halikayo, pag-usapan natin ang pinakamaganda at pinaka-in na course ngayon.what can you say?

DecimalCat

I think Management Information Systems sa ADMU. Almost all of my batchmates who passed there in Ateneo took that course. In demand daw yun ngayon eh. Sounds interesting d ba?

Courses that includes computer stuff are the "in" thing right now - com sci, com eng, com tech, and the list goes on. Not just because the course is way popular or in demand does not necessarily means na you gotta take it or something.

As I always say, go for what you really like.

of course, pinaka-in are computer related courses

Maliban sa IT-related profession, I'd say Public Health.

as what decimal cat said, its MIS. they need people who have knowledge in IT and management at the same time... and ateneo can offer you that! Ü

;) :) :p

I think it has to those IT-related courses. More than half of job openings are in IT.

I beg to disagree DecimalCat... MIS is a half-baked serving of Comp Sci and Management --resulting to a little but not enough of both. If it's IT you want, Comp Sci is still the best degree for you...

What are country needs today is a fresh new batch of economists who would help lead our country out of the recession it is presently experiencing and bring it back on its knees to start being more globally competitive in the world of business. The fact that we put an economist in the presidency means that we, Filipinos, are finally waking up to the realization that our country needs more professional economists who would solve our most difficult macroeconomic problems. This is the reason why I think the most "in" course nowadays is economics. The increasing demand for these kinds of professionals makes it even more popular as a course. So if you truly want to help our country, take up economics. :D

In Dubai, the job vacancies I often see in newspapers and sites are seeking for graduates of the following degrees:
Accountancy
Management Information Systems
Computer Science
Computer Engineering
Information Technology
Electronics & Communications Engineering
Architecture

As what are indicated, most of them are IT-related ones.

Anyway, I don't know, parati na lang yan ang nakikita ko. Lol. Hehe. :D

No. If "in" pertains to job opportunities, a friend whose brother graduated at ateneo major in MIS tells me that his brother found it difficult to find a job.

I think Engineering pa rin ang OK na kunin na course.

not only in Dubai, actually there are many graduates of those courses but only few are qualified to perform the job in accordance to the standards of the company. Same with nursing and other courses that are in demand both here and abroad. Another thing, more than a diploma is a "luck" and "skills"

TIP
Ang unang trabaho niyo pilitin niyong mapasok sa magandang company na nagbibigay ng magandang training at experience.

haha. onga.. bat MFI? Sorry but IMO, some MFI people are so jaded. A considerable amount of them shift.. if not end up working in banks.

I'll go for Education courses. It's like nursing. Just as how the world will never run out of sick people... The world will never run out of children who need to learn.

Parang hindi na nga rin ang EDUCATION, kasi nung highschool ako ang mga teachers ko Engineers, CPA, tapos iba naman Political Science and Economics. Tapos sa pre-school mas gusto ng mga schools ang Psych or Behavioral Science.

With so many schools offering BSN, it's definitely B.S. Nursing.

But then no matter how "in" a certain college program is, what we should always put in mind is ourselves - our passions, our strengths.

From there, we will know what we're gonna take and the things in ourselves that can be developed.
