Sources revealed that Arjun Cordero of San Beda will not be suiting up for the Red Lions next season. After two years in SBC's fold, he will move on to join the Blue Eagles for the UAAP wars. How true?

For San Beda's sake i hope that "report" is untrue . . . having their most dismal basketball season in ages - the red lions has lost a whole bunch of games and Ato Badolato's red cubs aren't as dominating as of late . . . San Beda doesnt deserve this kind of change . . . most certainly, a step to the wrong direction . . . somebody ought to tell Arjun, that he shouldnt leave san beda since he already spent two years there and the team is now centered around him . . . if he would go to Ateneo, he cant play next year kaagad coz he has to obtain a residency of one year and plus, he has to adjust once again to the system . . . he might turn into another Jenkins Mesina.

It's a good thing San Beda has loyal players like Arjun in its team. Ang hirap kasi ng umaalis ang mga juniors player nila pagdating ng college...parang hindi inaalagaan. Look at players like Ren-ren Ritualo, Michael Bravo, LA Tenorio...mga galing San Beda na naglipatan pagdating ng college.

Not that I'm complaining, because Ren-ren has done wonders for La Salle. :D

But I hope this becomes a wake-up call for the red and white squad's admin and sports officials para naman makapag-champion sila sa seniors division.

Maraming reason kung bakit lumilipat ang mga SAN BEDA high players, katulad ni Ritualo. Kung ano man yon, bahala na sila run basta ang BEDA hindi lalaban sa isang "bidding war".

Although Lasalista ako, dapat siguro pagisipan nya mabuti ang paglipat sa Ateneo (o sa La Salle...hehehehe). Why ba kamo?

1. Ateneo is in the top 3 schools sa Philippines. Compare that to San Beda, a virtual has been institution (maganda dati, ngayon class B na lang) san ka pa pupunta?

2. Better facilities. Mas maganda naman ang Ateneo noh.

3. Better Sports program: kung ang present turn of events ang titingnan, o% ang SBC BBall program. Mas maraming matutunan si Cordero sa Ateneo.

4. Gifts: well, its no secret Ateneo gives out gifts to promising players. Sa Beda walang ganun. Kahit na sabihin na natin na walang gifts, Ateneo is the obvious choice.

Just like BJ Manalo, Cordero should think: "Saan ko ba made-develop ang skills ko for a brighter future? Sa NCAA or UAAP? Sa Beda ba or Ateneo?

Class B?? Ouch that hurts... well, i ain't gonna start a fight. I know it ain't true. Just wanna say, there are things found in San Beda that I won't trade for La Salle or Ateneo. And I should say that the Bedan graduates can compete side by side with the Ateneans or the La Sallians, or even better. Based from experience I would like to share ya this:

IN the workplace, when two Bedans who just met for the first time, would likely react like long time friends compared if you see 2 La Sallians or Ateneans, they would probably just pass each other by.

San lumakas si Ritualo? Enough said... San Beda is just a sleeping giant waiting to be awaken.

And about Arjun thinking twice before he decided on staying in San Beda...loyalty was what brought him there. And that is a virtue I admire in him. :)

Sana the talks about San Beda imroving its sports development system are true. Para naman hindi nagkakka-drain sa talent ng Beda. They should give incentives sa players, like what the other teams are doing. Yung pag nananalo, may bonus. Para may panlibre sila, di ba? :)

theres no question SAN BEDA produces the best high school players in the country...many thanks to coach BADOLATO...but the college program SUCKS...guess SBC should transfer to the UAAP so that their top players wont transfer...CORDERO will make it big at ADMU if he transfers...tuloy tuloy na yan hanggang PBA...but sa NCAA siya most likely bagsak niya MBA...

Look San Beda should stay in the NCAA . . . it is the only founding member remaining in the NCAA . . . goodthing CSB is there to whom DLSU has passed its torch in the NCAA . . . i say, CSB and SBC are the only schools that give the NCAA some semblance of class and prestige vis-a-vis UAAP. . . CBS and SBC should develop some sort of a "healthy" rivalry, a type that the NCAA could really promote and market - just like the ADMU-DLSU rivalry that the UAAP marketed

Wala naman sa league yan, asa player. Kung di ka pursigido, you can't make it it both MBA or PBA.. Wala sa program yan, sa tyaga at sipag madadaan yan.....

Hindi sa programa yan??!! HELLO!!?? A good player can not become a better one kung ang alam lang nya all his life is "larong buko".

A good program can and will improve a player's skill.

Walang heart sa UAAP? Baliw ka ba? Nagda-dive na nga mga players namin para lang makuha ang bola tapos no heart/ commitment pa yun?

Mas larong buko at barumbado lang sa NCAA. NCAA's brand of play is more rough kaya siguro akala mo mas pursigido mga players dyan.

Wala sa league? Partly true. Kaya lang kung walang exposure ang magaling na player, wala din. At the rate things are going with the crumbling NCAA--no media coverage, ni hindi ko nga kilala mga players and coaches sa NCAA eh!, jlg students....haaay. Ano pa ba masasabi ko?


The UAAP is the undisputed glamour collegiate league. We are better in member schools, brand of play, coverage, coaching, methods. In almost all aspects.

NCAA only has age.

Oh and one more thing. Arjun Cordero, since you do read PEx, pag-isipan mo mabuti ang desisyon mo. Although it is admirable to be EVER loyal to the venerable St. Bede, pagisipan mo muna ang desisyon mo. No one will think less of you if you decide to transfer to TAEneo (well, it would be better kung La Salle :elf: ). Bedans will even be proud of you if you make it big in the UAAP and then the MBA/ PBA.

San Beda does not have the facilities to train you well. It does not have the program to support a talented player such as you. Beda does not have the coaches, training, inspiration to lift your team to victory.

You will be a better player with TAEneo. They can give you training. They can give you exposure. They can give you connections (isipin mo lang: Manny Pangilinan of Talk n Txt!!). You can help the hapless Eagles beat La Salle (pero kung ako sayo mag-La Salle ka na lang)

im wondering why the best junior players of san beda bounding to the uaap schools. just like benjie paras, ronnie magsanoc, mike bravo, xavier nunag, toti almeda (up maroons), ren-ren ritualo (la salle green archers), magnum membrere ang la tenorio (ateneo blue eagles).

Tinatanong pa ba yun kung bakit? Ang sagot makikita sa atin din eh. As long as San Beda don't get their act straight mag sisialisan talaga yan. Actually gusto ko nga rin yun eh, kasi mapapansin ang talent nila sa UAAP at the same time dala nila ang bandila ng San Beda.

Yup, it's true. Jun-jun Tabique is going to suit up for UP this UAAP season. At least he'll get his playing time there, unlike if he was recruited by La Salle or Ateneo. But still...sayang din, sana Bedan pa rin siya.
