The DLSU-Manila chemical engineering team won FIRST PLACE in the team category of the Inter-University Chemical Engineering Quiz Contest held at the Adamson University last January 17, 2001.
The three-man DLSU-Manila team—composed of Richard Abalos, Raymond del Rosario, and Dennis Yu—bested participating teams from the University of Sto. Thomas, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Technological Institute of the Philippines-Manila, and the University of the Philippines Diliman.
In addition, La Sallians Abalos and Del Rosario won the first place and second place, respectively, in the individual category during the same quiz contest.
The event was sponsored by the Adamson University Chemical Engineering Students Society.
This win by DLSU-Manila in the Chemical Engineering Quiz confirms CHED's award to DLSU-Manila's Chemical Engineering program as the SOLE Center of Excellence (COE) in Chemical Engineering in the country.
