What can you say about this course guys? Mahirap kaya ito? Practical kaya magshift from nursing to medtech?

maganda ang medical technology. :) oo mahirap siya pero hindi siya katulad ng nursing na sobrang toxic, hehehe.. based from my sister's experience, itatackle niyo kung paano kumuha ng dugo. gumawa ng lab tests, etc.
maganda ring pang-premed to, :D

I think it's as hard as nursing. MedTech usually revolves around lab work.. extracting blood, performing blood/sputum/fecal/semen/urine/body fluids.
I don't think it's practical to shift, since nursing still offers better employment opportunities. If you are thinking which is a better pre-med course, I'd say both are good.

Medtech, imo, is the best pre-med course. Most of my subjects will cover most of your subjects in Med Proper. It's all about laboratory workups and tests that will help the physician in assessing the patient. My third year moments was the most toxic experience way back in school. Yes, it is hard, but very fulfilling and interesting.
OTH, Nursing is all about caring. There is this nurse-patient relationship. You give them their meds, monitor their IV fluids, etc. etc. It's hard as well because you need to prioritize the intervention that you'll give your patient. Most of all, toxic, most especially if you have something like q1, q2 monitoring
Weigh your options, if you want a good pre-med for medicine, choose medtech, but if you really want nursing as your career, then choose it. OTH, if you still want to continue with Medicine and become a physician, it will help you understand that being a nurse isn't that easy as 1-2-3... :)

It is like if you are profit oriented, Nursing may be the best for you.
Seriously, MT has a wider range of scope than any other pre med courses around. In fact most of the Medicine subjects are also being taken up in MT, from Comprehensive Anatomy and Physio, Pharmacology, Microbiology, to name a few.
Under MT you will learn not just simple analysis of blood, other body fluids (urine, pleural, pericardial, etc), tissues that have pathologic cases. To some extent, more advanced lab procedures like DNA typing, tissue crossmatching for transplant cases, electron microscopy, cytotechnology, etc., are also under this profession.

I still remember 11 years ago, when my mother and I had an argument and was asking me to choose nursing as my career path. I didn't gave in to her wishes and I'm glad that I did otherwise I wouldn't be able get to the position where I am right know.
GO MEDTECHS!!

Mahirap mag medtech kailangan maging kaibigan mo chemistry. From 1st to 4th year kasama mo yan. Mas mahirap ang medtech kesa sa nursing. Gaya nga ng sinabi ng mga naunang nagpost, malaki coverage ng medtech at hindi *** simpleng blood, urine and fecal analysis. Medtechs din ang: Tissue cross matching, karyotyping, diagnosis ng cyst, biopsy, autopsy with the confirmation from a pathologist.
