Beside saying "get a suit that fits" it's difficult to to give recommendations without knowing your proportions and measurements. Are you short (below 5'7") and fat? Tall and fat? Wide hips? Big gut? Big butt? Broad shoulders or narrow?

What's your drop? That's the difference between your chest measurement and your waist measurement. Suits are typically designed to have a 6 or 7 inch drop (e.g. 36 chest, 30 waist).

I'm 5'3", so I'd say small and fat. I have narrow shoulders, and my legs are shorter than my torso. And BTW, I'm 16.

5'3" is outside the adult size range of most RTW suit makers. You'll have to get something made to measure. This will be a challenge because local tailors usually have no clue as to how a suit should look/fit, much less how to adjust a suit for an individual.

Some random tips:

If you have narrow shoulders, local tailors will try to make them wider with padding. Don't let them do this! Wider shoulders will only accentuate your shortness.

Since your shoulders are narrow, your should will be proportionally narrow as well. 2" at the widest point should be ok. Match with similarly narrow necktie.

Balance your upper/lower body proportions by going with a shorter jacket. The bottom of the jacket should be at your wrist, rather than in the palm of your hand. I'd recommend a one-button jacket.

Trousers should be cut with a slightly longer rise (higher waistline) to lengthen your legs. Get the trousers made to fit without belt loops. Get side tabs if necessary.

Go for no break. The hem of the pants should just touch the top of your shoe. You will have to force local tailors to hem pants this short, as they will always push for a full break (rear hem down to the heel of your shoe).

Fabric: dark solid like charcoal or midnight navy.

I'm just an inch taller than you, and I also have narrow shoulders.

Recipe for disaster!

Ditch the vest and the white necktie.

Depending on the brown of the suit, go for olive or red/burgundy/maroon.

Since you are on the short side, I'd choose the 2nd suit style. The stripes will make you look longer.

Won't it appear bigger when the jacket is shorter? Looks good on you, but I think it'll look square-ish to me.

^^ A coat/shirt gets longer as their belly girth gets larger. Kung medyo malaki ang tiyan mo, the size to fit your stomach area might be for the taller sizes na kaya you have to make sure that the length of the jacket to be proportioned to your body length.

I've found more tips from men.style.com. Meron din silang explanation regarding your question, TS.

Since you are on the short side, I'd choose the 2nd suit style. The stripes will make you look longer.

Pinstripes like that always say "business" to me. That's great if you're in finance or accounting (the stripes traditionally represented the lines in a ledger book), but you're very young so I think you can go for a more playful vibe.

IMO pinstripes also don't work very well unless it's a full suit. The picture depicts an orphaned suit jacket with odd trousers.

The shorter jacket lengthens your lower body. The illusion of height is all about proportions. Shorter guys like us have proportionally shorter legs. That's why I can sit down next to a person that's 5'8" and you won't notice that much difference in our height until we both stand up together.

It won't look too square unless your shoulders are really square and broad, or your jacket shoulders are heavily padded/extended. Even then, the waist suppression, long V of the lapels, and the open quarters (area below the buttons) counteract that. If you go for a natural shoulder on the jacket it should look fine.

Since wala akong magawa, eto ang iba pang nakita ko:

http://men.style.com/slideshows/mens/fashionshows/S2008MEN/DGMEN/RUNWAY/00200m.jpg

Go with gold...

http://men.style.com/slideshows/mens/fashionshows/F2007MEN/GUCCIMEN/RUNWAY/00030m.jpg

...or go Plaid.

I'm giving you choices here to be playful. Baka may magustuhan ka na. If you want to go plaid, choose small prints. Larger prints make you look bigger and you don't want that.

If all else fails, you can also opt for a tux:

http://men.style.com/slideshows/mens/standalone/gq/fashion/1208/tuxedo/00001f.jpg

--------------------------------------------------------

Those are the best that I can find. Remember, always check the FIT of your suit/tux/whatever clothes you wear. Stylish people wear clothes that fit. :)

Guys, may alam kayo na shop/place na nagbebenta ng fabrics for suits? Magpapatahi na kasi ako ng suit. I need good-quality fabrics, minus the huge price. :D
