All info about Lacoste:

I like their classic polo shirt kahit mahal

What about their accessories?

I like some of their bags and shoes. I have bought a long color block scarf in which I have received tons of compliments before.

I miss the Booster but they have a new one ( I forgot the design but I gave this as a gift before) in which it smells as fresh as the Booster.

I'm liking one of their watches. The classic Red and White canvas stripe band but I have quite a few watches already.

It is not on the edgy side of fashion but I like it that way.

Yeah. I like their recent fittings of their apparel - custom fit and Italian fit.

clawed_out
Dec 24, 2008, 05:50 AM
It is around 3400 javazcript.

But they do have items on sale from time to time. It's just a matter of good timing to get your size (they get sold out quick when they go on sale)

Hugo Boss is a little expensive than Lacoste, but yeah, mas more pang bata ang design ng Hugo Boss long sleeves than Lacoste. I never had Lacoste Long Sleeves....

I bought one before it was a suede magandang pamporma pero what's worst is yun sole nya after ilang months lang gamitan eh nagkabiyak agad and pag nadaan ka sa may tubig ay pinapasok ang loob ng sapatos.

Gusto ko sa Lacoste is their shirts and jackets!!!

oo nga not very good quality shoes.

i also have several classic and Sport lacoste polo, but yung sport e nadidiscriminaye ata although still expensive at 2.5k, dahil parang feeling ko di masyado alam ng iba kaya tingin nila fake.

That's the reason why their footwear is not recommendable. Their footwear is by far made of bad quality, even their leather shoes. Their shoes 10-15 years ago were of good quality, because made in France. I don't mean to discriminate, but their footwear these days are really terrible - the style and it's durability. Made in Indonesia, China, or Thailand na footwear nila. Better buy Adidas or Nike - cheaper and washable and your feet won't get wet once you stepped in semi-flood areas (if ever). Lascote Footwear are not washable - as if summer forever (lol)....

yeah shoes are not good.. but i kept on buying.. got 5 already, the last two are almost the same, except for the color, the ones with straps. the prob is natatanggal agad yung tahi dun sa strap, that happened dun sa last 2 shoes ko.

for polo shirts naman, i used to buy sa lacoste boutique sa royal duty free in subic, 3 years ago, around 1thou ang difference with prices in manila, like 3450 sa manila and i could get it sa subic for 2200, d pa ako lacoste member that time. right now, member na ako, addtl 10% discount for cash and 5% for card.

but now, im already here in australia, i just bought 1 kanina, sale kasi since it's boxing day today (opening of boxes/gifts, not boxing with gloves) pero i was just able to buy 1 kasi late na ako dumating, haba na ng pila sa labas. i was able to get the shirt for 80aud, orig price is 115aud.

I made an e-mail to Lacoste official website to address about their footwear issues, and they replied back and informed me that they are about to investigate the footwear supplies here in Manila. I also made a suggestion if they could supply us Made in France. If that happens, footwear will become more expensive, but at least, we'll be having a very durable Lacoste Footwear....

I love their slim fit polos. Its a tad expensive than their classic but the fit is good. The crocodile is not green but silver.

Did you notice the logo of their classic polo? Try the white lacoste polo.

Pag nagtitipid ako i buy Lacoste SPorts. mas mura.

Eto trivia: DId you know that dito nagsimula ang LACOSte shoes?

here's another pair of shoes..

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u263/jeth_bernales/Jeth670.jpg

this is the very first xhoes i bought 11 months ago at a regular price, two weeks after nag sale at kasama ito, diba ka praning!:grrr:

but much as i would like to agree that the shoes are terrible, it doesnt apply to me since this same shoes are on tip top condition until now. at ito lang yung lacoste shoes ko na nailusong ko literally sa baha for like 15 seconds pero wala pa namang nakikitang wear and tear. currently i have 6 pairs since i bought this one, at 4 lang yung ginagamit ko. the two kasi were just bought this month when podium was on sale (sadly regular price din binayran ko since new arrivals yung sneakers) kaya next year ko na lang lalaspagin :rotflmao:. in my case ang ayoko sa lacoste is pag di tali yung sneakers kasi ang daling ma loosen so tali ka ng tali. unlike pag strap on. oopps baka sabihin nyo e once a month ko lang gamitin yung mga shoes kaya hinid pa nasisira, well twice a week so that's 8x in a month. pero last november and the first two weeks of december mga 5 times ko lang di nagamit ito, the rest of the days laging sneakers. but i do agree na sana made in france na ang ibenta dito at kahit mahal, i beleive patok pa din ito.

