Inspite of the odds, we won !!! UST, FEU and even La Salle are still the favorites for the crown, but we will relish this victory in Loyola for the next few days. ONE BIG FIGHT !!

Congratulations ATENEO!!! You really surprised a lot of people. But you deserved it. It's your feastday today, July 31, if I'm not mistaken.

Does Enrico Villanueva remind you of a young Benjie Paras, albeit a more coordinated one?

Congratulations to the Blue Eagles. That was indeed a one Very BIG Fight!!! -- A fighting heart that is. Now that Ateneo has beaten La Salle, the competition in the UAAP gets a little bit more interesting doesn't it?

Congratulations Ateneo! Your team really played well yesterday, and they truly deserved to win. The same cannot be said for La Salle, though. Unless Allado, Aldeguer and Ritualo get their act together, we might see another loss this Wednesday against FEU. Thank goodness for Jose, Wilson and Ramos who made up for the "Big 3"'s non-performance.
I'm looking forward to next round's game. I wasn't able to watch from Cuneta. How did the respective cheering squads fare? Did they have any new tricks up their sleeve since it's Ateneo-La Salle?

It's probably one of the best Ateneo-La Salle games that i have watched. Both teams played well... Ateneo just had the good breaks of the game

Congratulations to the Ateneo Blue Eagles for winning the game yesterday. You guys deserve it. Kudos to Joe Lipa and his coaching staff (including my dear friend Sandy A.---you the man!!). One Big Fight!!!
Congratulations to the Blue Eagles! You pulled off an unexpected win and proved once more that anything can happen in the UAAP. Cheers!

Ateneo won because La Salle got into foul trouble early into the 1st and 2nd halves. If not for this, the Big Three would've been able to play a lot longer than they did. Credit also goes to Wesley Gonzales' free throws (14 of 16, i think).

conngrats blue eagles! i think you played really well... it's still a long way to go but with the way you played last saturday, you really have a chance to make it to the final four... i just wish la salle can make it too because i am dying to see both la salle and ateneo fighting for the crown.... i believe that ateneo has the chance to snatch the crown from la salle but i also believe that la salle can still defend it...

Awright Eagles!
Somebody was asking about how the cheering squads fared. Well, the Blue Babble Battalion came up with this really great gimmick...only the cheerdancers and five boys led the cheers!
I'm telling you, both DLSU and AdMU pulled out the stops to their cheering last Saturday...for Ateneo, I thought it was a smart (cute?) move...I mean, who would be able to heckle at little kids? And they were all dressed up in white, too.
Reminds me of the time when **** Gordon led the halftime cheers a few years ago...pagaentry at its best! Go Babble!

Here Ateneans....
This is for you guys to reminisce the Blue Eagles' 'lucky' 3 point victory over La Salle LAST YEAR...
Go ahead and dwell on the past... so that you'll stop all that whining and sourgraping.

Thank you for bringing this thread back to life The Real Thing.
The responses here clearly illustrated how different we celebrate a win against the rival school. So who's "whining and sourgraping"? Panalo na nga kayo, galit ka pa rin. Why? ACET perhaps... :)

Because unlike your loser school, we dont make any Hype. That's why your loquacious schoolmates were humiliated when your team lost. :D
BTW. Who would wanna consider the 3rd ranked Phil. University in Asia known for its losing ways as their top priority?
Unless of course they want to be a "loser" like you as well http://www.pinoyexchange.com/lol.gif
