help! 2005 crv

I saw an ad for a 2nd(?) hand 2005 model crv for 290k. i know it's on the cheap side but i'm thinking that this could be a very nice bargain this coming holiday as a xmas gift for myself. hehe, i just don't know if i am spending my money right for the ff. reasons.

1. i DONT know how to drive (i'll have my brother or father to pretty much enjoy my OWN car)

2. i DONT know anything about cars eg. model type, diesel/gas, automatic/manual

3. i am NOT sure if the car is worth buying

so, i'm asking you guys what do i need to look for or check when i visit the owners place this sat. hehe, help please... tnx :)

straw, check if its assume balance, coz its really like hitting a pot of gold, that might be a catch or you missed the assume balance part of the ad
