With 29 UAAP championship titles, the FEU WVT is highly regarded as one of the powerhouses of women's volleyball in the UAAP.

As the defending champions, the pressure is high for them to retain and hopefully get their 30th title this season.

They have a lot of adjustments to make with the lost of veteran players including MVP Semana and Abanto plus the reliable player Tolentino. Nevertheless, I'm still pretty confident that they can barge into the F4. I just wish Daquis can make the best out of her last playing year with the able support of budding leaders Morada, Gonzales and the rest of the team.

Bagging 29 titles is undoubtedly a feat though even considering this season's results. Charge Tamaraws!

I think the other teams are closely guarding the go to girls of FEU WVT, so dapat may mga alternative attackers. I think vivas and tiangco can do some serious attacks rin so sana mabigyan din sila ng mga attacks, for jose naman i think she is doing a decent job as the new setter

Game one was highly disappointing. But it was good that as early as the first game, they saw what their weak points were, which, when "treated" accordingly, would benefit them, hopefully, in the games to come.

I was wondering what happened to Morada. She wasn't performing her A-game. Her running spikes weren't coming in, and everything didn't go as I expected from her. I hope it was just one of those "bleak" days players sometimes have, and hopefully she'd bounce back real soon.

You said it, even Shaira seems to be not in the mood or something. I just hope that they indeed learn from this and perform much better on their following matches.

Jose on the other hands needs to not always go to Daquis specially against taller teams since it gets predictable. Even coach shaq of UST commented that she always go to Morada in one part of their match against UST.

I wonder if Coach Nes would put some of this season's rookies in a game or something. OMFG, There's a new Semana on the team!! OMGggggg i wonder what position she plays and is she related to Wendy?!.

Anyway, i wish the Lady Tams all the luck on the next game. ; ^ ;

You are right, nagiging predictable na nga e, for morada ganun talaga pag highly respected ka ng other teams, triple block coverage lagi ang nakadepensa sa kanya.

I knew it, bubunot si Coach Nes sa mga second stringers at merong mga promising na mga players. EULILO (?) is one, may tangkad tong batang to... sana mahasa siya at gumaling dahil pag umexit si Daquis next year kelangan ng tangkad sa team.

What a game!

I did not expect that FEU would win the game, come from behind pa!

Akala ko mga 4 sets lang to but wait, never say die ang Lady Tamaraws.

My take on the game vs DLSU

- FEU's floor defense was just amazing, though they werent able to block a lot, ang floor defense
swabeng swabe. May time ata na sobrang lakas ng spike ni Alarca but Taganas was able to
answer her attack, Taganas vs Alarca kanina. haha
kudos! Tama *** ginawa nila kanina, variations sa play kasi nga maliliit lang sila
compared to la salle.

- Dameng Errors ng DLSU, and Illa was not in her usual self, Pero ayaw naman siyang palitan ni coach ramil
-Mercado is a silent operator. Galing. Matalino parang si Gonzales, kaya sila BFFs eh. hehe

- Cabanag was a bit off today, But i think she is still reliable. While Tiangco, although a rookie, galing
mag serve ng batang to, patulis talaga at magaling mag recieve ng bola, onting training at exposure pa
gagaling to, may attacking powers din ito. hehe I want to see more of Tiangco.

- Jose is getting good at her post as a setter. Makinig lang lagi sa coach at wag magmadali

- Daquis as usual is a reliable player lalo na pag gipitan na at may confidence talaga
very wise.
- Gonzales was simply amazing.
- infainess kay morada, hindi man siya makaatake ng marami kanina kasi bantay sarado, she does defense good naman.
and btw, its nice to know na pinag seset rin pala nila si Vivas a.k.a Mumay. Bright ang future nito.

- I think the biggest factor that made FEU win this game is puso and them following instructions. They believe and they follow what the
coaching staff tells them to do. Galing ni coach ness.

Sa tingin ko, sa pinapakita ng Lady Tamaraws ngayon, makakapasok sila a semi finals and even Finals...
let's think positive....

kasi, nanalo sila sa La Salle kahit depleted na yung line-up nila...
magaling na si JOse ngayon...nagda-dive na and she was really running for the ball and make a good set...

pero, diko pa nakikita yung mga pamatay na tira ni Morada..
maybe sa 2nd round of elimination pa...

as of now, wala pa siyang nabibigyan ng FACIAL...hehehehe

Since Maica Morada is my favorite player in the FEU Volleyball team, I will defend her…hehehe…

Dun sa game nila against La Salle, hindi nga siya masyado humarurot in offense. Pero she played a superb defense. She even battle it out against Jacqueline Alarca whom we know is taller than her. Pero naba-block niya parin si Alarca. It was her and Daquis could only block the tall players of La Salle.

Sa tingin ko, she was assigned talaga on good reception of the ball. Kasi most of the time during their game against La Salle, nasa likod siya. Minsan kasi hindi makuha ni Vivas and Gonzales yung mga malalakas na palo ng La Salle. Even si Taganas, the Libero had some problems in receiving the ball especially kapag kay Alarca ang bola. We know that Daquis was also not good in ball reception. Kaya nga kapag nag-rotate at napunta na siya sa likod, nilalabas siya ni Coach Pamilar.

Most of the people would say that a DEFENSIVE TEAM always wins the game….

Kaya sa tingin ko, apart from Shaira Gonzales’ superb performance when it comes to offense. MACAILA IRISH MORADA should be given credit also for a superb performance when it comes to Defense….

Siyempre, ma-block ka talaga…

Kaya nga pag ganun, mas maganda talaga kapag sa gilid ang palo mo. Mostly the open hitters ang gumagawa nun. Kaya ShairaGonzales and Rachelle ann Daquis really contributed a lot in the game. Di pa masyado magaling yung libero ng La sale to get the ball kaya nga likod lag ang punterya ng FEU eh..

Basta, pampalubag loob ko lang to guys…dami kasi nagsasabi na ang pangit ng laro ni Maica sa La sale eh…hehehhe…

Feeling ko, pwede siya manalo ng MVP award. Lahat kasi kaya niyang gawin…kulang nalang maging setter na rin siya even for once.

im feu wvt avid fan since last year, season 70 to be exact… and because of that, parang hindi kumpleto ang pagharap sa computer each day if I will not watch the match of feu vs. dlsu last December 20, 2008.

sobrang unpredictable that feu won, kahit feu fan ako. sobrang lakas kasi ng lineup ng dlsu…

I just want to share my comment on Vivas and Jose… Vivas is so tall, a hitter din. kaso di pa ganun ka-accurate ang mga attacks niya compared to daquis, gonzalez and morada. siguro kasi bata pa or bago pa lang sa team. dapat magpractice pa siya ng husto also in blocking, para magamit ng team ng husto ang height niya.

also, bakit hindi siya i-train ng husto as a setter, kapalitan ni april jose, like cruz of dlsu, or like abanto and semana na palitan as a setter dati.

kasi napansin ko sa rotation, na pagmagserve si jose, papasok na sa frontline si vivas, at pag si vivas ang magserve, nasa frontline na si jose, so tendency, maliit ang chance na makablock, because, no offense to jose pero maliit talaga siya para magblock, at dalawa lang ang nagiging attacker.

kaya much better kung matrain ng husto as a setter is vivas, once vivas is at the back she will be the setter, palitan muna si jose sa front, pwedeng si eulilio (tama ba?) because she has the height…. tapos balik na lang ulit si jose pagnasa front na si vivas at labas na uli si eulilio (tama ba uli?)

Makikita naman sa performance di ba? Hindi naman siya ilalagay ni Coach Nes sa line up, or ipangpapalit actively kay Cabanag kung wala siyang mai ko contribute. Magandang mag receive at mag serve si tiangco, kulang na lang ng utakan factor sa atake. At hindi lang yun, iirc andaming experience rin ni Tiangco with Palarong pambansa.

Yung mga nadagdag rookie (i.e. Eulalio, Custodio, Dela Pena, Semana, Tiangco) at yung ibang mga 2nd year mukhang medyo may kailangan pang i improve pa sa performance (i.e. Sison, Penaranda) kaya hindi sila pinapasok. Pero komo't hindi sila naglalaro sa mga televised games eh ibig sabihin eh wala na silang wenta. Kulang lang siguro sa potential for now.... pero who knows di ba? baka next season or this coming resume of games may iba na palang nagstep up sa game nila. :)

I think coach ness saw something in tiangco that sets her apart from the other rookies. I see something good in her. Sana lumabas ang kanyang galing. She kinda reminds me of Venus Bernal ng UST. Like last year, si shaira ang ginamit niya and he also trained jose for setting duties. I was surprised to see jose play against UST nung 1st round of elims. SOrry lang po, I just became a fan of Vball last year when I saw daquis eh. hehe super ganda talaga, nainlove ata ako, and btw, other people might not notice a player that graduated last year, talking about Majo Cafranca, crush ko rin siya e, ang middle hitter ng FEU na smartplayer, at magaling sa mind game. hahaha I like her though other people might not share the same feeling haha.


Basta I'm still hoping for the best fr this FEU Team

About naman sa team getting rookies, syempre hindi rin naman natin alam kung ang iba sa kanila ini-scout o sila mismo ang pumunta sa FEU. So talagang in the end of the day, kung wala kang mai o offer sa team o hindi ka mag click... malamang talagang di ka ipapasok. Syempre gusto rin naman ng mga coach ng may mga pagpilian o kaya ang pag pooling nila ng rookies e paghahanda sa mga aalis sa mga susunod na season. Ika nga, nag fo forward thinking na sila.

ang maganda sa feu kapag off ang isa o dalawa either dacquis, morada and gonzalez, siguradong may isang tao ang mag li lift ng team.

pero kapag yang tatlong yan ang pumutok.. ay magtago na tayo.
we know dacquis is a crunch player.. morada is powerful and very athletic. shaira is a clever player..

hahaha! ganda ng threesome ng tatlong ito. kahit hinde straight sets Ok na yan. hehehe!

