help! problem with installing netbeans...

I've been trying to install netbeans for the past few days pero palaging nagshushutdown PC ko. I already have jdk installed, pero everytime yung netbeans na yung iinstall ko, nagshushutdown PC ko. Sabi ng iba baka mababa system specs ko, pero di naman. 176GB pa free space sa drive C eh. What could I be doing wrong? Can someone help, please? Thanks!

Which version of netbeans are you using? What version of windows are you using? Which JRE version do you have ("java -version" on DOS)?

netbeans 6.1, windows XP... how do you check the JRE version?

That's weird, I've installed Netbeans 6.1 myself and I haven't encountered such problems. What jdk version did you install? Have you tried re-downloading netbeans and the jdk?

Try to downgrade the jdk/jre version.
