modenas (and other ferraris) are quite becoming a common sight nowadays (weekends of course). i saw that yellow modena last year in makati. some say the yellow one belongs to jack enrile. any confirmation?
if you wanna see ferraris and porsches racing at each other, try skyway sunday early morning (dawn).
to all you riceboys, don't even attempt...

Sa autocross last year dito sa candlestick park sa SF,may isang puti, naka pulang modena, panay spin out at dnf naman!
Siyempre nasa driver pa rin ang skill!
Fastest time of the day 125cc shifter kart pa rin, pero sa OSP-open street prepared, starlet ni Tito Solis pa rin ang bida!www.sfr-scca.com/solo2
Yeah ricers stay at home,no room for little boy's toys here!
ha ha ha ha ! :)

I saw that car too. Bad trip nga eh, pinigil siya ng MMDA. Tinitignan ata kung illegal import yung car. May balak pa atang mang-kotong. Biro mo inabangan yung may ari kasi naka-park lang yung car. Pag-sakay nung may-ari, sugod agad si bwitre.
Now those are the cars I'd like to see drag racing, not those pathetic souped-up Japanese cars.

What other Exotic Cars you saw here in the Philippines? I once saw a Black POrsche (I dunno the model) but it has a large Wing at the back and the tire at the back is wide...

Large rear spoiler and wide rear wheels? That makes it a latter-model Porsche Turbo.
Speaking of exotic cars, I once saw a silver Ferrari 550 Maranello along Edsa turning right to Buendia. Muy, muy caliente car. Mucho pogi points. GRANDE pogi points

Baka yung Modena na yun sa may-ari ng REN transport, I think his name is Nilo Pascugin. Sobrang low-profile na mayaman!!! Makikita mo lang nakapark yung Modena along with other exotic cars. Grabe man!!!

I wonder who in the Philippines is QUALIFIED enough and
EXPERIENCED enough to work on these exotic pieces of art and machinery?
Not to mention the sophisticated equipment required to diagnose/service/repair these cars.
Don't get me wrong,i believe filipinos are one of the most
ingenious/resourceful and reliable 'mechanics' on the planet
!(we're called technicians here in america)

Well, my Uncle's client who owns 6 Porsches including a GT1 and the latest a GT2 full race pa,a Lamborghini Diablo, a Ferrari Maranello and other exotic cars which needs a real qualified professional technician to work on these cars, based from one of the drivers i have spoken with, instead of bringing the cars to HongKong for a tune-up,,that's the nearest place for exotic cars to be tuned..they import a mechanic complete with Hotel and Accomodations bayad pati airfare nung mechanic..the owner also gives him a retainers fee monthly i just don't know kung magkano anyways, it's a lot cheaper daw to do this instead of shipping all his cars for checkups, maintenance etc. this is done twice a year grabeee..some people talaga has their own lifestyle to tell.

I have seen quite a number of realllly great looking cars here @ Pearl Drive, Ortigas Center. Most of them I've seen parked in Pearl Plaza. Kelan kaya ako magkakaron nun? *sigh* :girl:

if you own a ferrari it would be advisable for you to join the ferrari club of the philippines. twice a year, members pool in their money (lots of money that is) and fly in a couple of ferrari mechanics from hong kong to have their cars (obviously ferraris) serviced.
i believe owning a porsche would be more practical.
*sigh* i can only dream...

my uncle had one,an '88 turbo carrera,he broke the clutch
pedal once, the cam covers kept leaking oil,BAD *** car though, black with whale tail, was only a 4-speed,50 Miles Per Hour in first gear ! We were almost followed by a black and white (cops)but i guess at 115 mph while still in second gear the CHP decided against giving chase-got lucky, whew!
Porsche...there's just NO substitute. :)

Jackie Enrile had a red F50 once.. I remember seeing it drive by the Urdaneta park as I sat there chatting with a couple of friends -- no other car I've seen has that sort of visual presence!
I've also seen a couple of 456GTs -- a silver one on the SLEX heading south, and a dark blue one parked outside Shangri-La Plaza. The word's that a rich Chinese businessman owns at least one of them (one of the Coyuitos perhaps?).

