THE OTHER SISTER - it's a recent film and a good one, too..and the soundtrack is a mix of sentimental and pop.

SISTER ACT 1 - i actually memorized almost all the songs in it. I still remember some of it til now.

NOW AND THEN - i love oldies music...i still listen to it every now and then.

MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING - yeah, i guess we all saw what a great movie it was...it was more worth it, because the soundtrack is something i'll never get tired of listening to.

ALADDIN - it's a jolly cartoon soundtrack. i listen to it when i'm in a jovial mood.

Judgment Night - collaboration between rap's coolest and rock's hardest ( bec. there's a Slayer medley of The Exploited's songs and House of Pain + Helemet). Soundtrack for the new millenium.

I don't think too many of you are familiar with the OST from "The Truth About Cats & Dogs," but I love it. My favorite cuts on the album include "Caramel" (sexy and hypnotic) and "Angel Mine" (malambing and hypnotic). The soundtrack also includes upbeat tracks such as "Run Around" and many more.

I think I should also add the soundtrack of Episode One. "Duel of the Fates" and "Anakin's Theme" are so cool! Plus, the opening song is eternally great!

You should also try the Dawson's Creek soundtrack...very mellow, with a little bit of attitude mixed in. My favorites: "Life's a *****," "Ready for a Fall," "Cry Ophelia," and "I don't wanna wait," by Paula Cole

ya, City of Angels is great! The soundtrack for Dawson's Creek isn't so bad either.
I've recently watched She's All That and the songs in there are very catchy such as Afghan Wigs' "66" and of course, "Kiss me"..but i can't seem to find the soundtrack. Does anyone know if there is a soundtrack to the movie and where it's available?

Almost all the films Ennio Morricone served as musical scorer are guaranteed to have sublime sounds. Check out THE MISSION, LOVE AFFAIR, ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST, MALENA, CINEMA PARADISO... For me, only John Williams comes close to the epic grandness of Morricone's compositions (though, honestly I don't really like John Williams; his soundtracks are a bit too ponderous sometimes, but I acknowledge his magnificence). Also, I like `ROUND MIDNIGHT, EMPIRE OF THE SUN, THE DEER HUNTER and SHINE.

As for soundtrack albums where musical scoring is not given significance, I would say I like BOYS ON THE SIDE (featuring the vocals of folkies to neo-folkies to rockers, from Bonnie Raitt to Joan Armatrading to yes, Whoopi Goldberg), WAITING TO EXHALE (Chaka Khan's "My Funny Valentine" was outstanding!), HOPE FLOATS, MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD AND EVIL (great songs from k.d. lang, Paula Cole, Rosemary Clooney and even Clint Eastwood's daughter Alison) and MOULIN ROUGE (featuring Ewan McGregor, Nicole Kidman and others including Rufus Wainwright).

Info on the lesser known movies...

Fathers and Sons is a little-known Jeff Goldblum movie (didn't even watch it, only heard some of the soundtrack's songs on NU 107's Not Radio), with an even lesser-known soundtrack. By far the best songs in there are "Chew The Chew" by Gumball (featuring ex-Dinosaur Jr. member Don Freeman) and Juliana Hatfield's excellent cover of "Yeah! Yeah!" (I say yeah yeah, that's what I say...)

S.F.W. starred Stephen Dorff and Reese Witherspoon...didn't see the movie, but I've sampled the soundtrack several times at (the late, lamented) Jay's DiscHouse in the University Mall...features great tracks from Hole ("Teenage *****"), Monster Magnet ("Negasonic Teenage Warhead"), Suicidal Tendencies ("No F***ing Problem") and others...

I already answered in another thread that I like the soundtracks that feature the musical scoring of Ennio Morricone. His sweeping and sublimely beautiful melodies are best heard in movies from THE MISSION to CINEMA PARADISO to LOVE AFFAIR (1993 version) to the recent MALENA.

But as to soundtracks that feature various artists, I consider the following as highly recommended:

MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN OF EVIL - today's singers singing songs of Johnny Mercer. Great performances from k.d. lang (the opening credit featured her singing very beautifully Mercer's "Skylark"), Paula Cole, veteran jazz singer Rosemary Clooney and even director Eastwood's own daughter Alison.

WAITING TO EXHALE - same formula as above but the music is more Babyface than Jerome Kern. Wonderful reworkings of songs notably from Chaka Khan doing "My Funny Valentine".

BOYS ON THE SIDE - come to think of it, its the same formula as the above albums with performances from Bonni Raitt, Joan Armatrading, Sarah McLachlan (her OL `55 is not found in any of her studio albums but as an outtake in her rarely found LIVE FROM THE FREEDOM SESSIONS. but you can do the next best thing by buying BOYS ON THE SIDE to get a taste of that song's power) and even Whoopi Goldberg.

hey claidi! sorry ngayon lang ako nag-reply. i got my copy at disc exchange in virra mall sa greenhills. BUT, be prepared, it's expensive (P1,000+). the saleslady said they got it from Japan pa and that it's not available anywhere else here in manila. (i don't believe her because i saw one in music one before, pero when i went back, ala na...):hopeless:

anyway, if you're a real sting fan, it's worth it. *okay*
