Minsan lang ginawa ng Ateneo pikon na. DLSU has been doing it for years. Just like in basketball, kung kaya mo magbigay dapat kaya mo rin tumanggap.

Going back to Ateneo's drumline last Saturday, well it was good but your previous drumlines were better. Also, yung drumline niyo last Saturday was somewhat a bit out of synch tapos sobra yung pag bounce ng drum beats sa walls ng Araneta kaya lalong gumulo.

To other Lasallians here, hayaan niyo na yung ginawa ng BBB last Saturday. Let's leave it as it is, bawi na lang tayo by the time na tayo naman ang mananalo! :D

Honestly, the rivalry won't be this exciting if there will be no things like that. Buti nga hanggang dun na lang unlike before na may bugbugan at siraan ng cars.

I just hope that the ARCHER STANCE won't be banned anymore though i must admit that the other schools are so pissed and 'pikon' whenever we do that that's why they asked the UAAP board to ban that stance. :)

The La Salle jacket incident came first. The apology letter from the BBB was even published in TLS back then. And i think i was the one who scanned that article here in pex or in apcom nung nag labas ng retro issue ang TLS last 2005 or 2004. :)

Hahahaha, I honestly think the BBB couldn't care less what the other squads think. They love being called "mayabang." They relish the fact that they stand alone. What they care about is their own crowd, not the crowd and/or the squads of the other schools.

Btw, NU played Ateneo's beats, but the BBB chose not to return the favor. This was the instruction of their program head. Off topic, the BBB started that "tradition" of playing the beats of the other schools, together with the UST YJ. Back in 2005, the captain of the BBBand had his team play the Go Uste beat of the UST YJ, since he was friends with most of them. Thus started the tradition of "courtesy beats" as we know it.

Also, the captain of the BBBand in 2005 and 2006 is now their coach, and he has maintained friendship with some of the YJ alumni.

My brother was a drummer for Babble when he was n high school, and I swear, I never appreciated the hard work they pulled in before that! Kaya nga kahit medyo maangas yung Babble sa tambayang bench nila sa school, okay lang kasi at crunchtime during games, they do their job: GET THE CROWD UP AND CHEERING.

My suggestion is for him to go to gameface, click the hoopedia forum, then read the cheers and drumbeats thread from page 1. Again, start from page 1 so that you can learn something new.

My personal opinion of the BBB doesn't reduce the fact that they could be the better if not the best UAAP Drummers...(which I clearly stated in the last sentence of my post ["but it doesn't mean they can't hit a drum well"]). So skills wise...fine I would most likely give them that they could be a good drumline team. My opinion (subjective) does not in any way detract the fact (objective) that they are good and I acknowledge their skill in well...drumming.

tl;dr : I don't like them but I know they are good (if not the best) in terms of doing what they're supposed to be doing (cheering/drumming/whatever they do).
So please don't ever pose the the challenge of having me do what they do just to change my tune. It's not going to happen coz I don't like them (which is my personal opinion and won't change any time soon) -> why the hell would I try-out for something I don't even like in the first place?

I was comparing the sound of their drums to tin cans, because it seems that all you care about is how loud the drums are, not how they should actually sound like.

Aanhin mo ang lakas ng tunog kung tunog lata naman? And "tunog lata" does not necessarily mean that it literally sounds like a tin can. The point is, it doesn't sound good no matter how loud.

I was comparing the sound of their drums to tin cans, because it seems that all you care about is how loud the drums are, not how they should actually sound like.

Aanhin mo ang lakas ng tunog kung tunog lata naman? And "tunog lata" does not necessarily mean that it literally sounds like a tin can. The point is, it doesn't sound good no matter how loud.

And if you were offended by me calling you cheap, THEN DON'T COPY OUR BEATS AND CHEERS! Hindi ako nakikipagsosyalan dito. I'm just stating a fact that IMITATION IS CHEAP! Walang magsasabi sa inyo na cheap kayo kung original yung mga ginagawa niyo.

