I won't say "underrated", "overshadowed" lang (by the Double B). Aiza Maizo already got our respect even way back season 69. And I've come to appreciate her more because of her quicks and single-blocks to Bualee in Shakey's V-League. Si Maizo lang pala ang katapat nung Thai.

if you observe more closely, aiza is very maangas when she plays. ngayon ko lang din ito napansin. she is no morada, cafranca, segodine, rocess or tabaquero pagdating sa asaran, pero tignan niyo 'yung body language niya kapag nakaka-score siya, medyo may pangiirap.

but she has to do more. she has to be more vocal and egg on her teammates to do better.

i still have a lot of faith in the team, and that goes with saying that i still have a lot of faith in aiza.

Along with Denise Tan, Maizo is the most important veteran player in the UST squad.

I'm hoping to see her lead the team every game. She should always show consistency and a never say die attitude every game so she can inspire her teammates, which most of them are rookies, to give their best in their remaining games this season.

I really love seeing her hitting those hard spikes. Nakakamiss since nawala si Balse and Bernal. Pag pumapalo sya ng malakas naalala ko yung Double B.

the absence of tabaquero is the hardest to fill for me... although bernal and balse are almost irreplaceable, ortiz is coming into her own and co is proving consistent... what sets angge kasi from balse and bernal is her net defense, which ust surely needs!!! mautak din kasi si angge, and because of her amazing form in spiking (again, i think she has the best form in uaap), it's quite hard to tell if she's going to spike it or just dink it...

Contrary to what others say, I actually think that Maizo has an aura that can uplift the morale of others. 'Pag nakikita ko 'yung reaction niya after drilling a point, parang kahit ako gustong pumalo ng bola. :lol:

On the other hand, Bernice Co has the composure of Balse.

Balse is like a combination of Maizo and Co. Composed, pero may halong GIGIL- which is very infectious.

I remember Denise say before na kapag nakikita na nilang humahataw si Balse (with the drama and all), pati sila nahahawa na. That's the quality I can see in Maizo- hindi pa nga lang fullblown, pero meron.

I believe she is really a volleyball talent.

She's just not hyped too much, but she's one of the few players in UAAP who has a natural talent for volleyball...and can just get better.

I remember during their first encounter against FEU where she carried the whole team, she was spiking from all sides, and eventually won it.

Good Luck, I'm a nobody's fan, but I am just impressed.

this lady is amazing, she really step up after balse, bernal and tabaquero leave the team, at first she is quite silent but this second round, shes an all around player. PSEP according to their analysis shes way better than daquis or Alarca for the run for MVP, she really does great job.
About being maangas, i do think kaya napapasin nila siguro is because she is pressured by the responsiblity being given to her, i mean its quite a big challenge and bawat puntos na maibigay nya sa team is worth the hardwork

Yeah! She can deliver! During yesterday's game, most of the time she was checked by Ateneo defense. From the side going to the middle hits, she was caught by Ateneo blockers. But she didn't give up and managed to score 22 big points for UST. She is undoubtedly the most reliable player of UST today. Her spikes are really strong and most of them are successful hits. I hope she gets better along the way. The first time i saw her during season 69, i know this girl can step up really big. She was the one who goes for the block together with Balse. She loves to do the back set plays. I know she is the one that coach August is referring to be the big surprise in season 71 with the departure of UST's Prime players Balse and Bernal. She may not be a leader to her team mates but she's getting there. Coz i know her team mates are now trusting her, especially during the time when a point matter most, Aiza Maizo will be there to score a point for UST!!!

Good job MAIZO!!!

Keep it up, UST is almost there. Seal that Final Four slot!

Aiza just proved to us na kaya nyang dalhin ang Team UST kahit maraming nagsasabi na mahina na ang UST WVT dahil wala na ang double B at Tabaquero. Aiza Maizo, evidently showed us na their presence is still on the court even they're no longer playing for UST.

