Again, when it comes to Board Exams, the UP schools would top them all.
Both UP schools have registered a hundred passing rate. They are the only schools to have done it time and time again. They are truly the undisputed when it comes to Board exams even if these schools are not entirely board exams oriented, like we all know.
And here's more.
Your chances of landing in the top 10 are higher at UPd. Let's take a close look at their pormance this year alone.
4 out of the 17 UP Diliman exam takers have made it to the top 10. that's about 24% of their graduates in the Top 10. Truly amazing. No school could ever come close.
Congrats to the University of the Philippines. It's the undisputed number one school in the Philippines.

dapat iconsider din, pero minimal lang, yung percentage ng topnotchers dun sa cohort, because more or less, it says something about the batch because topping the exam only says something about the individual. sabi nga sa isang post dun sa architecture thread, it doesnt necessarily mean na a lot of people are in the top 10 that the school where they came from is number one. magaling sila as individuals pero as a batch...

AS IF we care.

Is it just me or alot of intellects of the so called elite schools would always interpret and view board exams as lame when a reputable contender outsmarts there social little club. always making excuses(big 3, tuition/fees, alumni, endowment, AUN, Thes, status symbol)and discrediting the entire dominican institution system. Come on! are they that desperate to join together and snatch a distinction uniquely thomasian? Always rubbing in there so called Big3. Heck, this post might not even materialize if checked by KD. But to give an ample observation to some critics of UST it just proves to show how truly insecure some of them are.

T.O.L.
Hi guys, I think it has been a long time since I posted a reply here at the Academe. And it's funny that from how I look at your posts I see myself in you guys years ago.
when I was still in college, I used to be insecure whenever our college gets low passing rate in board. I put a blame on those who are not serious in taking the test, of how they humiliate the present student body. But come my turn as a board taker, I realized that there is more to the essence of board exams than just getting 100% passing rate. As a professional under a very competitive profession. It is very important that you pass the test with quality, because unfortunately board exam is not a measure of one's strength may it be academically or in skills. It's just a little bit of diligence, a little bit of luck, and a whole lot of prayers.
In the review center, putting bias aside I observed that students coming from our school is way better in terms of competitiveness in the industry, the range of their knowledge, their passion for work, etc. But you see, not everyone has that great desire to do well in the board, for some they don't even care if they pass or not. They are just merely trying.
And those who fail the test, I don't think that they are less competitive under those who passed. For all I know boards is just a game of standard deviation. And it is even much more probable that they are only less LUCKY than those who passed. I mean, for example would you say that a person who passed the board with a score of 70.00 is better than the person who failed with a 69.90? I mean, c'mon. So safely, I think that it is better concluded that the best schools at the moment, I repeat AT THE MOMENT are those schools where topnotchers belong. By batch lang naman ang competitiveness nyan eh.
And sa totoo lang, when these failed guys take the test for the 2nd time, parehas din lang sila nung mga pasado. So it's like those who have the best had the best benchmark for being the best. So at the moment, they are the best. We'll have our own turns naman eh. In the mean time, lets Congratulate UST for such an amazing performance. Calling FACULTY OF CIVIL LAW...miracle please?hehe

No need indeed. In fact UPians don't have to argue and discredit every Thomasian achievement discussed in many threads here just to further prove UP's dominance in the academe. That's why I'm also clueless why many alleged UPian pexers are doing these. Para tuloy insecurities ang lumalabas.

^^^Then stop responding to trolls. You guys for the longest time have been answering left and right the posts of lebron_paul and his many incarnations. You often take the bait and in the process, sometimes become a troll also.. UST's reputation can stand on its own, the same as UP. You dont have to to defend your alma matter's "honor" and act as if your self esteem depends on you showing everyone else here in PEX that you are your alma matters knight in shining armor. :D

I would have to agree that some people here are rooting for their school a tad too much. UP and UST included.
Then again, this is the Academe!
Anyways, just give credit where credit is due. At the end of the day, we all know what both schools have accomplished and not a single one of us will change that fact.