jjeetthh
Dec 29, 2008, 08:07 AM
i reckon 25k is for lacoste footwear tapos 75k is for lacoste boutique and apparel. magkaiba kasi ang distributor nila sa pinas.. if you guys are close to subic, better buy there. kasi you can avail the discount card from lacoste for 40k accumulated receipts for a year. and lifetime membership na yun, drawback lang is, you can only use the discount card sa subic. but you can save 1 thousand compared to mall prices.
i asked them nga, what if magclose yung boutique sa subic, lahat daw ng stores mag close except lacoste, sa dami ng bumili. one time yung kasabay ko more than 20 shirts ang binili. you can even buy and sell it sa friends. markup mo lang like P500 each ok na.. here's the membership card, and it's lifetime.

this is so subjective. how do you know?just by looking? if orig naman ang Lacoste nya, kebs..

just an anecdote. i know a guy who lives in ferndale (ayala), posh QC subd. with lots of cars (4, sportscar pa isa), but ang personality di mo mahahalatang mayaman, at baka mapagkamalan mong squatter, but is actually well to do than you will ever be.

in short, it's ok to feel that way just by looking at a person BUT it should not be the rule of thumb.

White lacoste shoes are the ones usually imitated. And someone said to me before that they cannot imitate shoes with mesh designs.

And I don't think it's wise to buy a shoe from lacoste if you need an everyday shoe, it won't serve you long, worse if you commute. They are more of a weekend shoe IMO.

I got couple of colors and this one is my favorite.
http://i515.photobucket.com/albums/t360/iannedr/IMG_0124-1.jpg

Its easy to spot a fake classic pique.
The button slit should be horizontal. It is never vertical
The button itself should be mother of pearl
The croc logo is vivid
It is never a basis if the croc logo is too large or too small. The classic slim fit has smaller logo than the usual

Here's one of my shoes

gusto mo malaman anong difference eto o

1. Yung crocodile logo, halata naman diba most class A lacoste polo shirt tignan mo *** pagkakatahi ng crocodile

4. Price difference, original lacoste cost 3,400 pesos (classic polo shirt), *** mga fake na class A 500 pesos ata eh, and ang original sa mga lacoste boutique talaga nabibili not the usual greenhills 168 mall

5. Original lacoste sizes uses number such as 5,6,7 etc...hindi sila gumagamit ng S M L XL etc..

6. Orignal lacoste polo's have Devanlay tag sa loob sa bandang baba

Kung may na miss ako on how to spot the difference, please feel free to add...

Lemme add.. one of the easiest way to spot the difference (for classic ones) is on the side slits.. the authentic is a bit curve, inverted U shaped while the fake ones a usually inverted V shaped.

about the commute thing, well do since i dont have a car. at twice a week ko ginagamit yung mga sneakers ko. hindi pa naman nakikitaan ng deterioration. nasa paggamit na din siguro yun at pagaalaga..hehe

I haven't set foot within a Lacoste store in a while (years). Are there any stores with men's sizes smaller than 3? 3 was the smallest size polo available here last time I checked.

I'm probably a 2 or even 1.

@ bluesoda00

Care to share the tip and the spray? Thanks!

@ fonga, the very basic yet underestimated and unused tips (kahit hindi lacoste):

1. keep shoes to their respective boxes lalo kung hindi naman gagamitin (not everyone has shoe cabinet kasi). put plaster/tape on the holes of the boxes to prevent dirt from coming in lalo na kung tamad kang maglinis ng room.
2. shoe horns are not only meant for leather shoes. in fact, not everyone uses one. pero malaki naitutlong nito para mapanatili natin yung form nung sa bandang likod ng shoes. nasanay kasi ang pinoy na paa din ang pinangtatangal (or pag pinasok ang paa sa shoe pag natapakan yun basta na lang hihilahin pataas, which is common sa 'rubber shoes'..
3. since its not 'washable', obviously damp cloth ang gagamitin mo lalo na sa radian/mesh/leather sento designs. no to very harsh chemicals din. at never rub the cloth too hard. lalo na pag white yung sneakers mo, naku parang sugat yan, may abrasion na. hehe.. ako panglinis ko? yung 3m na microcloth, the one you use to clean laptop screen/ipod.
4. should you accidentally submerged it in water (paguwi sa bahay, ipatayo mo sya, with the heel part on the ground. tapos sapinan mo ng manila paper sa loob para iabsorb nya pati na din yung odor.
5. siguro OC lang ako pero lahat ng shoes ko, yung papel or carton na kinorteng shoes, yung nakapasok sa loob pag binili mo, i placed them back pag natapos ko ng linisin at itatago kona. it somehow helps din to maintain the contour at futher lessen yung lines.
6. and as they always say, some good things never last. so its good to invest not only in one pair. kahit ano pang brand yan, mas maganda yung papalit palit. of course, your 'everyday shoes' is an exemption...
as to the spray, pag uwi ko samin post ko dito. pero nahirapan din ako hanapin yun. luckily, i bought one at ace hardware sm makati.
pag nalinis mo na yung shoes, spray it evenly over the entire body. let it dry for 24 hours. pero siguraduhin mong malinis yung room mo ha at pag dumikit yun sa shoes mo, although matatangal naman pag pinunasan mo pero parang may spots yung shoes mo. it repels water and moisture for sometime. and mukhang brand new **** shoes. kaya nga yung laspag sakin, sabi nga ni jjeetth, parang bago pa. every 4 months pwede mo i sprayan yung shoes mo, pero ako every 3 months. just make sure tuyong tuyo sya bago mo itago o gamitin. and oh, it works very fine with lacoste leather shoes lalo na sa itim :naughty:

that's about it! happy new year and happy shopping!

