) ok? Five - highest, One - lowest scores to be given. I'll be featuring the first four muna. Mas class pa ako eh.. Enjoy!

Candidate no. 1, Sandra Rebancos

Headshot - 3.85
Swimsuit - 2.00
Interview - 2.50
Average - 2.78

http://www.bbpilipinas.com/2002/images/delegates/6a.jpg

http://www.bbpilipinas.com/2002/images/delegates/6b.jpg

Too many cliche answers! I'm quite impressed she wanted to be a teacher. That's a noble profession. Kahit ang baba ng sweldo. Ba! Di madali magturo ha!

Candidate no. 2, Melanie Capati

Headshot - 3.25
Swimsuit - 1.75
Interview - 1.25
Average - 2.08

http://www.bbpilipinas.com/2002/images/delegates/7a.jpg

http://www.bbpilipinas.com/2002/images/delegates/7b.jpg

I have two words to describe this girl's answers in the interview: ANG BABAW!! When asked to name 3 things that make you happy, she answered: 1) someone will give me a cellphone (Anu ba yun?!) Haaayy... Pano nakapasok sa Top 24 to?

Candidate no. 3, Athena Claveria

Headshot - 3.60
Swimsuit - 4.10
Interview - 4.20
Average - 3.97

http://www.bbpilipinas.com/2002/images/delegates/8a.jpg

http://www.bbpilipinas.com/2002/images/delegates/8b.jpg

She's a doctor of optometry. She also does medical missions. When she was a child, she wanted to be somebody who can be of help to others. Above average interview!

Candidate no. 4, Lakambini Alto

Headshot - 4.50
Swimsuit - 4.40
Interview - 4.82
Average - 4.57

http://www.bbpilipinas.com/2002/images/delegates/9a.jpg

http://www.bbpilipinas.com/2002/images/delegates/9b.jpg

She loves nature, expresses herself through art. Lakambini wanted to be a veterinarian before because she loves animals and nature. Bing sees herself ten years from now as an environmentalist while still doing triathlon and become a good mom. Very genuine answers! Two thumbs up!

Hi baby_boi! :)

Yup I believe this has been confirmed na. You live near CSB, right? Good for you. :)

Pilipinas candidates sa hotel nila this year!

Dusit Hotel Nikko was the official residence for the Bb. Pilipinas candidates from 2000 to 2001. Century Park Sheraton Hotel naman from the years 1996-1999. Sa Westin Philippine Plaza Hotel naman from 1994-1995 at sa Manila Diamond Hotel nung 1993. Eto lang yung mga naaalala ko. :)

INTERVIEW
Describe yourself: I'm down-to-earth, easy to get along with, confident and simple.

Name 3 things that make you happy:
1. Having a sucessful, happy life.

3. Modelling.

Greatest Achievement: Getting into the Bb. Pilipinas pageant, being an outstanding student in high school and being a dean's lister in college.

What can't you live without?: All my loved ones.

And why?: They are the ones who give me support and make me feel secure.

What is your take on love?: I believe in the power of love. It truly can change a person for the better. If we have enough love, we can change a lot in our country.

What for you is real beauty?: Real beauty isn't just seen in the physical aspect. One must look beyond the surface of a person, and in there, he would see the real beauty of a person.

I hope its Charlene Gonzalez and Ruffa Guttieriez and for the anchorwomen its Miriam Quiambao and Cara Subijano. alternate ko si Nina Alagao as anchorwoman kung di pede si Cara. i surfed over the net and found out that charlene is being eyed to host the bb pilipinas...that's good news...and paolo bediones bid to be a host also didnt materialize...something to do with bediones' contract with rejoice, which is i think a competitor of one of the major sponsors for bb pilipinas...

does anyone know kung sino yung magiging host for the coronation night? I hope its Charlene Gonzalez and Ruffa Guttieriez and for the anchorwomen its Miriam Quiambao and Cara Subijano. alternate ko si Nina Alagao as anchorwoman kung di pede si Cara. Ang ganda siguro ng coronation night kung ganon. haaayyy. . . . .

Wow! Sana nga totoo! I can't wait for that kung totoo ngang maghohost si Charlene. Can't wait to see her mingling with the candidates. :D

pero parang mas maganda kung si alto ang mananalo. parang lalabas na ganito:

LAKAMBINI ALTO
Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2002
Nationally-ranked Triathlete
Metallurgical Engineering student, University of the Philippines

di ba may prestige?

kesa sa:

KAREN LOREN AGUSTIN
Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2002
Model, Computer Science student
AMA Computer College

walang dating, di ba?

la lang.

very well said... sinner, taga up ka no?

they are both different individuals so let's judge them based on their wits and beauty come March 16.

hi cathybee!

i guess iba-iba naman tayo ng interpretation. siguro ang instant reaction ng makakabasa is i'm underestimating models, or that UP is better than AMA. di naman. i work in an IT company and being surrounded by techies, i always hear na AMA-QC nga daw is the best AMA campus. i believe that's where karen studies.

let's put it this way. physically, i guess many people would consider karen and bing equal. i won't make comparison na sa kung ano ang educational background nila kasi, while i'm a graduate of UP, i have colleagues who are from AMA naman.

but in contests like miss universe, medyo mahirap gumawa ng impact. one must be sobrang pretty, or super sexy. majority of the contestants din are models. siguro bing's being an athlete can help her stand-out, make her unique from other delegates. she has qualities that majority of the delegates don't have, kaya kahit papano mapapansin sya.

that's just my opinion.

