believe it or not, these pictures are actually nothing compared to the real thing, they don't do justice to the live performances of all these universities.

watching halftime shows is an experience altogether, coupled with hundreds of student fanatics roaring along with the cheers at the araneta...man, these are the times i'm glad to be part of the uaap. :)

uh-oh...bulok talaga ang NCAA. :toofunny: Wala kayong ganyan noh? MWEHEHEHEHEHEH

Wag nyo awayin ang La Salle, we are beneficial for NCAA survival.

This person is going to start a fight again... geesh... ignore.... oh well, there area always people that would hate your school for no apparent reason. But honestly, even my school is in the NCAA, nabubulukan talaga ako sa NCAA. I love my school but not the league.

Well! they really are fascinating, for all the stunts and pyramids. Because in NCAA there are certain limitations during half time such as only 10 cheerleaders are allowed to perform and with limited time aside from the fact that in UAAP are exposed to many cheering competition and so fort... but i can't say naman it's bulok and it's NCAA committee should allow these guys to express themselves fully! But in fairness to UAAP cheerleaders they really are great!!! Hope that someday that NCAA would come up with the kind of setup like the UAAP has!

Good Day!

Arriba Letran!!!

but then again, uaap and ncaa are entirely different leagues and i don't think it's fair to compare the cheerleading abilities of these two, especially after learning from Punisher that there are indeed limitations (WhY????) in the nc. that is, obviously to the disadvantage of the ncaa schools.

i'm sure, given the chance to express themselves freely and without the grip of restrictions, then the pepsquads of nc would be at par or perhaps even greater than these legendary performances in the uaap.

it just takes a little bit more spirit which i'm sure none of the schools are in short of. :)

hey you NCAA people

have you seen the cheering competitions of the UAAP yesterday...HANEP di ba...dont think the NCAA restrictions should stop the league from moving forward...guess the students should clamor for changes else the NCAA will be stuck with being "the oldest collegiate league in the country" while the UAAP runs away with the "the most glamorous and prestigious league in the country"...napaglumaan na kayo....

PS

Haaaay...nako.

AMBADUY!!!!! :toofunny:

RollinRolly, ang masasasabi ko lang ay...Love the place where you are. You love your school but not the league. This mindset is sooooo sad.

Hmmm.... JRU?....SSC?.....UPHR?.....SBC?......LC?.......PCU?.......

Ano kaya yun? pakisabi naman sakin o? Ito lang maisip kong bulok eh.

The restrictions set by the NCAA Board are actually for the good of students. Pano ang *******-tang.a na estudyante ng NCAA, they take things waaaay too personally. Grow up!!! biruin nyo yung Archer stance ng CSB pinagdiskitahan pa???!!! AMBOBO!!!!!

I know the CSB Peppers are perofrming well....ibang school....HAHAHAHAHAHHA! tawa na lang ako.

JRU, PCU, UPHR!

No offense, but try to improve your chears!!! :glee:

Thats why it is inevitable that some people abhor your school.

Kulang sa good identity ang mga skul na ito and unintelligent ang

dating.

I think the majority of NCAA pexers here agrees w/ me.

yup, fortunately, i was able to watch that very very stunning cheerdancing competition on tv last saturday. okay, i was simply...well, yeah..stunned. no other word or way to put it. might seem as if i'm exaggerating here but hey, to all those who were able to watch as well, i am not kidding, right? these squads are exceptional. the costumes alone were a show on its own already...kudos to these squads: UP - they incorporated synchronized swimming in their routine - how creative can anyone get other than the iskos and iskas? UST - okay, all i can say is, they all have extremely flexible bodies to have been able to execute such matrix moves:) DLSU - tradition. tradition. tradition. nevertheless, it was flawless and i honestly expected a third or even a second placer for these guys. ATENEO - their costumes made all the pep girls seem so much lovelier and hell lot sexier than they all actually are. :)

looking forward to an NCAA cheerdancing competition soon. :)

it is true na magaling ang benilde sa CHEERDANCING!!! pero un lang...

they can do their lifting well!!! no offense! laging may bumabagsak kawawa naman un mga nili-lift! mali kasi *** preparations nila eh. madaming bounce. laging one man lang.. they can't even make a simple toss nor simple pyramid!! un lang

some skuls namn are trying na to do sum stunts diba!

only ten cheerleaders at a time??
i'm sorry but that rule just sounds plain stupid.
is there no way we can change that?
i'm sure there's a complaint committee somewhere waiting to heed our calls, right?

it's sad but true, the uaap cheerleaders are fantastic! sobrang, galing. we obviously have a lot to learn pa from them.