since i cant afford to buy a genuine classic lacoste polo shirt ($70), i go for the next big thing: fake classic lacoste polo shirt. i asked my friend to bring me plenty from the secret fake lacoste store in greenhills. americans wouldnt know the difference!!!

and a cheaper but equally as good looking as lacoste polo shirts are those made by Ralph Lauren. RL's classic polos are as good as any Lacoste out there and men's sizes are not as expensive as their crocodile couterpart..and the kids sizes are even cheaper...i bought 5 RLs of different colors sized XL from the KIDS department, and they fit me just fine, im 5'7 155 lbs. the average pinoy built. $17 each.

depends sa nag-regalo but if i was to give someone a lacoste, ill make sure its real, nakakahiya naman if it was fake diba?

as for knowing whats a real one? im not sure but it has something to do with the buttons and the quality of the clothing. Mahahalata mo rin sa crocodile logo.

if you have an original then you can go and compare it or better yet just go into a lacoste store and have them compare it for you.

I have 2 Lacoste shirts na gifts, obviously fake (may nakasulat na Lacoste sa buttons hehe). But I still wear them anyways. They fit me well. The fake ones have the same fabric type as the stretch pique polos from Folded & Hung, comfortable & decent enough for everyday use.

Do you guys really look at and compare what people are wearing, kung fake or not? I think that's a shallow basis on judging the wearer...

It's not about judging the wearer. You wear fake - I don't care, but discussing or basically encouraging counterfeits than the genuine in this forum is a no-no. yeah but you get quality for your original shoes. Why? Because i bought a fake nike cortez before and since mahilig ako maglakad lakad, pudpod yung shoes in less than half a year while yung binili ko na original na lacoste sneakers are still alive and kicking after 2 years (barring na mas maraming ako nilalakad nowadays).

Pudpod narin yung orig shoes but at least it went the distance compared to the fake one. Although you can always say i can buy X amount of shoes with the price of the original one but then again since im a guy i dont wanna keep on buying shoes again and again

I placed an orginal and a fake side by side. Same color, same size, same feel of the shirt, same fit, same comfort. (Well, the authentic shirt was more comfortable.)

Ironically, the orginal just stays in my closet. It now feels loose and the color kinda faded. The fake, I wore it just three weeks ago. *okay*

i recently bought 4 lacoste polos.. 1 for full price $80.00, then 3 at discounted price of $60.00 at an outlet store.. i used them all only for about 2 months, being careful to machine wash at delicate, no dryer... i wanted to preserve my investments, but minalas because all 4 became disfigured! here's what happened:

2 weeks ago:
my dark blue shirt: i was eating steak, a gob of oil/grease about 2cm around fell in the chest area.. i thought, ok lang, matatanggal sa next na laba.. pero it stuck, couldn't get it out no matter what i do.. 1 down sabi ko, pero may tatlo pa ako..

then last week:
the rest of the three (green, maroon, light blue) i thought were still okay. i just washed them, but i didnt put them in the dryer for fear of shrinkage, so i just air dry them outside.. when i came to collect my precious shirts, i almost fainted with shock! there were these big patches of whitish discolorations in the armpit areas of the shirt! i tried to wash them off but the results were still the same.. wondering what happended, i remembered that i recently changed to a new Gel deodorant (gillete).. i think i applied too much to my armpits because im thinking maybe the chemicals in the deodorant somehow reacted with the dye used in the shirts.. hay naku, im so pissed off at myself.. all my other non-designer shirts and polos were fine (gap, old navy), only those damn expensive lacoste shirts were damaged by the deodorant change.. now all i have are 4 damaged lacoste shirts that i cant use dahil mukha ng pambahay.. :grrr:

anybody else have a similar experience?

So I passed by this store that had a sale of assorted shoes and the lyndon slipon red was like the perfect match for my style. It was one of the few times I was actually proud of buying shoes LOL. It was super cheap too, converted to PHP siguro below 2,500 lang bili ko dun compared to here alam ko overpriced ang lacoste.

SIGH :mecry: Anyways, looks like wala nako magagawa dun. Mukang eBay nalang pag-asa ko but when i looked at the ones on sale mukang overpriced + may shipping cost pa. :mecry:
