IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

Your transactions dated August 16 - 18, 2008


This is to inform you that your peso transactions that were swiped on BDO credit card terminals from August 16 to 18, 2008 were erroneously transmitted by BDO to our office in US dollar currency. A purchase transaction of P1,000 swiped on a BDO terminal, for example, was posted on your card as a US$1,000 purchase (approximately P45,000). This was an error that affected all MasterCard cards (e.g. BPI, Citibank, HSBC) with transactions that were swiped on BDO terminals on the dates mentioned.

Note that corrections were posted on Aug 20, 2008 based on a reversal file sent by BDO. Additional adjustments were made on Aug 21, 2008 to further correct the difference brought about by foreign exchange rate movements....

haha lahat ng credit card companies ata naapektuhan nyan..even my hsbc and citibank cards...good thing hsbc csrs was aware of that..dunno *** citibank csrs

ay oo. last weekend nangyari to right? naloka ang officemate ko, 100,000 ang na-reflect na charge sa card nya.

ang dami ring ibang tao sa office na naapektuhan nito. long weekend kasi at syempre napakaraming bdo card machines sa mga malls, sm pa lang ang dami na. magkano kaya lahat-lahat ang total amount na na-charge sa lahat ng transactions for that day dahil dito?

me too. We dine in a resto worth 1,260 USD kuno (1,260 pesos lang naman). Ok lang this was reversed.

Everything is under control, even the FOREX adjustments have been done. Next time, BDO has to ensure proper transmission of financial transactions to other credit card companies, though I believe this was unintentional incident, pero maraming nag hysteria dito, and for sure some other credit card users had experienced a 'decline' status upon purchasing within that period....

Yep even my mom was charged a whooping $16,000 for buying a small TV for our living room :lol: Pero yes it was already reversed...

As far as the sources I've gathered, Visa and Mastercard were affected as long as the card was swiped on any BDO Credit Card Terminals....