Kasi we're the only ones who can do the real scorpion hindi fake ha, arabesque, inverted arabesque and other pyramids. Kaya lang we don't do much stunts sa half-time kasi half time lang naman yon.kaya tuloy walang masyado nakakakita nung stunts namin. Atsaka once lang naman may nahulog sa amin nung half-time kasi sobra yung pag-boost sa kanya when she was doing the Scorpion during the CSB- Mapua Game. You should see our basket toss, di lang namin ginagawa sa half time. Watch our competitions and other performances kahit sa video lang. No Offense, just explaining why we don't usually do the extreme stunts during half time performances. PEACE!!!;)

 Animo CSB!!!

well, i think coolshank is right. in the NCAA half time there are only 10 performers allowed and time is too limited. CSB peppers can do liftings well. in fact, even their new recruits can perform well na din... i saw them perform during the half time ng WNCAA. peace!

okay, now those pics of american ladies and their spotters are totally out of our league. uaap itself isn't comparable to the ncaa, what more these westerners? these guys are really something else. and they should be. i believe it's where the cheerleading sport really started from anyway. but i honestly believe that uaap schools can give these people a run for their money. :) not to mention, we're a hell lot sexier!!!!

WOW!!!
Those are really amazing stunts and very difficult to do. if u just look at their built and the mass of their bodies.... its somewhat helps them to create liftings as such, but in comparison to Filipino cheerleading we can say that we are still far in achieving class like that... dont you think so? but pep squad like CSB, i can say... that they are on the right track!!! ;)

you know what guys we can do those stunts also! all we need is hard work, dedication and a lot of enthusiam in cheering. so what if the americans did that?! We should not shy away and bow down our heads from them! Uaap and Ncaa are both a training ground for all cheerleaders and cheerleading spectators. The only problem is Uaap is keeping up whith the trend of cheering as for Ncaa nagmamatigas.

I agree Ncaa cheering is a little boring as compared to Uaap. Second most of cheerleaders of Ncaa are not that dedicated in cheering they are more after whatever the privilages a cheerer gets.

It is indeed that cheereing originated in the US for almost 104 years (it saterted one sunny afternoon of November 1898) and it is evolving ever since.

you know what guys we can do those stunts also! all we need is hard work, dedication and a lot of enthusiam in cheering. so what if the americans did that?!

NCAA cheerleaders will eventually evolve into what UAAP contemporary cheerleading squads are doing. Don't lose hope, the traditional cheers can be combined with new routines pa naman! Being creative is one thing, being passive is another. ;)

It started one sunny afternoon of November 1898 and?

Well i am not really familiar about it but this is what i know.

During a football game one November afternoon of 1898(i think in Tennesee, hope i spelled it right) a male student wrote cheers for their team and invited his schoolmates to join him in cheering for their team. Then one thing leads to another. Next thing you know everyone is forming their own cheering team.

At first cheereleaders are called "yellmen"(dati cheering teams are an all guys team).

Then the girls joined in at around the 1900s.

Then the girls dominated the it and now it is called Cheerleading team.

I think what is important is not how cheerleader dance or show their SKIN just to attact the crowd but more on its ability to steer up the crowd and make them cheer. The way I saw the Philippine cheerleaders do their chore, their moves are inspired by the americans. Well they have perfected copying and thats what Filipinos are good at. I would rather go for ORIGINALITY. And that time immemorial this cheers would stand through the generations. The Arriba of Letran and the Indian Yell of San Beda - a classic that can never be surpassed. And this two schools should be proud of that. We humble ourselves.

I don't think so!!! We all know that mapua pep really improved a lot, pro it doesn't mean na *** *** ang may capability na magpasigla ng crowd..... In fairness to benildeans, pangit *** ang pinapakita ng players nla *** hindi na makuhang mag-cheer ng mga tao!!!

I find it so funny to find some people bragging how good their school's cheerleaders perform their half time show. Well they copied almost perfectly the moves by US cheerleaders and the way they show their SKIN just to attract their supporters. Well I think in cheerleading what is important is HOW they can inspire the crowd do their SIGNATURE cheer. Well its nice to Watch ladies almost barenaked doing the chores. But I think its much better to have an interactive cheer between the cheerleaders and their supporters. SAN BEDA's Indian Yell and Letran's Arriba are cheers that survives the generations. Time immemorial these cheers have inspired their crowd and forever be their signature Yells.
