can anyone cite possible financial sources to study abroad? i mean, usually MA programs in the US aren't covered by fellowships and/or scholarships, right? Only PhDs are.

so where can we get funding exactly? I'm actually still confused on whether to get an MA or a PhD in public administration. Am I required to have work experience before I can take PhD studies in public administration?

hi ricey,

you can try grabbing one of those fullbright scholarships. but the deadline for this year is tomorrow, may 31. you can try next time they offer it again. goodluck. how i wish i can also finish my MA in media technologies in the U.S. or in Australia. If you find other means to get financial suppport do inform me. god bless!

you can try searching http://www.salliemae.com http://www.fastweb.com
http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/dollars/scholar/search.htm
thru these sites i've come across a couple of grants for international students such as

International Fellowship, AAUW Educational Foundation
http://www.aauw.org/3000/fdnfelgra/internat.html

Deborah Partridge Wolfe International Fellowship
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc
ATTN: National Educational Foundation
1734 New Hampshire Ave NW
Washington, DC 20009
202-387-3103

you can also get employment at the university you'll be studying at but i doubt if that'll be enough to cover the tuition. if you're that determined, sell your house and everything else worth anything you own, and that should just about do it. :D

oh by the way, business and nursing schools usually require work experience. i don't know about public admin though. i guess a little experience won't hurt. :)
