My bandmate and I were jamming guitar last night in the College campus at around 11pm when a security guard approached us and politely asked us to leave. He mentioned that the Ateneo now enforces a curfew.
We joked that the Ateneo was now under a State of Rebellion :)
What are the latest security measures being enforced in my alma mater?

curfew? ngayon ko lang narinig yun ah. ang alam kong curfew para sa dormers pero kahit yung around 1am ata ang curfew. baka ayaw lang ng guard na masyadong maingay kaya sinabi yun sa inyo.

Mikoid, I believe that's due to the increased activity of thieves and organized crimes in the neighborhood. There've also been lots of people in the past few weeks reported to be missing.
Where were you jamming last night? There are still some places which don't have "curfew" I think.

Speaking of stricter security measures, I think one of the reasons why they were implemented is because the administration is also wary of the bombings happening around Manila, in part a consequence of the present politicial instability. Why, rumors have been circulating around that during the May 1 EDSA incident, a few staunch supporters of the ousted president "attacked" near Ateneo! If this is true, the administration has reason enough to impose really strict security measures. This rumor remains to be confirmed, though.

The curfew's been around for around 2 years already, I think. Students aren't allowed to stay late on campus, for security reasons.

I remember staying in the Ateneo until around 11:30 or 12 in the evening with my friends the last two or so years...
Well, what with the volatile conditions now...
