Standings for the final day of UAAP action
UST = 323 (11-peat general champions)
DLSU = 228 + 12 or + 15 = 240 or 243
UP = 235
FEU = 219 + 12 or + 15 = 230 or 234
so it's official na DLSU angg 2nd place?:D

Mukang DLSU is staging a comeback sa overall title scene, watchout UST. :lol:
:lol:
Or if FEU will now participate sa lahat ng events...

Napansin ko sa past seasons ng UAAP palaging UST and UP ang nasa top 3 over-all. Minsan may DLSU, minsan may FEU, pero mas madalas UP and DLSU ang magkalaban sa 2nd place. May season pa ngang nag-tie eh. hehe
Grabe UST galing sa isports.:)

i really think no one can beat the ust athletic program for the next 10 more years.
- they have a higher student base. scouting for potential athletes currently enrolled isn't a problem.
- potential athletes wouldn't have to worry so much about the ustet because it's relatively manageable
- most importantly, they have equal balance and attention on all the sports programs
the 7 other teams can just play amongst themselves and crown a mini-champion. the word is out: NO SCHOOL can beat ust and no one will. not in the medium-term future.
Next year sana second ulit! Hindi naman matatalo ang UST e. Sobrang balanced ang attack nila. For the last few years malaking achievement na ang maka-second
this is generally true and that is why i am already proud of our team.

the sad part of the uaap overall championship, parang hindi pinapansin ng tao dahil sa basketball lang...
but this year! pinapansin na ng tao ang ibang sports ng uaap...
on ateneo, nag-champion naman sila sa women's swimming at men's judo...talagang naging disappointment talaga ang women's beach volleyball (which is expected, ang hirap nga naman i-fill ang shoes nina charo at patti), and men's chess
now that the counting is over...abangan ninyo kung sino ang magiging uaap athlete of the year sa seniors at juniors division! :)

I think the last time that UST was threatened in its overall crown run was 2004 by La Salle. La Salle just came up short of 6 points or more to take the crown. La Salle is slowly regaining its form in its run for the overall crown but there are still many things that should be improved.
Anyway, congratulations to UST. Just another season at the office.

Okay lang yun. Marami namang championship ang AHS every year.
AHS and LSGH of NCAA have very good sports program talaga mapa-Basketball, Volleyball, Swimming, Football, Chess, Judo, Taekwondo, Fencing, etc. and even non-UAAP sports like Tennis, Baseball, etc.

more championships in every event brings you the general championship.
more successful shoots could lead you to winning the ballgame.
no offense, but honestly, nagmukhang palusot. excuse na naman.

^Eh kasi ganoon talaga. Walang magagawa. Walang babae eh. This year, look, Ateneo won in Football, Judo, Fencing, Basketball, Swimming and Track and Field. They placed 2nd sa Volleyball. They placed 3rd sa Table Tennis and Chess. So kahit anong gawin hindi sila mananalo. Walang babae eh.
Haha. Unfair naman yun. For sure. Ang FEU magrerequest ng ganoon sa Seniors. Special computation din dapat sila sa College.

i think nung season 67 (2004-2005) yun and its UP not DLSU. if i remember right sa last day na nalaman kung sino ang general champion after the last event has been completed. baseball yata ang last event nuon and UST ang nag champion.

uaap standouts for season 71:

2. pj tierro (dlsu) - on the brink of placing second, pj saved the day to the green archers...the result, a championship.
3. luica dacanay (up) - the face of up sports in their centennial year...winning women's swimming mvp five times is no joke...
4. rabeh al-hussaini (admu) - breakout year, scored 33 points, the highest output in two seasons...he took the blue eagles to their 1st seniors basketball championship in six years!
5. angela benting (adu) - set a new scoring record in women's volleyball of 33 points...engaged with an epic scoring battle with aiza maizo...
special mention: ben alejandrino (ust), manilla santos (dlsu), enchong dee (dlsu), mary ignacio (ust), jose andoni santos (up)
sa juniors:
1. alyssa valdez (ust) - the next blue chip women's volleyball recruit, a veteran of asian youth girls volleyball tournament...she's awesome!
2. mark juruena (adu) - scored a season high for 40 points (correct me if i'm wrong)...

kasi if they competed sa men's and women's ng swimming and judo plus baseball and softball at nag-place sila ng last naku pa nila ang 3rd spot sa overall at tinalo pa nila ang UP.:D

^Hindi na UAAP athlete si Japeth eh.
The GM norm by Gomez surely has an advantage on him. Ben Alejandrino also has a shot thanks to his performance in the ASEAN University Games.
Sowee po. Nabasa ko kasing part eh yung "someone who competed internationally and gave honor to the country... " na part.
So si Japeth una ko nasa isip. Team mate ko sya eh. Kaso iniwan kami kasi daw pang-NBA daw sya. Huhuhu.

I'm the epitome of The Ateneo -- Student first, athlete second.
