I've just been wondering about what places in the world Filipinos would want to live in. I've chosen the US and Europe to be your options for now. Go for it!

peace!

EUROPE!!! definitely EUROPE!

i'm an art lover kse...and most of the time, classic. i love to visit the galleries in Rome, to see the ruins of Athens, roam the romantic city of Paris, stay in a week or two in London where the Beatles' grew up (love them), tsaka yung architectural sites ng Milan gusto makita...*sigh*...and i'm planning to spend the rest of my life in the quiet suburbs of Florence =)

I'd like to try living in both. US for the business opportunities and EUROPE for the unique cultural experience.

The US is too overrated and too restricted while in Europe you can do whatever you want and they're not as uptight and puritanical as Americans... :D

If you ever consider going to Amsterdam go during the birthday of their Royalty... Fiesta atmosphere doon... Try visiting the coffee shop there. :smokin: The stuff they serve would surprise you.

I really prefer Europe than US. Thats where i want to work sana. I like the architectures, their fascination for art stuff, music, etc.. and their geography is great :) Magkakatabi lang sila.

Definitely Europe! I wanna live in Paris, Barcelona, or Florence. IMO, cities in Europe have a certain charm and character that US cities sorely lack. I think that if you've seen one US city, you've seen them all. There's just so much art and culture in Europe and that makes it one of the most interesting places to live in. And most importantly, the pace of life in Europe is definitely less frantic than in the US. As a Spanish acquaintance of mine once said, "Americans live to work, Europeans work to live."

*And besides, Europe is more lenient than US.
*If you love learning different languages, Europe is the place to be.

I would rather live in the U.S.. enough of my money is getting sucked up by America's IRS. I don't need another 20% taken away if I lived in France or whever else.

Heh, no contest.

I realized how boring it was to live in the U.S. only when I went back there and compared it to life in Europe and Asia. Don't even need to think about it. Europe has something for everyone - cultural diversity, the edgiest pop culture, fashion, shopping, ancient history and art museums, the old and new...Think of going to Ibiza with your honey, spend a week in London, go clubbing..then going to appreciate art galleries in Amsterdam and viewing the ruins in Rome...and you don't even need a wad of cash, heard of those people who backpack across the continent? The U.S. isn't what it's hyped up to be by a long shot, except for New York (which I love)..and their suburbs must be the dullest place on earth. My cousins there are so ignorant of the rest of the world and what it has to offer...

Who cares about cultural diversity if I'm gonna die from loneliness? Most of my loved ones are in the US, I'll choose the latter.

True. Just wish most of my destitute relatives are living in the US or in the EU. Would make my life easier.

I'd love to go back to Europe. All the historical context's there. My some of roots are from there.

And if you've seen Europe first before the US, parang walang thrill na talaga sayo ang US. And it's sooo true!!! Shopping lang ang ok sa US.

I would definitely live in the US. I've been to Europe several times. I love to visit or going on vacation but not living there. There are several reasons. To mention a few:

One is the economic stability of the US. Being the most powerful nation in the whole world and the only First world country left(Japan and the Former Russia was dropped from their status a long time ago), I would not give up the opportunity to live here and get a stable job, give my children a better growing environment and education. My retirement would be safe too.

Second is its great respect for the law. US is the only country in the world that doesn't give any special treatment to rich people when they break the law. They do a great job implementing the law of the land. Everyone is treated equally.

Thirdly, their implementation of "zero tolerance" on any sort of discrimination. I greatly admire the US for this. Europe still has a very bad practice of Discrimination until now. They still have some night clubs and bars that only white people can go in(I was stopped in Germany and Amsterdam, presumptous as I was- I walked-in but got stopped by the bouncer)because only white can go in. How ridiculous is that?! I thought that it's non-existent but it still does in Europe.A friend of mine in Belgium was not accepted for his job in a cellphone company even with his extraordinary record simply because he is Asian. Black people are treated really bad in Europe. Just the fact that their governments still tolerate that, it goes to show how close-minded and backward the society is.

You might not see centuries-old ports, cathedrals, castles, or thousand old forts and watchtowers as you see in the entire Europe, but compared to Europe, US was said to be the "New World" when people took refuge from religious persecution happening in Europe some 400-500 years ago. You can see centuries-old mansions preserved and vast lands and virgin forests, numerous metropolitan cities, etc. The entire continent of United States is bigger than the entire Europe put together and yet the country has maintained its order. With almost every nationality and religion represented or living in the US, it is considered the most diverse nation in the whole world and yet living together in great harmony. Where could you possibly see any other nation like that?

I can go on for at least 20 reasons- but that would be too lengthy. Anyway, I'll settle for four today.
Ciao, Guys!

EUROPE all the way!!! All of my favorite countries are there, especially Spain!!! I'm really into history and culture, that's why I even prefer to go to some Latin American countries rather than the US.

Indeed!
