guys, I have noticed that several students and alumni especially really want to watch the games as much as they can. What do you think of playing in the evening just like the US NCAA. If this is so, then both students who have classes during daytime and alumni who have work can watch the games. Have the high school games played in the daytime then the senior games can start at 6:00 pm just like in the championship games. I noticed that a lot of LaSalle alumni was able to watch the championship games last year because it was played after office hours, notwithstanding one of our junior members here, Don.

I think I agree. At least I won't have to rush from UP to Ateneo just to be able to watch the games. Last Wednesday, I was really bouncing with excitement in my class. The game started at 3 and my class ended at 4. I relied on my friend's text messages regarding vital information. I arrived just in time for the 2nd half - in time to see my school lose and in time to see my favorite player sit on the bench. DARN!!!
but we've got to consider the other folks involved - the players, the staff and the likes.
anyway, 'twas nice sharing my sentiments w/u.

i think evening games are better... i remember a time when we cut classes to watch a la salle - ateneo game... we were looking forward to that big game. but we came in late (probabaly before the first half ends)... the thing is ateneo won that game and take note by a point... heartbreaker for us ha... so the moral of the story is "don't ever cut classes"... that's what i call karma...

I took my undergrad in the states so I know how much of an advantage it is for fans to be able to watch their teams at night or weekends after class.
The scheduling depends mainly on the board members of the UAAP. Last year, we had very few weekday games because the host UE didn't want students trooping to watch games during class hours. I think the difficulty of the commute was also a factor of not having night games. They thought it was hard and dangerous for students to be heading home from a game at around 9-10 pm.
With TV, it's harder to get a prime time slot (6-10pm)nomatter what day it is. The Final Four and Finals are special requests to Channel 4 to air games on prime time. So only good games are requested by Silverstar so that PTV will agree. The other channels' prime time schedules are pretty much set. Silverstar has on occasion shown games late night after the news when there is availble airtime.
Peace.

I reiterate this plea to the organizers of the 2000 UAAP.
The scheduling last year was confused, to say the least.
We want to see more games live so its really best to have them during the weekends or on weeknights.
I noticed though that there are still weekday games in the schedule, some of which will not be televised, even on a delayed basis.
To all those concerned, or those with access to the UAAP board, please forward this request, which undoubtedtly benefit everyone involved or interested in the games.
Thanks.
