Final 4 Analysis: Who will fight against who??

Final 4 berth is almost complete. Now there are 3 games remaining as the elimination round ends. These games are JRU vs MIT, CSJL vs PCU and CSJL vs SBC.

SITUATION 1: If ever JRU wins over MIT they will stay at number 2 position and MIT at number 5.

SITUATION 2: If MIT wins over JRU. There will be a triple tie in the team standings at 9-5 win loss record. These teams are JRU and SSCR and MIT.

(Doesn’t matter if MIT wins against JRU by 1pt. Coz even if MIT lost in the POINT SYSTEM against JRU. JRU never won a game against SSCR. While MIT had succeed in the POINT SYSTEM RULE against SSCR (MIT 86- SSCR 80) 1st round (MIT 62- SSCR 64) 2nd round.

Now the game between PCU and CSJL.

Situation 3: If CSJL wins over PCU, the knights will step up the ladder and stay at number 3 spot if SITUATION 1 occurs. But if SITUATION 2 happens CSJL will go up at number 2 position.

Situation 4: If PCU wins, CSJL will momentarily go down and wait for their last game at number 5 spot.
WHY??
Because CSJL won their game against MIT by 6pts while MIT won over CSJL by 17pts meaning in the POINT SYSTEM RULE a team with the higher point advantage in a game will step up over the team with the lower point advantage.

Now the game between SBC and CSJL. If SITUATION’S 2 and 3 occurs and CSJL wins against SBC then the knights will go up and take number 2 spot. But if SBC beats CSJL and SITUATION’S 2 and 3 occurs then there will be a 4 way tie. CSJL, MIT, SSCR and JRU. The only way to break this is by POINT SYSTEM RULE.

sabi nila kapag natalo daw ang Letran sa SBC, magkakaron daw ng KO game para sa 2nd(twice to beat) at 4th spot so ganito ata ang mangyayari.

Baste-Mapua - Battle for 2nd
JRU-Letran - Battle for 4th

D lang ako sigurado. Oh mas mataas parin ba ang quotient ng JRU kesa sa Mapua? :D

Ah i see..

So just in case matalo ang Letran..

Win-Loss Table

San Sebastian 4-2
Mapúa 3-3 (+10 vs LC)
Letran 3-3 (-10 vs MIT)
JRU 2-4

MIT vs SSCR for twice to beat advantage
JRU vs Letran for 4th spot.

Kung manalo LC:
LC vs. SBC for #1
SSC is #3
Mapua vs. JRU for #4.

Kung manalo SBC:
SBC is #1
MIT vs. SSC for #2
LC vs. JRU for #4

Whatever happens:

from inboundpass.com:

The NCAA Management Committee, meanwhile, declared that teams with the same records will knock each other out through a one-off playoff game, while the quotient system will only be employed to determine seedings.

Ang laking pinsala ng pagkakatambak ng Letran sa Mapua nung 2nd round. Yan tuloy mas naangatan pa sila ng Baste sa quotient. *okay*

diba JAMPACKED dapat? Hahahaha! Peace! anyway, super ganda talaga nitong season na to... i just hope that whatever the decision will be, it would be done cleanly... as in walang dayaan or pulitikang maganap. and of course, i still hope we end up havin a twice-to-beat advantage, hehe!

GO BASTE!

^- Obviously, hindi mo naintindihan yung post ko. Nakakalito nga kasi pwedeng intindihin the other way. Haha! Sige eto ulit. "Ang laking pinsala ang nadulot sa Letran dahil natambakan sila ng Mapua nung 2nd round." Yan tuloy, kapag natalo ang Letran sa SBC, talo pa sila sa quotient, sayang yung 1st round nila. 7-1 pa naman. :bop:

Top 5 brace for berth in NC Final 4

The 84th NCAA basketball tournament is headed for a wild and wooly finish.

Whatever happens in the San Beda-Letran showdown on Wednesday, at least three playoff games are needed to settle seedings in the Final Four.

A San Beda victory would mean the Lions automatically gain top seeding and the Knights are relegated into a four-way tie at second place with the Jose Rizal Bombers, San Sebastian Stags and Mapua Cardinals – all with 9-5 win-loss records.

To break the tie, the team with the highest quotient takes on the squad with the worst while No. 2 and No. 3 clash the first of two classification playoffs.

The winners battle for the No. 2 seeding while the losers slug it out in a do-or-die battle for the No. 4 seeding in the semifinals.
A Letran victory, on the other hand, would force a tie between the Knights and the Lions at No. 1 and a three-way logjam among the Bombers, the Stags and the Cardinals at No. 3.

In this scenario, both Letran and San Beda would be assured of the twice-to-beat incentive but they would still settle the No. 1 spot in a playoff.

The last two spots would be contested by San Sebastian, Jose Rizal and Mapua in a series of playoffs.
