your opinion please: BA Orcom or Journalism?

i am an incoming sophomore of the BA Organizational Communication Program at UP Manila. Only two universities offer it, UPM and DLSU-Taft. it's a relatively new course, basically dealing with (obviously) communication within an organization, but because any group of people qualifies as one, it's very flexible and versatile. job hunting is not too big a problem.

Journalism, on the other hand, is a very specific course. i don't think it needs further explanation.

sabi kasi nila, sa OrCom, you'll be a "jack of all trades, master of none."

i've been thinking, is it better to stay in OrCom and have all my possibilities open, or shift to Journ where i will know exactly where i'm going?

i'd go with journalism. well... i guess it depends what you want in your future. I see orgcomm as more PR stuff which I can't stand. I think journalism is just more productive and directed towards a goal that you can really envision. journalism is more hands on i think and definitely more exciting.

Frankly, being a UP Manila student also, you better stay in OrCom na lang, dear.
