Hey gals (and guys na rin, don't be shy!),
When I started the Share your latest fashion purchases here (http://www.pinoyexchange.com/forums/showthread.php3?s=&threadid=56077) thread, I noticed that some people were including make up and beauty purchases. Which is fine but sayang naman if they get lost in the fray right? Which is why I am starting this thread.
By "cult" I mean brands that are popular among make up artists or have a small but loyal following and aren't as of yet mass produced. I'm talking about brands like MAC, Kiehl's, Benefit, Lush, etc. So Maybelline and drugstore brands don't make the cut. Not because they're not good brands, but because they're already easily accessible and have been churning out the same products for years. Let's talk about cult brands because they are always setting the stage for trends -- plus, if you've always wondered what a certain brand was like but was reluctant to try it for yourself because of lack of info, then this is the place to get the scoop!
I'll start it off with my new-found favorite beauty brand, Lush (http://www.lushcanada.com). I'd bought Lush bath products before, but never anything from their skincare line. Then recently I read about a skin cleanser of theirs called "Angels on Bareskin". It's basically a paste made with ground almond and essential oils like lavender and even some lavender flowers. It looks and smells like flowery marzapan, parang gusto mong kainin! The ground almond gently exfoliates and the essential oils balance the oil in your skin. When you rinse it off, and lambot ng skin mo parang baby! I was kinda stressed from moving and you could see it on my face. After using it for a couple of weeks, my god, what a difference! I think I'm tossing all my other beauty stuff out the window (I don't even need my moisturizer anymore)! And considering that Lush's other products are in the semi-pricey range, this stuff is a steal because it is sold by weight and you only need a little bit at a time (I bought $3.00 worth and it looks like it will last me over a month). This is the only one I need!
