Hi guys i need your help!

I took up BS nursing for 2 1/2 years (because my mom insisted) and skipped last sem , then this sem wala na sila nagawa i shifted to IT (the course that i really want from the start)..

Pero balik na naman ako from the start, although 18 subjects na-credit sakin, matagal pa din aabutin siguro ng 2-3 years. Do you think it's worth continuing? now im searching for a good school that
could offer 2 year course but yung tipong may work talaga pag nagapply ka.. Any suggestions? How about informatics? Ok ba dun?

Badly need your help..

There's this Associate in Computer Science (?)....

Meron nito sa FEU- East Asia at sa UE- Manila..ito lang alam ko since my brother took his entrance exam on these schools. And Center of Excellence and/or Development for computer education sila.

Hindi ko alam sa ibang school kung nag-offer sila ng ganitong course. I'm sure meron din.

And for your info lang, this is a ladderized course...meaning after finishing this 2-year degree, eh you have an option to continue your studies and earn a BS Information Technology or Computer Science, or you can stop and get your associate degree diploma and work.

God Bless!

This kind of question will ultimately depend on what you really want with your career and the things that you can do to reach your goals.

I'm a "do what you do best and the money will follow" type of guy. So in that respect, mas OK na ang makapagtapos ng gusto mong course kasi yan ang magiging career mo (most likely) at ang bread and butter mo.

But I hate to break the news that the market is very very very competitive and IMHO, unless you're really good in IT, 2 years associate degrees won't be enough.

Are you working BTW?

2 years of computer training aint worth anything nowadays. We got lots of grads of 4 year courses who can't even get work, and you'd be competing with them with a bigger handicap.

Hi TS. I believe there's a 2 year course for IT in AMA or ACLC and also AICS (Asian Institute of Computer Studies)....

But I kinda find it hard for you since if you'd be competing with programmers holding a BS diploma because I certainly don't think that a 2 year experience in IT isn't very enough to master everything...baka isang pasadahan lang ang mangyari...

So my advice: Continue the 4 year IT course...and hilig mo naman yun...so kakayanin mo yan!=)

Ganun talaga boss.

Ipinamumukha lang namin na di madali maghanap ng trabaho ngayon. Kaya as much as possible, pagandahin mo ang credentials mo.

Good luck :)

the top software development firms in the philippines, like IBM, Lawson, Accenture, HP are all in recession, and are even laying off people. Sa tindi ng competition ngayon, a 2 year course is not enough.

I'm just saying if you have a shot at finishing a four year course, go with it already.

sali lang ako ha?

in my observation lang, mas maganda talaga mag 4 yr course ka na lang kasi yun yong #1 requirement if u apply for a job. mahirap magsabi kung anong skul ang maganda ... just follow nalang what skul u want yung feeling mo ay magbibigay sayo ng confidence, fun and competence. enjoy studying. love the course. later on, makakahanap ka talaga ng work pag may tyaga talaga. wag muna isipin ang trabaho...galingan mo na lang umpisa sa schooling mo

big things start from small beginnings

kung wala sa puso mo mag nurse wag na, mahirap din maglinis ng dumi at magbuhat ng ibang tao lalo na pag hindi mo gusto ginagawa mo

I had a cousin who went for a 2-yr course in informatics, it was useless sad to say.

If I were you continue with nursing, or enroll on a course that you really like.

Isipin mo, mas may trabaho sa IT kesa sa nursing ngayon.

Well, ewan na lang natin kung ano ang status ng nursing & IT after mong grumaduate. Pero it's pretty obvious talaga na sa panahon ngayon eh di hamak na mas ok pa ang IT kesa nursing kahit pa affected talaga ng recession ang IT.

I've decided to continue a 4 year course in IT but I'd have to transfer. Any school you recommend? Guys?? Wag lang makati area. (Malayo)

How about BSIT in informatics? Kasi malapit dito samin.. Would you recommend it at all? Thanks
