I am currently going into the thought of setting up a business selling Anime VCDs and probably Manga comics from Japan. Any thoughts on whether this would catch up here in Manila?
suggestions please... :)

Oh, you mean sell imported bottleg and illegal mechandises from taiwan?
But in my opinion the demand might be there, you would have to cater to a niche market though. Ofcourse everyone knows where you have to set up a shop at - virramall. Our center for bootleg and illegal merchandises in the Philippines..

Oh yeah! That would really catch up! Trust me! There are a lot of Anime fans here! And (although I'm not a hardcore Anime fan) I'm one!
By the way, you wouldn't happened to have Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (kaze no tani no Naushika) by Hayao Miyazaki VCD or VHS tape would you?
Da goon was here. :goon:

If and if she means that she is selling licensed merchandise, are you willing to pay up to P 800 bucks for a comic book and P 2000 for a videocd?

Hmmm.... Well, since I can't find Nausicaa anywhere. Why not? I mean I do know a few people who ACTUALLY go to Japan just to buy a manga. Don't ask... I know it's weird but it's true.

First off...Life Bunny is a guy...
Also, I was thinking more of bootleg VCDs for the videos and mangas ordered from both the US and japan...catering to both english trnaslated mangas and original language types...

P2K for a VCD? No way. DVD yes, VCD no.
Anime DVDs in the US cost around P1200-1500 at P50:$1. I bought Macross Plus, Ghost In the Shell, and Princess Mononoke there.

Its been more than a year since the last post......
OK.. If you are gonna set-up an anime store eh sa palagay ko your prices must be competetive enough. Lalu na at sangkaterba na ang anime shops dito sa manila.
In Greenhills alone youve got at least 5 of them... ...all selling VCDs, DVDs, model kits, action figures, mangas, cards and whatever anime related stuff. Of-course thats a mix of pirated and original stuff.
On-line naman there is already about 3.
Independent (one man anime salesman) there are a lot!!!! ":)_
Good luck and sabihin mo na lang sa amin king mag-open ka na. since its been more than a year eh nakapag-open ka na ba? ":)_
