Maiimpress ka kapag nakita mo itong maglaro. This girl leaps high and has hang time. In terms of defense, she makes digging look easy. In their game against Adamson, she was receiving Bautista and Benting's spikes as if they were not that hard kills but in fact they were. She makes digging and receiving look easy. I think the reason why she is being compared to Kesinee even when she was still in high school, is probably because she can change the direction of her spikes because of her hang time. In the same manner, she is more of a smart than a hard hitter. Although lately, she's been developing hard hits but I have yet to see her drop and cross-court shots. Her down-the-line spikes are one of the best in the tournament.

I'll post pictures of her later. Yes, she has a sister who plays for the UP Women's Basketball Team named Fille Saint Claudine. This Lady Spiker from Ateneo meanwhile is named Fille Saint Merced.

imagine how good she will be a few years from now. and look at ferrer, that girl is the future. i think she's even better than bello and she's just a freshman.


pero kasi i'm afraid that cainglet will have a game that is similar to taganas, nung una spectacular si taganas pero nung tumagal sobrang subpar na lahat ng games niya and she was not able to meet the people's expectations of her.

the atenean volleyball team is good in recruiting, pero ang problema kasi is they have a problem with the development of those skills (similar to UST lately, and unlike schools which have stellar programs ever since such as la salle and feu, and as of late, adamson)


i just hope that the ateneo squad will be able to develop the skills of their great new recruits cainglet and ferrer. (ho's good in blocking and gervacio has some moments of brilliance) but cainglet and ferrer are on a league of their own

^It's all part of the learning process. It's not good of course that they lost the game but what's good is that the young Ateneo team can learn something from Adamson a while ago; and that is to be patient. :)

^The Kulasa Girls Dzi Gervacio and Fille Cainglet amazed me. Dzi Gervacio is definitely the team's most powerful attacker while Fille Cainglet, compared to last V-League conference, added power to her game. I mean, in V-League she was known more of a smart player than a hard hitter. Fille has to work on her cross-court shots cause it was well-read by Gata a while ago, and she has to learn how to drop from time to time. Dzi Gervacio has the same problem din. She rarely drops lang din but her crosscourt spikes are amazing, pwede mo na macompare kela Steph Mercado, Angela Benting, etc. I have yet to see her down the line spikes though.

The Kulasa Girls are not just the team's best hitters but they are the best receivers of the team as well. Nachechek nila ng mabuti si Benting. Haha. Although Rookies pa talaga sila. More on power sila and wala pa masyadong gulang or smarts except for their setter Ferrer.

Hindi naman ibig sabihin laughing at your errors eh di ka na seryoso. Kesa naman magiging suLky ka (reminds me of one adamson pLayer who Loves doing this) mas pangit yun, LaLo na kapag caught on cam.

May mga taong seryoso but showing their comic side during games. Mas nakaka relax ang attitude na ganon not just to yourseLf but to your teammates as weLL. In the game between the Ateneo de Manila Lady Spikers and the University of the East Redskirts which was played last February 15, 2009, Fille Cainglet was tracking down a wayward ball that was headed into the ringside section.

Running at full speed, Fille Cainglet plowed right into the arms of Ateneo's physical therapist Raymond. Cainglet's momentum brought down both player and coaching staff member unto the floor, reminiscent of a smackdown just like in professional wrestling.

The good-sized Sunday crowd at the Arena loved it and went wild upon seeing the whole sequence.

From that moment on in the game , Fille Cainglet became the darling of the crowd. The fans would shriek with delight everytime she would touch the ball whether during a serve, a dig or a spike. They would also repeatedly chant her name.

Unfortunately, I was not able to photograph that event. So I am posting here another picture of Fille Cainglet which was taken during one of the games in the recent Shakey's V-League.

So for all you fans of the ever-smiling Ms. Fille Cainglet, let me share with all of you one of the happiest pictures I've ever taken.