W00t~ Ang galing ng match na to. Grabe si Shaira, kapag tumalon at nag i-spike talaga.. grabe. Hopefully magpatuloy ang kanyang improvement. Medyo nagkaron lang ng konting aberya sa huli due to the insertion of some Rookies, although hindi ko naman ni lu look down ang ganitong practice on Coach Nes' part naiintindihan ko ang pakay niya.. Daquis will be gone next season at mahihirapan tiyak ang Lady Tams na i fill ang spot na yon. May promise ang mga atake ni Dela Pena(excuse the misspelling, small keyboard ang gamit ko : P ) kaso di pa naman natin alam kung pano siya mag perform dahil wala pang gaanong exposure. Si Tiangco naman i hope mahasa pa, nakaka dig siya ng maayos at nakaka receive yung atake niya lang ang kelangan ng hasa.

Maganda ang laban na sunod ng FEU... aDU. Let's see how this will go down.

Yeah. Even i have not witnessed the game in action my spirit lives there. I used to watch all FEU and UP games live since 2001 but when i left the country to Finland it ended there. I missed all of the players! Starting to Manalo, Semana, and Cafranca. Morada in 2006 started to make her name in UAAP volleyball. Rachel Daquis pamatay talaga. Napakabait sobra.

Adu could have won the game if it werent for their errors and poor setting. Hiponia is not setting the ball right kaya hindi makaatake ng maayos ang mga team mates niya, tapos ilan rin ang service errors niya, and to top it all off, hindi siya makapag dig. Halos lahat ng atake ng FEU na sa kanya napupunta hindi niya nasasagot. hayy. Soriano played like a veteran.

FEU they have to do well on blocking lalo na pag wala si Daquis sa frontline, pansin ko lang pag wala si daquis sa unahan, dun nkakahabol ang adamson. Jose is doing good at her job with 20+ excellent sets in set 3?hindi ko maalala. She needs constant reminders though coming from the coaching staff, sana maging consistent siya on setting good plays for her team mates.

Tiangco, well Wala akong masabi sa recieve mo at service, maayos siya, nakakapasok naman ang mga atake mo, un nga lang nasasagot ng kalaban, konting liksi nalang siguro sa approach at variation. Acceptable kasi rookie ka pa, but if you can step up, why not? :)

The games are covered on weekends and as a working person I and I think I speak for some others who wait for the whole week and at some point adjust our schedules just to watch the games on TV, your coverage today is something worth being mad about. Now we know better that we should just probably watch the games LIVE since we may not know what would happen to the games we're watching. That we maybe in the middle of screaming out of our guts, out of our lungs cheering mode would just be surprised that the next thing we would be watching is some trailer of a movie that we do not even care watching.

Yes there was a disclaimer by your commentators but what would that do? Do you have some live streaming back-up which we can resort to? Your channel wanted (I assume since you cover the UAAP games and I am also sure there will be other channels interested) the coverage of the games and I understand that volleyball games are unlike basketball games where the games are timed and that the airtime is a fixed number of hours but isn't it your commitment to cover the games from start to finish? What is the point of starting a game when the viewers will be left guessing the end?

The UAAP Volleyball Finals is near and if this is how Studio 23 will be covering the next games, you better suggest to higher management to pass on coverage of UAAP games next year to other channels.

Congratulations. What veteran poise! To stay in there inspite of a 0-2 deficit and not stray from the system takes a lot of discipline. Gonzales was the obvious best player. She reminds me of Semana. They both are all business and don't let the game get to their head. Mas smiling face nga lang si Gonzales. Daquis also had her moments specially in the 3rd and 4th. But he unsung hero, for me, is the setter. She was able to chase down the ball no matter how the reception is. And she mixed it up well, moving from Daquis to Gonzales and then Morada. She even made one 'nakaw' play.

the announcers/commentators are comparing FEU against DLSU during the last game of spikers..one thing they both agreed on is that FEU has the advantage of taking this season again because they had been through all sort of experience that a teamneeds to be a champion team such lossing a game, lossing key players such as Semana, Cafranca and Abanto, and etc that compromised their team as a whole while DLSU had never been into that situation na they have to compromise everything , lossing a game , lossing a straight sets or being underdog on a game. or perhaps lost key players .kaya their conclusion is that FEU has a huge advantage of winning daw..

Let's not rub the fact that FEU won more than a couple of come-from-behind games too much. Kasi we cannot always rely on these factors. And, in all due fairness to DLSU, they are getting scarier as the season is unfolding. FEU has a tendency to relax, which is not at all good. I hope that in the next BIG games, they wouldn't slack off mashado.

Anyway, it was great to see the second stringers play, kahit na natalo tayo sa 3rd set because of it. They should be given playing time talaga. Ang ganda ng height ni Eulalio, I hope that will be of use in the seasons to come. Si Dela Pena marami pang kailangan iimprove kasi she's always rattled (which is to be expected from a rookie, so no biggie to).

Ang Lady Tams mahilig magpa-kaba sa games. Akala ko hindi ako kakabahan vs NU, I was wrong.

Congrats for your 11 consecutive wins this season. Keep it up. ;)
