So, how's Manila these days? The last time I was there was last September 4th 2000! I know it's only been a year, but I don't know if the atmosphere is still the same. So, can someone give me any ideas about what I'm gonna expect in the airport (NAIA)? I mean, is the it gonna be loaded with people? Please give me an idea if you have the time to do so! Thanks and Peace!

Everything's pretty normal. If you're expecting something really different especially sa NAIA, well, I hate to disappoint you but, nah! :D

NAIA won't charge you USD1.00 for baggage carts anymore. It's Independence Day holiday on June 12, airports and roads might be full of travellers.

Manila is still great as usual especially for new comers.. You can spend the night in the famous night spots or hotels depending on your taste similar to other Asian cities.. The climate is relatively hot but you will definitely stay indoors in major hotels so no problem.. You might encounter some hassles as benjiep and kartoonista just mentioned but its common also in some other destinations, so no problem. Everything else seems to be normal..

hi, I am also going there for 8 days and taking a friend with me, shes white european. She wants to stay in the beach. Can you suggest of any nice, white beach that near Manila. I like her to feel safe and be safe. She is a little nervous because of Abu Sayaf story. Any night life in Manila that she could go and enjoy herself without any hassle because she is white. Please help...

She won't be hassled just because she's white - Filipinos are very hospitable and we don't discriminate, generally speaking. Cultural diversity is very much accepted here. Beach near Manila? hmmm....try Anilao beach in Batangas but I would suggest that you bring her to Boracay :) Try checking the Department of Tourism's website, there are lots of great beaches to choose from. Have fun!