Uy, pwede ba ang V-12 dito sa Pinas? :D Isa pang tanong, nakakagawa na ang Pinoy ng engines?! Aba kung kaya ba talaga gumawa ng Pinoy ng ganyan eh di magaling! :D Something like this will definitely help auto racing here in the Philippines since there's a lack of knowledge & dissemination of information about racing here in the Philippines... kulang na kulang if we want to start building F1 cars and circuits. We'd need a lot more exposure to attract sponsors who'll spare moolah (ie. Malaysia has an active sponsor with Petronas). Hopefully, this will help put a Filipino team and drivers in the F1 ranks in the future. *crosses fingers* :D

Uy, thanks for your reply! Bakit naman hindi pupuwede and V-12 dito? Nakita mo naman sa thread na ito puro Ferrari sightings na, o baka mga kit car replica lang yang mga yan? :D Sadly di pa yata nakakagawa ang Pinoy ng sariling engines, wala akong idea... but if you'd ask me the same question I asked of you, I get goosebumps just imagining it. I can almost smell the exhaust fumes... and come that day, a Pinoy-made formula V-12 engine's noise would be the most GLORIOUS sound on the face of the Earth for me :)
So right here and now I would like to encourage and challenge all young people with engineering inclination, AIM for Formula 1!!! Nothing can get any sexier than that. Di ba, Zen? :)
What do we know, maybe the Ayalas would consider funding an F1 car development program in the near future? :D

Ever wonder why the late Jovy Marcelo competed in the US ?
maybe because in Phil motorsports he wouldn't have a chance for recognition and/or advancement.
Mr.Pocholo Ramirez has been working his *** off,how much longer can he keep going on this crusade? If the filthy rich
in the P.I. got off their collective spoiled asses and funded his cause MAYBE the Phil. WILL become a 'stop' in the F1 'show' circuit.

ilpadrino, I just heard somewhere that there are certain engine types na bawal ata dito sa Pinas, ehehehe. :) Anyway, I think everyone longs for the day that we can compete with the rest of the world and not just in terms of car manufacturing, but even in electronics. Let's jut hope we're still alive when that day does come. AIM for Formula 1!!!;)I remember last year we planned to apply in several F1 teams. :D Too bad we forgot about it. :(

Let 'em be, I'm merely rousing 'em hopefully to find myself, and maybe you too, some local competition in F1 construction someday ;) You see, down here we have lots of problems, and you know what the #1 problem is, Pinoys don't believe they can do it. That the Americans can do it better, also the Italians, Germans, French and so on. If we built something that at least have the possibility, even the slightest one of kicking the arse of the likes of Ferrari, we could be changing how Pinoys look at themselves and that's the best thing I believe that could ever happen to us. Our National Pride has gone AWOL for a long time now and I think we need to get into something as BIG as F1 to get some if not ALL of it BACK.

Zen, imports yon siguro pero sa tingin ko walang law na nakasaad na pati mga cars w/ large displacement engines na (talagang) gawa dito covered ng law na yon, dahil maski sila di naniniwala na makakagawa tayo nun :D Tsaka, how can they refuse a natural born, Pinoy V-12 Formula car? :D
Electronics. Hmmm... an F1 car also run on those. F1 is a testing grounds for almost every technology there is.
Mga F1 Pit babe material pala kayo ah :) Ba't di niyo subukan uli?

I saw an old VW Sakbayan recently and it was running great, does that count as an exotic piece of german engineering? :D
And yes, I do believe na we Filipinos can really make good engines. There's like a hole-in-the-wall talyer in every street corner with self-taught mechanics that can do a pretty good patch-up car on a car. And I know a couple of people who own engine fabrication shops that can really modify an engine and give it more torque and boost its HP. What we lack is the technological know-how to really make this work. Sure, we can modify engines but we can't make one from scrap. A blueprint is needed before building an engine. Some even still use a blueprint to modify an engine. That's how serious a job like this takes. Tayo, bara-bara lang and our machinesmiths, since we can't call them engineers just estimate on how many more millimeters they'll bore an engine.

Read between the lines. Yes, we can build engines, we just don't know how to properly and correctly. We have the skills, we don't have the technological know-how. If we can modify an engine, then given the proper training and education, we can build one from scratch complete with blueprints.