What a comment you have there! Let's put it this way, this thread is not a school bashing one and if you want to start to school bash, then this thread is not for you. Im sorry, but all of us here in this thread are open minded people. If you said na you're not looking at their educational background or whatsoever, so why do you have to post the schools they are into? mukhang di ata nagjive from your previous post. Well anyway, that's your point of view so we respect that.

Let's try to see others the way they deal or rub elbows with different kinds of people and not from their achievements or the school they came or coming from. BREEDING COUNTS A LOT.

sinner_notsaint suggestion ko lang...maybe next time you can also put in height, weight, umm...beauty pageant experience (qualified ba un?!?), preparations made(qualified rin kaya to?!?), achievement like social works, awards, et al...instead of just putting the school and course and current job/occupation lang...kase much as many wants to respect your opinion, medyo di maganda ang dating eh...i guess nainterpret talaga ng marami na its either you're bashing the school or you're bashing the current occupation that they have. just be careful....everybody's opinions are welcome but not putting one in a good light in expense of the other---which your statement seems....

oo nga pala, just want to ask your opinion --- in your view, how can a candidate stand out from the rest? you say..."being an athlete can help her standout"...can you please expound? Thanks.

In my opinion, I think its the finesse of the candidate...siguro the way she carries herself (the way she walk, talk, etc etc) plus of course, the right package (in terms of public relations buildup and clothes and makeup that she wears)...i think that's what make m.quiambao stand out during her time...she got the gown to die for...pero kung tutuusin kahit anong tingin ko sa kanya, someone else is better looking than her pero the way she carry herself + the gown...ay grabe....si nina ricci kase i think talaga di okei *** gold gown nya...parang walang umpf...si zora, ang pretty pretty nya sa bb pero ewan ko kung ano klaseng makeup ang ginawa sa kanya sa miss universe at tsaka, the smile looks different talaga (sorry zory fans ha...im so blunt on this one  ) im no expert here ha kaya pasensya na :)

The host, co-host, anchors, judges and performers for this year's Bb. Pilipinas 2002 will not be known and confirmed until next week.

Charlene is a good choice, in fact a superb choice. I believe Dingdong Dantes will be the host for this year. Last year, David Bunevacz hosted the pageant. Ruffa was co-host while Dingdong and China were anchors.

In my opinion, enough of China Cojuangco muna. She's better off doing other things in life. Co-hosting is just not her own cup of tea.

Let's wait for some official confirmation, hopefully early next week.

BREAKING NEWS

After a year of absence, Great Britain might just be sending a delegate to Miss Universe this year after all.

Yanna Booth was originally crowned Miss Great Britain 2002 last February 23. She beat 43 other aspirants for the title. This title awards her the right to represent her country in the upcoming Miss Tourism World 2002 pageant set for September in Colombia.

YANNA BOOTH
AGE: 21
HEIGHT: 5 feet 11 inches
VITAL STATISTICS: 36-26-36
HOMETOWN: Kent
http://www.misstourismworld.com/missgreatbritain/jWinner2002/images/yanabooth001.jpg http://www.misstourismworld.com/missgreatbritain/jWinner2002/popupimages/004.jpg http://www.misstourismworld.com/missgreatbritain/jFinalists2002/images/Yana%20Booth.gif

However in a recent twist of fate, it seems that Yanna will be representing her country in Miss Universe 2002 after all. It was reported that she will be flying this month to Venezuela, specifically in the city of Valencia, for intense preparations for MU2002, set for May 29 in Puerto Rico.

However it is Felix Farias, director of Miss Venezuela Tourism, that will handle and train Yanna and NOT Osmel Sousa of the Organizacion Miss Venezuela.

Let's all see how Yanna does in May.

Yup I agree!!! :)

Pero don't worry, I believe BPCI is still sane enough not to commit the very same mistake GMA 7 did when it hired these two...

I just read that Hong Kong might not send a delegate to MU this year. The Miss Hong Kong Organization reportedly lost the franchise to send delegates to MU... Pero I smell something fishy. Maybe it has something to do with mainland China's plan of fielding a delegate to MU this year.

Too bad for Hong Kong... :(
