Coach Franz Pumaren's unblemished record of making it to the Final 4 is finally over after today's disappointing loss to an upset-minded NU Bulldogs squad.

What can DLSU do to be more competitive next season? I, for one, believe that the developments of Sam Marata, Joseph Tolentino, Yutien Andrada and Arvy Bringas will be crucial to the Green Archers' performance for next year. Hopefully the veterans of the team like Simon Atkins, James Manghas, PJ Barua, Maui Villianueva and Bader Malabes will step up their game for next season.

Most importantly, the team is missing a LEADER. Sure, we have Hyram Bagatsing, who has a bonafide locker room presence. But his abilities, as far as it can go, is nowhere near DLSU greats like JV Casio or Joseph Yeo.

Rumors say that he's going to ADMU. Those are just rumors though, anything can happen in a year.

There's a bunch of players that are looking to make a move to the DLSU MBT next season. Unfortunately, we only have room for 5 guards, 4 forwards, and 3 centers. Based on their performances this season, I think James, Malabes and Ferdinand are on the block.

Hopefully, the s73 lineup would look like this:

PG - Atkins, Revilla, Tolentino
SG - Marata, Capacio*, Elorde, Banal
SF - Webb, Barua, Mangahas*, De La Paz
PF - Bringas, Paredes
C - Andrada, Van Opstal

* If Capacio does intend to continue with DLSU, I think Elorde is the odd man out

Ooooops! sorry I forgot about Mendoza and Villanueva. I definitely agree that they deserve their places in the team next season after their work this season.

This just shows that there are many players that are capable of playing in next season's MBT. Every player should earn their spot next season because talents from Zobel and Greenhills are also looking for spots on the team.

About Mangahas, I still think he should be in the lineup, he's more of a role player rather than a go to guy. He's playing his last year anyway, maybe he could still redeem himself next season.

Malabes and Ferdinand, I think, will be cut from next season's roster. Manguera, like Chandumal, should be relegated to team B next season for further improvement.

May talent ang La Salle. Desire lang ang kulang.

Si Atkins naman, hindi sya yung tipong mala-Cardona type ng player eh na mahilig mag score. Pero defensively ok naman sya, and marunong mag coordinate ng offense. Mataas lang siguro expectations sa kanya ng mga tao kaya mukhang hindi magaling.

actually in S72 we already had players na ayaw magpatalo. kaya lang, they were the young ones who needed a bit more seasoning. i hope they would be mature enough next year. as it is, parang young team pa rin tayo next year.

I'm not assuring that we will dominate next season, but i assure you that we will definitely bounce back from our 6th place finish.

I'm confident with our team next season. These boys will just get better. However, i dislike the fact that dindo pumaren will be taking over as head coach next year. he may have good credentials, pero i don't think he is ready to bring us the championship. Mag-assistant coach na lang muna siya.

I really feel that the perfect coach for the green archers is Coach Yeng Guiao. Bagay na bagay siya sa sistema at playing style ng La Salle. Under the tutelage of Coach Yeng Guiao, players like Joshua Webb and Arvie Bringas will definitely develop into stronger and more confident players.

Gwyne is going to Ateneo daw. he already passed the entrance exam. but i dont know if he will enroll in Ateneo :lol:

^ Hintayin na lang natin si Nico Elorde. Basta ang alam ko e nakita name niya sa mga passers ng ACET. Oo nga problema nga niya yung pagpunta sa Ateneo kasi 3rd stringer. E paano kung dumagdag pa si Keifer Ravena e siya ginagawang PG sa RP Youth.

Basta I am sure Arnold Van Opstal (AVO) will be going to Taft next year.
