She is a very good setter, problem is her team lack good reception hence she can't do her setting. I also think that she can be coverted to a reliable attacker, this girl is an awesome volleyball player.

Even with ust having rhea as a setter they will still be eliminated, after their first few games this season they showed us how raw ust is this season.

I think it is safe to say that Lasalle, Adamson, FEU will secure the top-3 rankings after the elimination and ust and ateneo will contend for the last slot.

it's nice to see that rhea's got her own thread na here.she's been my favorite player for over a year now kasi super talented talaga tong batang to at sa volleyball players na mismo nanggagaling ang mga praises for her.napaka bait at humble pa nya and parati naka-smile sa court,saya panoorin. mejo underrated lang sya,she remains under the radar kasi syempre hinde nya solo yung pagseset sa ust.but considering that she entered ust right after the main setter,denise,won the best setter award and helped lead ust to the season 69 crown,rhea has carved her own niche in the team.mahirap kumuha ng playing time kung uaap best setter yung aabutan mo sa team.hehehe so far rhea's doing a good job but i know she can still do more and be more.can't wait for ust's next game so i can watch her again :)

Alam niyo ba bakit one-in-a-million setter si Rhea?

Kasi magaling siya mag set nung mga mahihirap na sets/plays like back set (Maizo-Dimac connection...UAAP trademark season 71!), quick sets and special plays. She is not your typical setter na open at middle lang, siya yung madaming weapon, di nga lang ganun ka evident kasi sa reception ng UST. But wait for next season. I am sure we will see an amazing Rhea Dimaculangan...especially now that she is getting a lot of accolades from everyone... And now that the defense of UST is improving.

I just hope mag lo loosen up pa ng konti si Rhea. Parang awkward pa rin siya eh.

Yes, what UST's waterloo for years now is now their advantage let's now declare for the next 8 years....because after Rhea Dimaculangan, Kimberly Fajardo of UST High School is next in line...as efficient as Rhea...

As for Rhea, yes, I have been her fan eversince, and signature plays nya talaga yan..she's so precise at giving quick at A attack and back quick...that's because of her formidable A quicker high-school team-mate Carmela Lopez of UP.

Now I guess UST's biggest problem and should yet to be solved is a promising Libero. Michelle del Rosario shou've been very consistent if she was only used consistently since first year, she has very steady hands and quite fast naman for her former size kaso I think nasayangan lang si Coach August kay Kim Lazaro, who used to be a High School Superstar Open Spiker. Unfortunately, UST team didn't give her the chance to play in her original position. That maybe because of her height, which is only around 5'5", as compared to UST's average team height of 5'8" or 5'9". But still I know she personally chose to be in this position, for she got herself into Architecture, a very physically unhealthy course..because we (arki alumni) really get a little sleep, or if we do we must be not in the normal cycle...

Back to the UST Team, we'll I'm still more excited to see the current HIGH SCHOOL Team play for the college team, BANATICLA, FAJARDO, SANTIAGO, and Volleyball Sensation and prized rookie come season 73 ALYSSA VALDEZ... BANATICLA and SANTIAGO's rookie playing year would be next year...with nobody graduating from the UST Team this year...I really do not know what's going to be the arrangement...

well, I am still very positive that UST will enter the semi-finals and I think even with the a loss to La Salle and FEU they can still win a ticket to the finals....they just have to be more consistent..with Aiza as their intelligent captain (by the way Aleona Denise Santiago plays like Maizo, she looks for a donut in mid-air before she attacks) I still think they will make it...

i, too, am excited with the incoming rookies for UAAP Season 72 and 73, and im hoping na sa UST sila mag-aaral for their college education... if this happens, the future looks bright for UST Volleyball with Rhea as playmaker!

Abbie, ako di ko pa nakikita si rhea mag jump serve ngayon college na sya, last season option-2 sya after denise at puros standing serve lang gawa nya parang si ging.

Ang sabi nung si coach august sta.maria pa, ayaw nya nang sobrang fancy looking serve dati ang tinuturo ni coach august ay simple, easy and effective serve para iwas error. A jump serve requires upper body strength and a good form kasi once naka jump na di na pwedeng mag take two. If you guys notice, ang daming nang player from other schools na nag jump serve, yes, yung iba nakakaya naman pero most of the time nag error sila. eto ang iniiwasan ni coach pag nasanay na nang fancy stuff makakasanayan ng pati yung mali maging habit.

Nung HS si rhea, yes, ang ganda ng form nya sa jump serve at may something special sa talon nya pati yung direction nang bola ang ganda pero nag error din sya dun, eto siguro yung tinuro sa kanya ni coach august na sa international competition most of the time simpleng serve lang ang gusto nila, watch some games of china and now usa puros standing serve lang, yung mga nag jump serve either star player/spikers nila o yung matagal nang ginagawa yun.

Pero sana nga ibalik ni rhea yung jump serve nya kahit paminsan minsan lang. :smoking:

Coach august daw ay sigurista ayaw nya ng puros angas yun pala kapos naman, specially on crucial moment ng laro. A good example nito ay ang Ateneo rookies ngayon season sila dzi gervacio,jem ferrer at cainglet ay mahilig dyan pero most of the time net o out ang tawag. Pwedeng gawin ang tanong magagawa ba nang tama?

rhea has to improve her back set... the running soike of ging balse is almost always too far from the net, good thing balse is able to adjust... the power on maizo's attack is often lessened because the set is kinda far from the net as well, and the ball is often at her back already (aiza), bihira na makapatong si aiza...

pag nasa harap naman kasi ni aiza iyong set, very powerful, lalo na pag down the line... wala lang, pansin ko lang...

namimiss ko na rin iyong combination play nilang double quick... hehe... lakas pumatay ni aiza pag ganun eh...
