Martin Reyes was part of the 2005 Champion team that beat the UPIS (who, btw upset AHS in the F4). Other notable UAAP stars who were part of that team were Simon Atkins, Joshua Webb, Jeric Fortuna (?) Migs de Asis and Dan Salvador.

From what I heard, although Martin and Migs want to play for DLSU they also do not want to sit out their rookie season (2006) that's why they went to UP. 2006 was the year when DLSU was suspended.

Again, this is what I heard. I'm just not sure if this is true.

well, i think martin (and company) did a wise decision playing for the maroons... in his 3 yrs of stay in UP, he's given naman enough time to execute his talent especially in 3pt shooting...

Martin Reyes is, definitely, this season's BEST three-point shooter. :)

hello po, i'm really a big fan of martin reyes.. i think i'd rather be suspected as riki than ben... :) but i am NOT riki, how i wish i am her, di ba?

Martin will be UP's main man and, probably, the best shooting guard in the UAAP next year so i would not be surprise if ever he becomes part of the Mythical Five for Season 72. :)

seriously, Reyes is way ahead of Bautista in terms of statistics but the problem with Bautista is that while the Reyes is purely operating on the 2/3, Bautista needs to do chores on 1-spot (most especially starting next year when he needs to be the alternate to Fortuna at the point guard position given the graduation of Cuan this season), therefore limiting his capacity to fire perimeter shots as he will be more often pre-occupied with play-making chores. ;)

the veteran Reyes will continue to operate as a pure shooter. with the graduation of Tiu, Casio and Fernandez, Reyes is destined to become the best off-guard in the league (this year, Reyes is the best three-point shooter in the UAAP and is the fourth best off-guard in the league after, again, Casio, Tiu and Fernandez). all that Reyes will need are good screens coming from his teammates, which is the reason why UP needs to strengthen the 1-spot and all front-line positions.

i saw his baby pic last weekend dun sa mga featured baby pic ng UAAP players (together with Marc Agustin of AdU and Paul Zamar of UE)... nakakatuwa :) ganun na talaga ang face nya ever since... especially his chinky eyes... :)

i am so glad with the predictions that PEXers are giving about Martin... it's overwhelming that people are appreciating him and the efforts that he's giving to the Fighting Maroons team... there's no doubt that he'll "shine" next season and i won't be surprise if he'll really be awarded as the Most Improved Player and be one of the Mythical Five.... :)

Thank you Martin for being one of those players who are giving honor to the university... WE are very proud of you and the team... good luck next season!

here's the good news:

Our very own Fighting Maroon, Martin Reyes is choosen to be part of the 25-players team that will be trained for the future RP basketball team that will join international tournaments. they are set to train in Serbia and US next year as part of the extensive program for them.

Congratulations Martin! You really deserve it. Keep up the good work and continue inspiring so many people.

^ Martin, along with the rest of the UP men's basketball team, will be playing at the 2009 Filoil-Flying V Pre-Season Manuel V. Pangilinan Cup this summer. in fact, the Maroons will be playing against the JRU Heavy Bombers on opening day of the Filoil-Flying V Cup next Saturday. :)
