I know for a fact that these schools have outstanding Business and Engineering Courses. I opt to go to UP but when I review the curriculum, La Salle's Engineering curriculum is better than UP. Plus factor I heard that La Salle topped several engineering board exams like ECE, Mecha etc. People from La Salle and UP, need help.

This is an easy one because the answer is obvious - UP - especially if one factors in cost of education in the equation. Even I, a Lasallite, will concede.

La Salllite...Thanks for the reply! But you didn't help me, anyone in PEX who could brief about the program? Can you just post about the schools program? I just want a healthy thread. Speak for your school please. Anyway, LaSallite, thanks for your time and effort. Peace!

i think, in terms of quality of education, there is not so much difference. the quality of education in up (business and engineering) is also at par with la salle but the thing is only a few only a small percentage of engineering enrolees get to finish their degrees in UP mainly because of the peer pressure, barkada, inuman, tong-its, frat. etc... i had a really smart friend from lsgh who opted to take his engineering degree in UP who got kicked out from the college of engineering because of his absences. i also had another friend who opted to go to dlsu. he was less smart than the other but he graduated on time and passed the board on his first take.
well, you have two good schools. you could choose to go to la salle and be on the safer side but pay high tuition fees or you could go to UP and be disciplined. it's your choice!

U.P.!
But seriously, UP teaches you a lot of thing in and out of the classrooms.
Guessing from your post, I think you want to take up Engineering. Admittedly, La Salle has a very good facilities, excellent teachers, and Eng'g courses. But I would advise you to go to UP. There much more to education than just good facilities and teachers. I'm not saying that UP really lacks in these aspects. In fact, you can't beat the brand new facilities of the Electrical and Electronics Eng'g Department.
Ah basta, mag-UP ka! :D

If money is not a consideration..It's La Salle..Still, which ever school you opt to choose, you'll be sure of a good quality education.

Funny how I almost never hear people from DLSU call themselves LaSallites...
Didn't they teach us to call ourselves LaSallians?
Just a thought.

Lasallites are the old alumni. They wanted to change that because the word Lasallite connotates an elitist impression. Here's why.
La Salle + elite = Lasallite.
They changed it to Lasallian - I don't know who coined the term but it's one individual who goes by the ideals of De La Salle - Religio, Mores and Cultura and is not looked upon as elite. There are people who live up to it, but there are also Lasalistas who do not.
The name Lasallian also refers to the newer breed and generations of Lasallistas - like ours.
Going on topic, I believe that UP has the better one but you cannot say that DLSU does not give high-quality education. But we gotta give it to UP, the cream of the crop go there, and they always find ways to excel and be recognized in good ways in academics or extra curriculars. But then again, we cannot say that La Salle does not do that. Both universities are members of the AUN and it takes a lot of accomplishments and accolades to reach that point. They (La Salle) are doing it very wall, only that UP is doing better at that.

dredd6699, weve got the same observation, i also have some school mates back in high school who chose UP, but more than half of them were kicked out and only a few graduated, at sobrang tagal pa mga 7 years ata. the later bathces who enrolled at lasalle even graduated first, at lahat sila pasado ng bords.
the ones who went to UP are the far better students before they enter college, but after a few years, nadaig pa sila nung mga basagulero nung hayskul who opted lasalle. hindi lang sa engg to ha.

Ateneo will always be the number 1 school in all asia. :)
atenean ka ba talaga?
anyway...sige tuloy mo lang ang pinaniniwalaan mo...
as far as i know...ateneo doesn't have an impressive engineering program...very far from the quality that up and dlsu provide...i think UST is even better than ateneo in that field...

actually it's nice if you come from one of the top schools if you're applying for a job.... kasi kahit anong sabihin pa nila... tinitingnan rin talaga yon ng ibang companies.... pero in the end.. what matters most is how you make the most out your education! *okay*
galing ka nga sa Ateneo, UP, La Salle.... pero you're a lousy A--hole!!!! ..... walang kwenta ka pa rin in the end!!!!!!!! :bop:

UP! It is the UNIVERSITY of the PHILIPPINES.
I could go on forever about why UP is better, but I won't bore you. Do bear in mind:
UP is academically superior in many aspects, has distinguished alumni and faculty, has an intriguing history, and, above all, has myriad opportunities. I can't say for the same thing for La Salle or Ateneo.

if you have the money to spend, go to lasalle. you could say both schools have high chances of getting a graduate to land a spot at the top of the boards. From my experience, yung karamihan ng natutunan ko sa UP eh hindi naman kailangan para sa board. So if you wanna go with "go to college and pass the boards", masmadaling route ang lasalle.
