pagmagtatayo ako ng website tapos magbebenta ako ng kahit na anong products via internet, pano ako mag a-accept ng payments via credit card, parang pag bumubili ka ng software tapos magbabayad ka via card, :)

well, you have to apply sa banks ata to be able to accept payments via CC. Yung parang sa mga normal stores din. Kailangan mo ring kumuha ng certificate to prove that transactions via your web site is secure.

Simplistically,
You need to get a merchant account with a local / international credit card network.
You'll need the software for the particular system of electronic payment / gateway your CCN uses.
You'll need connectivity / access to the gateway.
Traditionally, the last two were provided by those point-of-sale card swipes that established a call to one of the local CC clearing banks (Equitable, Citibank, etc.). On the Internet, you have a variety of systems from the crude (form-to-email, form-to-email-to-fax) to the sophisticated (SET).
There are lots of online resources on this. But you'll still need #1, unless you opt for an alternative (debit-cards, Beenz, virtual currency) payment system aside from credit-cards.

what if i accept check payments only, mas madali yun kaya lang iba pag online transaction, pano kaya kung gumamit ako ng services sa mga secures sites like http://www.element5.com/ and www.shareit.com pero under din ata ng element5 yung shareit eh
kung ganun alin kaya ang mas cheaper, use their service or like the ones in malls :)

Does anyone know of good providers for merchant accounts online credit card (visa/mastercard) processing. I am in need of an e-commerce solution as soon as possible and want to look into all the options.
I am interested in a non-US based company. I would prefer a solution in the Philippines, the only solutions I found are through Equitable and Union Bank:
http://www.equitablecard.com/product_pg.asp
Equitable seems to require a P500,000 hold, which is more than I would like to pay.

don't go for the internation credit card companies such as hsbc or citibank. interest is higher with them. go for the local banks such as bpi or east west bank.
"East West Bank MasterCard charges a low rate of 2.75 percent per month, which is still among the lowest in the market today." this is what it says on the website of their bank. go to www.eastwestbanker.com
i honeslty don't have their card, but that's what they say.
if you shop internationally though, like on the internet or go abroad, that's another story. some local credit card companies aren't accepted is some shops. i don't know the reasons why. so keep this in mind, it's always nice to have a nicer credit card for backups. nicer being the one from internaitonal companies.

You apply for a merchant account, NC. May I also applaud you for taking the initiative in this matter? Many business owners I know take a short-sighted view of credit cards, accepting them only grudgingly after much selling. They see only reduced margins on account of commissions, rather than possible increased sales on account of credit availability or customer convenience.

call the bank and ask for the merchant acquiring department, if they don't know, just ask the credit card department.
Ask them about accrediation procedures. Most of the banks will need your check on the legality of your business so prepare your business docs (ie business permits..etc).
You need to have a sizable volume of business before they accept you kasi it will have a cost on their part (cost of POS terminal).

Heyas All,
The reason I ask is that I would like The Children's Hour to be more widely-accredited with the different credit card companies like Citibank, Standard Chartered, HSBC, BDO, Equitable and all the rest.
I would like to open as many channels for people to give to Children's Hour, aside from the systems we already have in place :)
Currently, we only accept BPI and AIG credit cards.
If there is anyone here in PEx who can give me some information regarding the opening of Merchant Accounts with the various credit companies, please do reply to this thread.
Specifically, I would like to ask the following:
For our target market who already have credit cards
1. What are the procedures for creating such a merchant account?
2. What service fees are involved, and can these be waived for non-stock, non-profit corporations such as The Children's Hour?
3. If we needed to create a savings/checking account with your bank/institution, how much would we need to have in the account on a daily/weekly/monthly basis?
4. Will we be provided with a POS unit?
5. For repeat customers/donors on a monthly basis, would the charging be on our end, or can your company handle all procedural matters? (verifying amounts, etc.) - the bottomline is that we would like to make it as easy, convenient, and hassle-free for our customers/donors to remit money to us.
For our target market who do not have credit cards as of yet:
6. Can we co-brand a credit card and come up with a "Children's Hour" credit card? If so, what is the minimum # of credit card applications necessary?
For a co-branded card, can annual membership fees be waived?
I was thinking along the lines of pre-approved credit cards with spending limits of P5,000 or so a month. Sort of like a credit card exclusively dedicated (but not necessarily so) for donations & purchase of Children's Hour merchandise.
7. Still thinking along these lines, if not a co-branded credit card, a co-branded cash/debit card?
*I regularly donate P500 to Unicef every month (for which they give me a lot of greeting cards - i have a growing stack here at home  ), and I'd like to be able to develop a similar system for The Children's Hour.
By accepting donations via credit card, we are able to assure customers that there is no pilferage in the system since donations are immediately credited to our merchant account, as well as provide them with the ease and convenience of not having to worry about separate monthly billing statements as donations can be automatically placed on the credit card bills they already have.
If anyone can help me with these arrangements, I would greatly appreciate it :)
Please help spread the word! Children's Hour already has several mechanisms already in place to make it easier to help many filipino children nationwide:

I am looking for a merchant account which is like the arrangement between Metrobank and NSO. The service should be similar to Metrobank and NSO wherein you can get a birth certificate by calling NSO, then NSO gives you a number stub, you then proceed to Metrobank and make the deposit to NSO's account.
Are there banks that do this aside from Metrobank? I looked at Metrobank's website and it seems that you should maintain a P500,000 ADB to avail of this service. Malaki masyado yung required balance.

I have a small grocery here in bicol. I want to apply to make my shop capable of accepting transactions paid thru card. Does anybody know whom I should talk with? Thanks

This should be something your (commercial) banker should be able to help you with. Approach him and let him know you want to set up a merchant account. If his bank issues credit cards (Mastercard or VISA), it should also be able to "acquire" merchants.

which companies has lower charges?
m_ke2
Mar 23, 2007, 03:11 PM
I think the standard rate is 4-6%, but the rate may also depend on two things
(1) type of products & services sold (groceries, department store and gas has lower rates)
(2) sales per month, they can lower the charges based on how high is your monthly credit card transactions (this should be in millions, i think)

Pag me online store ka, how do you get to accept credit cards payment for local consumer? how much po ang charge?
I know PayPal can do this, but the consumer will be charge in USD, then will be "killed" by the exchange rate... sana parang credit card sa local stores, charge in PHP lang.
Meron bang parang local PayPal version dito? No setup fees, just pay per use ang approach?
Anyone?
