I have one, but I seldom use it because I got a credit card about three months after getting the Express Cash card. Okay siyang ipangkain (Pancake House :glee: ). I've lost the brochure. I suggest you look around first and see if the shops that interest you accept MasterCard Electronic cards.

Just go to the nearest BPI branch or even one of those BPI express branches. Then ask for an application form for Express cash. Right now, they have a promo. Instead of a minimum of 500 pesos, you just have to put a minimum of 100 pesos in order to get the card. Ikaw bahala what color you want for the card. :) There are 3 colors to choose from.
After that, kahit mag zero balance ang cash card mo, ok lang. :)
As for me, I finally got mine, for free! (in a sense) I bought a Globe SIM pack for my sis and there was an express cash card included. So I took it. Under my name bale ang card. :) Then afterwards, I went to the nearest BPI branch that can encode a PIN into the card. So now, I can also withdraw cash from the card. :) I now use my card to put aside cash for my quarterly pension plans without having to open another bank account for it!

how true is it that the bpi express cash card can double as an atm of sorts? is it possible to make cash withdrawals through the card?

yes it doubles as an atm too.. some bpi branches even have this promo now that if you're a globe user you can get the bpi globe xpress cash which is silver and comes with 100 initial load.. cool huh?
disadvantage? you need to deposit cash too.. and you can't check your balance by any means.. meaning if you have a check in your name you can't deposit it there or you can't transfer funds either..

I will not suggest the BPI Express Cash dahil hindi ** express. It is the ATM card used by our company for payroll. ATM is always down during paydays and weekends. Ang masama pa. you cannot get your money over the counter. And express cash would not work with any other ATM except BPI or BPI subsidiary like BPI family bank. Nagrereklamo na nga kami sa office kaso, one of the investors ng company namin e mga ayalas kaya wala kaming magawa. Express Cash is not worth it. It's not OK. One more thing, if someone puts money into your cash let's say today, you will not be able to get until 24 hours later. Kaya tawag ko sa kanya, Delayed Cash hindi Express Cash.

Hi!
1. I read from BPI that its only Available in GMMA areas...does it mean I cant buy one for my father whose living in Mindanao, Cagayan de Oro and use it there?
If No, or can be use in Cagayan de Oro.
2.Can I apply/buy it thru BPIexpressonline, and then maybe have it loaded there also, maybe on monthly basis( I been doing/paying my BPI credit card bills here/online)
3.Does my father will recieve the card at Cagayan de Oro BPI branch.
4.What does it mean of "MasterCard Electronic", is it a new type of POS station,
5.It should work with any Merchant that accept Mastecards, right?like using Credit Card.
Thanks.

no need for express cash
just bring cash...by getting bpi express cash, you are losing flexibility ie you are limiting your purchasing power

Good day. I am Edgar, Sales Specialist for BPI.
1. Express Cash is a prepaid debit card, meaning you need to put in cash first before you can use it to purchase goods or services.
2. Express Cash is a MasterCard-enabled card, so you can use it in merchants that accept MasterCard payments, just like an ordinary credit card.
3. Maximum amount allowed in the card is 10,000.00
4. Express Cash offers portability, security and peace of mind of shopping without the need to carry cash, it offers as an extension to both credit cards and cash.
5. Express Cash is available nationwide, and could serve as cash card gifts. It can be used for as long as there are BPI ATM's and MasterCard Terminals in the area.
6. Express Cash offers additional perks and rewards whenever you use it in partner establishments.
If you have any other question, feel free to contact me at 0917-883-3427, epzamorajr@bpi.com.ph.

^ I don't think so since technically debit card ang BPI Express Cash at hindi credit card.

I had one before, but quickly grew out of using it when they put limitations to the number of times you could withdraw from the ATM. Initially it was good to have since it acted similar to an ATM card, but when BPI put all these restrictions, it became too much of a hassle to use. Not a credit card, not an ATM. Not even as good as debit card as BDO's, for example.

You could withraw as much as you can, the only "restriction" is that, we charge only 5 pesos per withdrawal, this is because we are promoting that you use your card through MasterCard POS for cashless shopping convenience. Also, this has no maintaining balance.
What I can offer you as an alternative is BPI Direct's ATM savings. A 500 maintaining balance only, with NO Initial Deposit and a higher interest at 1.375% pa.
Contact me for details.