She has the power to hit, pose a great block, can dig hard spikes, can set the ball effectively and can inspire the team whenever a point seems hard to earn.

UST is definitely back on UAAP Volleyball Season 71 because we have AIZA MAIZO !!!

hay! talo! bad trip! it was not a good game! sobrang luwag ng defense ng team! For me, ang *****-***** ng coach! Sa simula't simula pa lang since nagpalit siya ng libero- he could have chosen the best one pero hindi, he chose the lousiest instead. she was really guarded that game, i commend her for really scoring a lot, i think only Ortiz and Co were performing great, others like Caballejo and Del Rosario are off and really inconsistent, but i do think Caballejo is a Bernal in the making. I remember when Bernal was the rookie, mahahaba talaga mga spikes and mostly outside, naiinis pa nga ako bakit palagi kay bernal binibigay eh palagi naman outside, but look at her now, one of the most notable player in the country, i do think caballejo will be really good on the next years just give her a break, as for del rosario, kailangan nyang magpapayat coz its not necessary to dive and dive kung wala ka naman nadidig na bola

Si caballejo nagpatalo sa laban ng uste... Naka2awa c maizo kac wasted effort lahat ng ginawa nya laban sa feu.

I believe si Del Rosario hindi si Caballejo nagpatalo sa USTe kahapon. Tumbling lang ng tumbling hindi nga makareceive, at kamuntikan na niyang nireceive ang outside spike ni morada, buti naman nasabihan siya sa teammates niya. Ok lang si Caballejo sa akin kasi napagsasabihan naman. And good point naman si Dreftmen sobrang power yung mga tira niya kaya nwawala sa direction, kulang lang sa practice and consistency, may pagkaemotional rin kasi siya, I hope she will really improve kasi sobrang may potential. Unfortunately kay Del Rosario, parang hopeless na talaga kahit maging malnourish na yan di pa rin talaga yan makakadig o receive ng maayos kasi ang arte-arte. Naawa ako kay Capt. Maizo at kay Co talaga at sa lahat ng nag-effort sa game. Sayang mga digs and receive nila na dapat trabaho yun ng libero... Pero bilib na bilib pa rin ako nitong si Capt. nadala niya ang rookie UST team sa ganitong level. Considering the losses and the pressure sa part niya. May puso talagang manalo.

aiza still managed to score double digits eventhough the lady tams prepared for her and guarded her heavily. co and ortiz may have helped pero wasn't enough, sayang....obviously, the supporters may be cursing caballejo and del rosario for their numerous errors. i did until i've gotten over their loss na rin...fielding in jec-jec on that crucial stage, coach shaq may have been thinking of that problem in coverage. sadly, she inadvertently had to make that same mistake...
siguro, it's not yet the time...para rin may lesson na matutunan ang team, especially the rookies...hey, may next season pa! nandyan pa rin si maizo....

actually ang rules ata ng uaap kasi sa champion team mamimili ng mvp, kumbaga dapat ang mvp player ng champion team. Kaya for me, sayang talaga for Capt. Maizo. Siya pa naman ang sobrang deserving maging MVP. She played so well, 100% talaga binibigay niya every game, kahit gaano kahigpit bantay niya, still makakascore pa din ng double digits at makakablock din. Hay, too bad for Capt. I really wish may matanggap siyang award man lang best scorer or best blocker. She got to be recognized for her hard work. She helped the coaches to bring their team back and unexpectedly makakaabot pa sa 2nd runner-up. Silent and humble leader, who has a big heart for her team, none other than Capt. Aiza Maizo. For MVP.

I don't think they would base the no. of scores until the last game (best of 3 finals) of the two competing teams for the championship because it would be very unfair for the remaining teams who no longer have games. It's either they tallied the final score after the elimination or during the post final 4 games, hindi lang ako sure when they had to stop and compute for the total score to determine the best scorer of the league.