The thing is, parang ang titigas pa ng mukha ninyo. Kayo na nga ang nanggagaya kayo pa ang galit! Parang wala man lang feeling of remorse. Our squads, past to present, worked hard for those beats and cheers. Mayabang na ba agad kapag sinabi naming original kami? I think we have every right to say that.

It's so unfair for the Ateneo to be bashed in this thread based on one event wherein they did not feel the need to prove themselves to others. Ateneo has always exchanged beating with other schools especially UST. They didn't need to prove themselves to those bunch of "newbies" in drumming. :)


1. I think Adamson was known for its "drummers" because of the past season (69 or 70 ?) when they cheered the cheers of the 4 schools left in the F4 during their halftime. 'Yun pa nga yung nag-cheer sila ng GO ATENEO!

Now they are doing a good job but still needs a lot of improvement to catch up with established ones like the Blue Babble Band with its Drumline.


Na-observe ko sa past two UAAP Seasons, at kasama na rin ito

Season 69: Sobrang lakas pumalo ng Ateneo! Nayayanig pati yung Big Dome! Walang masabi mga pirata :D

Season 70: Naging moderate. Dumagdag kasi 'yung angas effect plus antics. Wala pa rin masabi mga pirata :>

Season 71: Moderate pa rin, pero maraming bago at SUPER sa antics! Very traditional again but not with the drumline. Tapos nag-usbungan 'yung mga inggit.. nanggaya, namirata..nagyabang na. Wala na raw BEATS ang Ateneo, nakiki-ride pa sa ibang tumitira sa Ateneo.

Objectively speaking, for me Ateneo has the best drumline then UST.. Hindi lang naman sa palakasan ng palo 'yan 'diba? :bashful: (Iba't ibang beats and rhythm; yung bilis at bagal; include the snares and everything)




Kahit daw namirata, iba pa rin ang drumbeats, kaya hindi sila namirata. Nice conclusion. Kung ipagmamalaki mo 'yung drummers ng school mo, HUWAG ka mahiyang aminin kung saan ninyo pinirata at ginaya hindi lang mga cheers pati na rin drumbeats! I'm more excited sa halftime ng Ateneo vs UE than on the game itself now.

Hindi naman talaga yun ang basehan. meron kasing mga tao ditong nangaakusa na ginagaya daw ang kanilang mga beats. kaya lang na point out yun kasi marami na ngang beats yung squad na inaakusahan nila mangbibintang pang nangongopya. yan ang hirap masayadong lumaki ang ulo ng mga taong to feeling nila sila na ang pinakamagaling.

GET THAT BALL!" then tutuloy *** cheer with the drums. alam ko kasi ganun talaga un. medyo nawawala lang *** 'OH' pag nagtransition from 'fight' to 'get that ball'. pero pag nagsimula kami with the get that ball cheer, malakas at malinaw *** 'OH'.

the most memorable half time for me was c/o adamson pep squad last season. the game was adu vs ust followed by a dlsu admu game.

for their half time, the adamson pep squad performed the "go ateneo!" cheer in the middle of the court. immediately, the dlsu crowd started booing them like crazy. after the ateneo cheer, the adamson pep squad started to do "the D-L-S-U! Animo La Salle!" cheer. then they went on to do "GO USTE!" and UP's Unibersidad cheer. everyone in the crowd applauded the adamson pep for their halftime performance.

talk about showing sportsmanship through cheering other other schools, ei? i hope we see more of these. XD

Though I sense a feeling of being disowned, I would give this one to the BBB drummers. Maybe it's the way their snares and basses are tuned and as well as the way they "pound". Kudos, keep it up.

As for ovo YJ's, their peak is from 2005-2006, no question about it. 2007-2008: I do not know, maybe it's just me for I think their "drumming prowess" has declined a bit. The angas factor is still there though. I would rate them as 2nd best.
