Heartbreaking losses from Letran and San Sebastian gave JRU Heavy Bombers the much needed headbutts to wake up and prove that with no stance there's no chance. After a winning streak against St. Benilde and Perpetual Help they bombed the Cuneta Astrodome with a win over the reigning champions San Beda.

The winning streak of the Bombers continued beating the rest of the team in the league. This gave Coach Vanguardia's boys the number 2 seat. After the end of the first elimination the Kalentong-based college cagers prepared for another excruciating round of elimination.

After a win against the Blazers the Bombers had a self-declaratory "ugly win game" against the UPHD. From this they felt that their focus is on the loose.

The much awaited game against Letran came. The bombers fan and support crowd lined up the Arena. And once again the Bombers didn't failed their supporters and beat the number team placing their selves at the top spot.

Now that the Bombers are on top once again after 2001, can they continue the their winning battle? Can they once again survived the run and gun defensive team San Beda? Can they once again prove that they belong on top?

I say. Bring it on Lions.

Now since the BOMBERS are on top we have to be consistent because no other way but to go down.They lost two games and then had a pretty good run after that. So we all knew how much talent they have and what would happen if they all started playing their game.

I believe the Bombers can sustain the intensity they've been showing the last 8 games. They've worked hard to be where they are right now. They've invested blood,sweat and tears for this. There's no way they're going to let anybody stop their momentum now.:) Kudos to the Bombers.

Chances are a good game will be shown on their 2nd match up with SAN BEDA. Both defenses were great. Neither team got rhythm offensively. We know we have a great challenge ahead of us, one that we're certainly looking forward to.BOMERS played their hearts out, made a few turnovers down the stretch that really shot us in the foot. And WE had some guys giving everything they had, their heart and soul to try and get a victory.

JRU won because they played hard, their goal was to beat SAN BEDA in a fair game. So if UPHR, PCU will beat SAN BEDA also then you'll say it na chamba rin yon. Learn how to appreciate their effort and not by just criticizing them.

Well I'm very sorry to say this, talagang tsamba lang yung panalo ng JRU over San Beda during the 1st round. Imagine 14 three-pointers.If they just missed 2 of those talo JRU considering San Beda played their worst game and JRU was super duper lucky at that time.

i wonder why are you so keen in saying that our win over San beda the first round was pure LUCK.

dude you dont call a 12 to 14 average three pointer per game LUCK!
you dont call 16 ppg and 7 rpg for SENA LUCK. or CAGOCO's 4-5 three pointer per game LUCK.

Aryzk, if you have watch the other games of the Red Lions, you can tell that SBC played a very bad game (during their 1st round meeting with JRU) plus the fact that maybe nagpabaya sila. Again, JRU won that game by about 5 or 6 pts.

And JRU just leaned on their outside shooting that time. Kumbaga, bahala na kung swertehin (More 3pt shot attempts = high 3pt shot percentage) Good thing lahat halos pumasok kaya nanalo.

But I can say that JRU really has the HEART + PASSION + HARDWORK + BEING LUCKY kaya sila nanalo nung first round.

Unfortunately for you guys, SBC really played serious in the 2nd round and showed their real power. Masasabi ko din na may halong swerte na din SBC pero it is evident that the RED LIONS are too much for the HEAVIES. Again, my opinion.

August 22, 2008, Cuneta Asrodome, Pasay City. San Beda Red Lions vs. JRU Heavy Bombers, 2nd round of NCAA 84th season. Final result after four quarters of play, San Beda 71pts. & JRU 59 pts.. Cagoco who made 7 three point shot during the 1st round meeting only made 3 this time. Sena who averages 18 pts.per game only scored 7 pts. in this game. Also in this game, JRU only made 6 three pointers as compared to 14 during the 1st meeting.

Now can we call it TSAMBA. Well, the thing will speak for itself.

In addition, if San Beda played well in the 1st round, were not complacent and totally focus in the game, even if JRU made more than 14 three pointers I'm pretty sure San Beda would have an easy job dismantling their overachieving opponent.

Mga bro give credit where credit is due. JRU capitalized the complacency of San Beda in the first round alam natin lahat yan. The point is, JRU did their homework and we didn't kaya no one is to blame kundi tayo lang and we should give it to JRU for a job well done in the 1st round.

I dont want to take away anything from JRU pero the RL at high gear is just too much for any team. Everytime a team seems to be be unstopable on its winning run/streak, San Beda has always restored order. As many bedans would agree, the only thing that can beat San Beda is San Beda also. Hope it will stay that way until the end of the Season.

Goodluck to the bombers against the stags. Truly, you have exceeded most of our expectations

and honestly im a big fan of SBC too. and i don't ever call their games worst or not good. i call it. the winning attitude. that's what i like about SBC.

Actually, in my opinion, magaling ang team ng JRU ngayon...

Nagmature na ang laro ng mga players nila, plus nagkaroon sila ng mga bagong players na may mga potential din....

Kung makakatapat ng San Beda ang JRU sa Final 4, San Beda should play at their best to secure a spot in the Finals because naipakita na ng JRU that they can win over SBC esp. kung hindi nila naibibigay lahat sa laro nila.

what now jru? all you needed to do was to win 1 game to secure a final four berth yet you blew everything. tsktsktsktsk i think vanguardia should have done a better job of managing your earlier winning streak, it seems those games got burned your team out. anyway, good luck na lang during the knockout matches.
